In order to reveal the influence of the intermediate principal stress (σ2) ... Slabbing failure often occurs in the surround rock near a deep underground excavation. The mechanism of slabbing failure is still unclear. In order to reveal the influence of the intermediate principal stress (σ2) on slabbing failure, true triaxial unloading compressive test was carried out based on the stress path of the underground engineering excavation, i.e., unloading the minimum principal stress (σ3), keeping σ2, increasing the maximum principal stress (σ1). The initiation and the propagation of slabbing fracture in rock specimens were identified by examining the acoustic emission (AE) and the infrared radiation characterization. The test results show that the failure modes of the granite and red sandstone specimens are changed from shear to slabbing with the increase of σ2. The AE characteristic of rock specimen under low σ2 is swarm type which is the main shock type under high σ2. The infrared radiation properties of rock specimen under different σ2 are also different. The temperature change area is just along the shear fracture such as the uniaxial compression. With the increase of σ2, the temperature change area is planar of rock specimen which proofs that the failure mode of rock specimen turns into slabbing. 展开更多

The paper simulated the performance of YW6120DD Electric Bus, and analyzed the test results comparing with simulation results Conclusion The simulation results indicate that the EVSP may contribute to the developments of electric vehicles in general and the definition of the optimal match management in the drive train in particular. 展开更多

The control of the clutch engagement for an automatic mechanical transmission in the process of a tracklayer getting to start is studied. The dynamic model of power transmission and automatic clutch system is developed. Using tools of Simulink, the transient characteristics during the vehicle starting, including the jerk and the clutch slip time, are provided here. Based on the analyses of the simulation results and driver’s experiences, a fuzzy controller is designed to control the clutch engagement. Simulation results verify its value. 展开更多

This paper describes a virtual environment, which can present dynamic force transformation during the control of objects. A 5-DOF haptic interface with the capability to generate kinesthetic effect is combined. In this system, the operator manipulates an object in a virtual environment by using the 5-DOF master arm. When contacting with the virtual object, the contact force can be calculated and shown in the graphic interface. The contact response and deformation of the virtual object, which are usually called haptic rendering, also can be performed. The study supplies an approach to improve the operator’s immersion and can be used in many tele-robot control fields. 展开更多

A novel technique was developed to remove impurities from crude lead by vacuum distillation.The thermodynamics on vacuum distillation refining process of crude lead was studied by means of saturated vapor pressure of main components of crude lead,separation coefficients and vapor-liquid equilibrium composition of Pb-i(i stands for an impurity) system at different temperatures.The behaviors of impurities in the vacuum distillation refining process were investigated.The results show that the vacuum distillation should be taken to obtain lead from crude lead,in which Zn,As and partial Sb are volatilized at lower temperature of 923-1023 K.Lead is distilled from the residue containing Cu,Sn,Ag and Bi at higher temperature of 1323-1423 K,but the impurity Bi is also volatilized along with lead and cannot be separated from lead. 展开更多

A computational fluid dynamics (CFD) study was carried out on a four stroke air cooled DI diesel engine, F912Q manufactured by Beinei Company, by using the KIVA 3V code. A three dimensional mesh was set up to model the cylinder, intake passage and exhaust passage. The calculated in cylinder pressure history and emissions are compared with the engine test data. The results show reasonable agreement. The effects of swirl ratio and spray angle on fuel spray, evaporation and mixing are investigated. It is found that there are optimum swirl ratio and spray angle for better evaporation and combustion. 展开更多

A molecular dynamics (MD) simulation is carried out to analyze the effect of cutting edge radius,cutdepth, and grinding speed on the depth of subsurface damage layers in monocrystal silicon grinding processes on an atomic scale. The results show that when the cutting edge radius decreases in the nanometric grinding process with the same cut-depth and grinding speed, the depth of the damage layers and the potential energy between the silicon atoms decrease too. Also, when the cut depth increases, both the depth of the damage layers and the potential energy between silicon atoms increase. When the grinding speed is between 20 and 200m/s,the depth of the damage layers does not change much with the increase of the grinding speed under the same cutting edge radius and cut depth conditions. This means that the MD simulation is not sensitive to changes in the grinding speed, and thus increasing the grinding speed properly can shorten the sion,the subsurface damage of monocrystal silicon is silicon atoms, which is verified by the ultra-precision simulation time and enlarge the simulation scale. In conclumainly based on the change of the potential energy between grinding and CMP experiments. 展开更多

The simulation techniques of hardware-in-loop simulation(HLS) of homing antitank missile based on the personal computer (PC) are discussed. The PC and MCS-96 chip controller employ A/D and D/A boards (with photoelectricity isolation) to transfer measur ment and control information about homing head, gyro and rudder and utilize the digital hand shaking board to build correct communication communication protocol. In order to satisfy the real-time requirement of HLS, this paper first simplifies the aerodynamic data file reasonably, then builds a PC software with C language. The program of the controller part is made with PL/M language. The simulation of HLS based on PC is done with the same sampling period of 10ms as that of YH-F1 and the experiment results are identical to those of digital simulation of the homing anti-tank guided missile. 展开更多

A kind of construction truck model is built in Adams based on multi-body dynamic theory. The rigid and elastic wheels of tire-soil contact models are proposed based on the Bekker pressure model and the Jonasi shear soil model, and they are described in the form of S-function to enhance the calculation efficiency and simulation accuracy. Finally, the interaction of truck and soil is simulated by Adams-Maflab co-simulation to study the influence of soft terrain on the ride comfort of vehicles. The co-simulation results reveal that the terrain properties have a great influence on the ride comfort of vehicles as well as driving speed, road roughness and cargo weight. This co-simulation model is convenient for adding the factor of terrain deformation to the analysis of vehicle ride comfort. It can also be used to optimize suspension system parameters especially for off-road vehicles. 展开更多

The theoretical analysis, computer simulation and orthogonal tests on this model show thatincreasing the gain of position K_(pp) can improve the rapid tracking performance of machine tools,and decreasing the delay time of speed loop τ_s can quickly eliminate the static error in thesystem, but the limited cutting width b_(lim) will descend correspondingly; excessively large orexcessively small gain of speed loop K_(ps) can result in decreasing b_(lim); optimizing K_(pp),τ_s and K_(ps) can improve the dynamic and static performance of the system and increase b_(lim).It is easy and feasible to optimize the servo parameters by the orthogonal test. This method caneffectively improve the system's stability and limited cutting width and it is suitable for the CNCheavy cutting of heavy-duty machine tools. 展开更多

The constitutive modeling and springback simulation for AA2524 sheet in creep age forming(CAF) process were presented.A series of creep aging tests were performed on AA2524 at the temperature of 180-200 °C and under the stress of 140-210 MPa for 16 h.Based on these experimental data,material constitutive equations which can well characterize creep aging behaviors of the tested alloy were developed.The effect of interior stress distributed along the sheet thickness on springback was simulated using FE software MSC.MARC by compiling the established constitutive models into the user subroutine.The simulation results showed that the amount of sheet springback was 61.12% when merely considering tensile stress existing along the sheet thickness;while sheet springback was up to 65.93% when taking both tensile and compressive stresses into account.In addition,an AA2524 rectangular sheet was subjected to CAF experiment in resistance furnace.The springback value of the formed rectangular sheet was 68.2%,which was much closer to 65.93%.This confirms that both tensile and compressive stresses across the sheet thickness should be considered in accurately predicting springback of the sheet after forming,which can be more consistent with experimental results. 展开更多

For hot rolling of titanium alloy large rings,evolution laws of stress and strain fields in rings with various sizes were explored and compared based on a reliable coupled thermo-mechanical three-dimensional (3D) finite element (FE) model.The results show that for forming processes of different rings,as γ^-(the equivalent distribution ratio of feed amount per revolution of a process) decreases,the final peak Mises stress may transfer from the biting point at the driver roll side to that at the idle roll side,and the final peak equivalent plastic strain may transfer from the outside surface to the inside surface;as L^- (the equivalent deformation zone length of a process) increases,the final peak Mises stress may appear in the middle layer.The final positions of peak Mises stress and equivalent plastic strain are the combined effects of the above two aspects.In the deformation zone of a deformed ring,the surface layers are in the 3D compressive stress state,while the middle layer is in the 1D compressive and 2D tensile stress state or 2D compressive and 1D tensile stress state;the whole ring is in the 1D compressive and 2D tensile strain state. 展开更多
