A stable solution of an ill-posed inverse problem was obtained by the regularization methods in which some desired structures were imposed to stabilize the inverse problem. By the smoothness-constrained model and approximate sensitivity method, the stable subsurface resistivity structures were reconstructed. The synthetic examples show that the smoothness-constrained regularized inversion method is effective and can be reasonable to reconstruct three-dimensional subsurface resistivity structures.展开更多

This new form of compound extreme value distribution expands the existing application of compound extreme value distribution, and can be applied to predicting financial risk, large insurance settlement and high-grade earthquake, etc. Compared with the maximum likelihood estimation (MLE) and compound moment estimation (CME), probability-weighted moment estimation (PWME) is used to estimate the parameters of the distribution function. The specific formulas are presented. Through Monte Carlo simulation with sample sizes 10, 20, 50, 100, 1 000, it is concluded that PWME is an efficient method and it behaves steadily. The mean square errors (MSE) of estimators by PWME are much smaller than those of estimators by CME, and there is no significant difference between PWME and MLE. Finally, an example of foreign exchange rate is given. For Dollar/Pound exchange rates from 1990-01-02 to 2006-12-29, this paper formulates the distribution function of the largest loss among the investment losses exceeding a certain threshold by Poisson-GP compound extreme value distribution, and obtains predictive values at different confidence levels.展开更多

The simple analytical formula for the SHG susceptibility in the systems is also deduced. Numerical results on typical AlGaAs/GaAs materials show that, for the same effective width,the SHG susceptibility in semi-parabolic QW is larger than that in parabolic QW due to the self-asymmetry of the semiparabolic QW, and the applied electric field can make the SHG susceptibilities in both systems enhance remarkably.Moreover, the SHG susceptibility is also related to the parabolic confinement frequency and the relaxation rate of the systems.展开更多

Many approaches have been pr...Homogeneous matrices are widely used to represent geometric transformations in computer graphics, with interpo- lation between those matrices being of high interest for computer animation. Many approaches have been proposed to address this problem, including computing matrix curves from curves in Euclidean space by registration, representing one-parameter curves on manifold by rational representations, changing subdivisional methods generating curves in Euclidean space to corresponding methods working for matrix curve generation, and variational methods. In this paper, we propose a scheme to generate rational one-parameter matrix curves based on exponential map for interpolation, and demonstrate how to obtain higher smoothness from existing curves. We also give an iterative technique for rapid computing of these curves. We take the computation as solving an ordinary differential equation on manifold numerically by a generalized Euler method. Furthermore, we give this algorithm’s bound of the error and prove that the bound is proportional to the shift length when the shift length is sufficiently small. Compared to direct computation of the matrix functions, our Euler solution is faster.展开更多

The equidistance problem is solved using NPsim function to calculate similarity. And a sequential NPsim matrix is built to improve indexing performance. To sum up the above innovations,a nearest neighbor search algorithm of high-dimensional data based on sequential NPsim matrix is proposed in comparison with the nearest neighbor search algorithms based on KD-tree or SR-tree on Munsell spectral data set. Experimental results show that the proposed algorithm similarity is better than that of other algorithms and searching speed is more than thousands times of others. In addition,the slow construction speed of sequential NPsim matrix can be increased by using parallel computing.展开更多
