This algorithm is based on the interacting multiple model (IMM) method and applies a threshold controller to improve tracking accuracy. It is also applicable to other advanced algorithms of IMM. In this research, we also compare the position and velocity root mean square (RMS) errors of TIMM and IMM algorithms with two different examples. Simulation results show that the TIMM algorithm is superior to the traditional IMM alzorithm in estimation accuracy.展开更多

In about 90% of cases this lymphoma is associated with H pylori infection which has been dearly shown to play a causative role in lymphomagenesis. Although much knowledge has been gained in defining the clinical features, natural history, pathology, and molecular genetics of the disease in the last decade, the optimal treatment approach for gastric MALT lymphomas, especially locally advanced cases, is still evolving. In this review we focus on data for the therapeutic, stage dependent management of gastric MALT lymphoma. Hence, the role of eradication therapy, surgery, chemotherapy and radiotherapy is critically analyzed. Based on these data, we suggest a therapeutic algorithm that might help to better stratify patients for optimal treatment success.展开更多

Melanoma inhibitory activity (MIA), secreted by malignant melanoma cells, interacts with the cell adhesion receptors, integrins a4131 and 05131, facilitating cell detachment and promoting formation of me- tastases. In the present study, we demonstrate that MIA secretion is confined to the rear end of migrating cells, while in non-migrating cells MIA accumulates in the actin cortex. MIA protein takes a conventional secretory pathway including coat protein complex I (COPI)- and coat protein complex II (COPII)-dependent protein transport to the cell periphery, where its final release depends on intracellular Ca2+ ions. Interestingly, the Ca2+-activated K+-channel, subfamily N, member 4 (KCa3.1), known to be active at the rear end of migrating cells, was found to support MIA secretion. Secretion was diminished by the specific KCa3.1 channel inhibitor TRAM-34 and by expression of dominant- negative mutants of the channel. In summary, we have elucidated the migration-associated transport of MIA protein to the cell rear and also disclosed a new mechanism by which KCa3.1 potassium channels promote cell migration.展开更多

METHODS:The expression of genes significantly changed on microarray during H pylori infection was scanned from the web literary database and translated into proteins.A network of protein interactions was constructed by searching the primary interactions of selected proteins. The constructed network was mathematically analyzed and its biological function was examined. In addition, the nodes on the network were checked to determine if they had any further functional importance or relation to other proteins by extending them. RESULTS:The scale-free network showing the relationship between inflammation and carcinogenesis was constructed.Mathematical analysis showed hub and bottleneck proteins, and these proteins were mostly related to immune response. The network contained pathways and proteins related to H pylori infection, such as the JAK-STAT pathway triggered by interleukins.Activation of nuclear factor (NF)-κB,TLR4,and other proteins known to function as core proteins of immune response were also found. These immune-related proteins interacted on the network with pathways and proteins related to the cell cycle, cell maintenance and proliferation, andtranscription regulators such as BRCA1,FOS,REL,and zinc finger proteins. The extension of nodes showed interactions of the immune proteins with cancer- related proteins. One extended network, the core network,a summarized form of the extended network, and cell pathway model were constructed. CONCLUSION:Immune-related proteins activated by H pylori infection interact with proto-oncogene proteins. The hub and bottleneck proteins are potential drug targets for gastric inflammation and cancer.展开更多

METHODS: 53 subjects (36 male, 17 female, mean age ± SEM, 57.1 ± 12.1) undergoing endoscopic examination were included in this study. 42 of 53 patients were H pylori-positive, and 11 were H pylorinegative. All H pylori-positive patients had successful eradication therapy. Biopsy specimens were taken from five points of the stomach, as recommended by the updated Sydney system. Immunohistochemical studies were performed by using primary antibodies against p53 (DO-7 and PAb240). RESULTS: p53 (DO-7 and PAb240) immunoreactivity was shown in the neck region of the gastric pits, however, quite a few cells were found to be immunopositive for p53 (PAb240)in the Hpylori-infected gastric mucosa. The proportion of patients immunopositive for p53 (PAb240) was significantly reduced 6 mo after eradication [28/42 (66.7%) to 6/42 (14.3%)] (P 〈 0.05), while the biopsies taken from H pylori-negative patients showed no immunoreactivity for p53 (PAb240). p53 (PAb240)-positive patients were divided into two groups by the number of positive cells detected: one with more than six positive cells per 10 gastric pits (group A, n = 12), and the other with less than five positive cells per 10 gastric pits (group B, n = 30). Atrophy scores in group A were significant higher than those in group B at the greater curvature of the antrum (group A: 2.00 ± 0.14 vs group B: 1.40 ± 0.15, P = 0.012), the lesser curvature of the corpus (group A: 2.00 ± 0.21 vs group B: 1.07 ± 0.23, P = 0.017), and the greater curvature of the corpus (group A: 1.20 ± 0.30 vs group B: 0.47 ±0.21, P = 0.031). Group A showed significant higher intestinal metaplasia scores than group B only at the lesser curvature of the antrum (group A: 2.10 ± 0.41 vs group B: 1.12 ± 0.29, P = 0.035). CONCLUSION: H pylori-associated chronic gastritis expressed the mutant-type p53, which was significantly associated with more severe atrophic and metaplastic changes. Hpylori eradication led to a significant reduction in the expression of the mutant-type p53. It is considered that H pylori-infected chronic gastritis is associated with a genetic instability that leads to gastric carcinogenesis, and H pylori eradication may prevent gastric cancer.展开更多
