[Method] A 150 m long, 0.5 m wide and 0.6 m deep ecological ditch was constructed on the basis of the periphyton reactor theory, to investigate the reoxygenation and deep purification effect of the ecological ditch on the effluent of constructed wetlands. [Result] Experimental results showed that the level of dissolved oxygen (DO) in the effluent of constructed wetlands increased to a range of 4.41-7.91 mg/L and pH val- ue increased significantly by flowing though the ecological ditch (P〈0.05). DO level in the water of ecological ditch increased linearly with the increasing length of the ecological ditch within the range of 150 m (P〈0.05). The ecological ditch showed further removal effect on NH4+-N, IMn and PO4^3 -P in the effluent of the constructed wetlands, with the removal rate of 19.46%, 13.38% and 31.09%, respectively. The total coliform group was also eliminated with the removal rate ranging between 12.5% and 78.13%. [Conclusion] The ecological ditch based on periphyton reactor could improve DO level and further reduce N and P contents in the effluent of the constructed wetlands, which could be used as a matching water-reuse system of constructed wetlands. LEK1 and CMF1, which are its murine and chicken orthologs, however, are implicated in muscle differentiation and reportedly not distributed at kinetochores. We therefore conducted several assays to clarify this issue. The typical centromere staining patterns were observed in mitotic cells from both human primary culture and murine, canine, and mink cell lines. A C-terminal portion of LEK1 also conferred centromere localization. Our analysis further suggests conserved kinetochore localization of mammalian mitosin orthologs. Moreover, mitosin was associated preferentially with kinetochores of unaligned chromosomes. It was also constantly transported from kinetochores to spindle poles by cytoplasmic dynein. These properties resemble those of other kinetochore proteins important for the spindle checkpoint, thus implying a role of mitosin in this checkpoint. Therefore, mitosin family may serve as multifunctional proteins involved in both mitosis and differentiation.展开更多

In this work, a CI engine was simulated to work in HCCI mode and was analyzed to study the effect of induction induced swirl under varying speeds using three-zone extended coherent flame combustion model(ECFM-3Z, compression ignition) of STAR-CD. The analysis was done considering speed ranging from 800 to 1600 r/min and swirl ratios from 1 to 4. The present study reveals that ECFM-3Z model has well predicted the performance and emissions of CI engine in HCCI mode. The simulation predicts reduced in-cylinder pressures, temperatures, wall heat transfer losses, and piston work with increase in swirl ratio irrespective of engine speed. Also, simultaneous reduction in CO2 and NOx emissions is realized with higher engine speeds and swirl ratios. Low speeds and swirl ratios are favorable for low CO2 emissions. It is observed that increase in engine speed causes a marginal reduction in in-cylinder pressures and temperatures. Also, higher turbulent energy and velocity magnitude levels are obtained with increase in swirl ratio, indicating efficient combustion necessitating no modifications in combustion chamber design. The investigations reveal a total decrease of 38.68% in CO2 emissions and 12.93% in NOx emissions when the engine speed increases from 800 to 1600 r/min at swirl ratio of 4. Also an increase of 14.16% in net work done is obtained with engine speed increasing from 800 to 1600 r/min at swirl ratio of 1. The simulation indicates that there is a tradeoff observed between the emissions and piston work. It is finally concluded that the HCCI combustion can be regarded as low temperature combustion as there is significant decrease in in-cylinder temperatures and pressures at higher speeds and higher swirl ratios.展开更多

By solving the convection-diffusion equation(Fokker-Planck equation), the influence of Brownian diffusivity offine particles on concentration distribution and adhesion efficiencyis demonstrated with the hydrodynamic force and van der Waalsattractive potential between particles and bubble considered. It isfound that two kinds of mechanism dominate the adhesion process ofparticles on bubble according to different Peclet number or size ofparticles and bubble, as well as other properties of the slurrysystems. In addition, the viscosity ratio of bubble to the suspendingfluid was found to have obvious influence on particle adhesion.展开更多

Blastocyst implantation capacity was evaluated by calculating the percentage of embryos with attachment or outgrowth. Matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs) secretion of blastocysts was observed using gelatin zymography. Results There was no significant difference in the percentage of attachment between control and TGF-α treated groups, but the percentage of outgrowth of TGF-α treated groups was significantly higher than that of the control group after 24h culturing. Gelatin zymography showed that blastocysts cultured in TGF-α treated groups started secreting MMPs earlier than those in the control group. Conclusion TGF-α is involved in regulating the mouse embryo implantation process by promoting blastocyst outgrowth and secreting matrix matalloproteinases.展开更多
