Based on the multi-body kinematics principle, the topological structure and restriction relation among parts of machine tool and 3D multi-body model are constructed, the kinematics simulation system of machine tool is developed. The designer can observe the movement and machining course of the whole machine tool and understand accurately the kinematics parameters of components such as position, velocity and acceleration. Also the designer can estimate the pose of components in the virtual circumstance and forecast accurately and correct problems which may appear during the design before the prototype is manufactured to assure the feasibility of design scheme, shorten period of product design and reduce product cost. The simulation system is used during the design of CK1416 high speed and precision numerical control lathe. The curves of ball screw angular velocity and carriage displacement agree well with the results of theoretical calculation and the constructed model is correct. 展开更多

To improve the accuracy and interactivity of soft tissue delormatlon simulation, a new plate spring model based on physics is proposed. The model is parameterized and thus can be adapted to simulate different organs. Different soft tissues are modeled by changing the width, number of pieces, thickness, and length of a single plate spring. In this paper, the structural design, calcula- tion of soft tissue deformation and real-time feedback operations of our system are also introduced. To evaluate the feasibility of the system and validate the model, an experimental system of haptic in- teraction, in which users can use virtual hands to pull virtual brain tissues, is built using PHANTOM OMNI devices. Experimental results show that the proposed system is stable, accurate and promising for modeling instantaneous soft tissue deformation. 展开更多

In this paper, graphical-user-interface (GUI) software for simulation and fuzzy-logic control of a remotely operated vehicle (ROV) using MATLABTM GUI Designing Environment is proposed. The proposed ROV's GUI platform allows the controller such as fuzzy-logic control systems design to be compared with other controllers such as proportional-integral-derivative (PID) and sliding-mode controller (SMC) systematically and interactively. External disturbance such as sea current can he added to improve the modelling in actual underwater environment. The simulated results showed the position responses of the fuzzy-logic control exhibit reasonable performance under the sea current disturbance. 展开更多

In head mounted display(HMD),in order to cancel pincushion distortion,the images displayed on the mobile should be prewarped with barrel distortion.The copyright of the mobile video should be verified on both the original view and the pre-warped virtual view.A robust watermarking resistant against barrel distortion for HMDs is proposed in this paper.Watermark mask is embedded into image in consideration of imperceptibility and robustness of watermarking.In order to detect watermark from the pre-warped image with barrel distortion,an estimation method of the barrel distortion is proposed for HMDs.Then,the same warp is enforced on the embedded watermark mask with the estimated parameters of barrel distortion.The correlation between the warped watermark and the pre-warped image is computed to predicate the existence of watermark.As shown in experimental results,watermark of mobile video can be detected not only from the original views,but also from the pre-warped virtual view.It also shows that the proposed scheme is resistant against combined barrel distortion and common post-processing,such as JPEG compression. 展开更多

This paper presents a method using range deception jamming to evaluate the safety performance of the autonomous vehicle with millimetre wave(MMW)radar.The working principle of this method is described.Combined with a waveform edition software,an experimental platform is developed to generate a deceptive signal that contains false distance information.According to related theories and its principle,the configuration parameters of the experimental setup are calculated and configured.The MMW radar of evaluated vehicle should identify an objective when it receives the deceptive signal from the experimental setup.Even if no obstacle,the evaluated vehicle can immediately brake in order that its braking distance is measured.The experimental results show that the proposed method can meet the requirements of the safety performance evaluation for the autonomous vehicle with MMW radar,and it also overcomes some deficiencies of previous methods. 展开更多

The modelling and simulation of deformable objects is a challenging topic in the field of haptic rendering between human and virtual environment.In this paper,a novel and efficient layered rhombus-chain-connected haptic deformation model based on physics is proposed for an excellent haptic rendering.During the modelling,the accumulation of relative displacements in every chain structure unit in each layer is equal to the deformation on the virtual object surface,and the resultant force of corresponding springs is equivalent to the external force.The layered rhombus-chain-connected model is convenient and fast to calculate,and can satisfy real-time requirement due to its simple nature.Simulation experiments in virtual human liver based on the proposed model are conducted,and the results demonstrate that our model provides stable and realistic haptic feeling in real time.Meanwhile,the display result is vivid. 展开更多

Molecular dynamics with the stochastic process provides a convenient way to compute structural and thermodynamic properties of chemical, biological, and materials systems. It is demonstrated that the virtual dynamics case that we proposed for the Langevin equation [J. Chem. Phys. 147, 184104 (2017)] in principle exists in other types of stochastic thermostats as well. The recommended "middle" scheme [J. Chem. Phys. 147, 034109 (2017)] of the Andersen thermostat is investigated as an example. As shown by both analytic and numerical results, while the real and virtual dynamics cases approach the same plateau of the characteristic correlation time in the high collision frequency limit, the accuracy and efficiency of sampling are relatively insensitive to the value of the collision frequency in a broad range. After we compare the behaviors of the Andersen thermostat to those of Langevin dynamics, a heuristic schematic representation thermostatting processes with molecular is proposed for understanding efficient stochastic dynamics. 展开更多

To improve the operational efficiency of global optimization in engineering, Kriging model was established to simplify the mathematical model for calculations. Ducted coaxial-rotors aircraft was taken as an example and Fluent software was applied to the virtual prototype simulations. Through simulation sample points, the total lift of the ducted coaxial-rotors aircraft was obtained. The Kriging model was then constructed, and the function was fitted. Improved particle swarm optimization(PSO) was also utilized for the global optimization of the Kriging model of the ducted coaxial-rotors aircraft for the determination of optimized global coordinates. Finally, the optimized results were simulated by Fluent. The results show that the Kriging model and the improved PSO algorithm significantly improve the lift performance of ducted coaxial-rotors aircraft and computer operational efficiency. 展开更多

The blocks were modified (cut) on the basis of the simulation result on the ground before erecting them by crane. Then the simu- lation and experiment are finished, and the result of the experiment is in good agreement with the re- sult of the simulation. It shows that the co-simulation model established can simulate accurately pa- rameter changes in real time during the moving of the forging manipulator such as displacement, ve- locity and pressure flow, which is of important significance for the optimized design of the forging manipulator system to establish the models. 展开更多

However, the construction process of bucket foundations cannot be clearly observed and effectively controlled due to the special nature of sea environment. By using an advanced simulation development tool of Multigen Creator, the visual construction simulation program for the platform with bucket foundations was developed to set up the virtual reality system with interaction control and observation in every view angle based on the secondary development technology of Vega platform. It consists of the CATHENA (Canadian Algorithm for Thermo-Hydraulic Network Analysis), the control logics from C6SIM (CANDU 6 Analytical Simulator), and a communication protocol, PVM (parallel virtual machine). This is the first time that CATHENA has been successfully coupled directly with a program written in another language.
