High- sulfur coal gangue was continuously immersed in a proline solution and in deionized water (as a control treatment) for 540 days. The results showed that the coal gangue in the control treatment was oxidized and generated leachate with poor water qualities, i.e., the leachate exhibited lower pH values, higher redox potential values, higher pollutant concentrations (804^2-, Fe, Mn, Cu, and Zn), and high levels of acidophilic sulfur-oxidizing bacteria. However, compared to the control treatment, the addition of the proline solution (1%) significantly improved the water quality of the leachate by significantly reducing the Eh values, the pollutant concentrations (804^2-, Fe^2+, Fe, Mn, Cu, and Zn), and the activity of acidophilic sulfur-oxidiz- ing bacteria and by significantly increasing the pH value to neutral. The proline treatment significantly inhibited the oxidation of coal gangue and the release of pollutants, mainly by inhibiting the activity of acidophilic sulfur-ox- idizing bacteria and by altering the heavy metal fractions and the mineralogical characteristics. Therefore, in engi- neering practice, workers should consider using an envi- ronmental friendly aqueous proline solution cover to achieve the in-situ control of pollutant releases from coal gangue dumps.展开更多

It was revealed that the vein matrix is composed of majorite-pyrope garnet, mag- aesiowtistite, and ringwoodite, with FeNi-FeS inter- growths. The observation and character of ring-like selected electron diffraction (SAED) patterns indicate that Lhe idiomorphic garnet crystals in the vein matrix have different orientations. The polycrystalline nature of magnesiowtistite is also confirmed by a ring-like SAED pattern. Both garnet and magnesiowtistite crystals showed sharp Jiffraction spots, signifying the good crystallinity of these :wo minerals. The SAED pattern of cryptocrystalline 5ngwoodite shows only diffuse concentric diffraction tings. FeNi metal and troilite (FeS), which were molten during the shock event, occur in the matrix as fine eutectic FeNi-FeS intergrowths filling the interstices between garaet and magnesiowiistite grains. Based on the phase dia- gram of the Allende chondrite and the results of this TEM study, it is inferred that majorite-pyrope garnet first crystallized from the Suizhou chondritic melt at 22-26 GPa, Followed by crystallization of magnesiowtistite at 20-24 GPa, and then ringwoodite at 18-20 GPa. The eutectic intergrowths of FeNi-metal and troilite are proposed to have crystallized during meteorite cooling and solidified at the last stage of vein formation.展开更多

The introduction of petroleum-system concept shifts the view of geoscientists from geology and geophysics to oil, gas and their related source rocks. After detailed study, two petroleum systems have been identified in the Damintun Depression: (1) the ES42-Ar buried hill petroleum system (called the high-wax oil petroleum system) and (2) the ES41+ES34-ES4 and ES3 petroleum system (called the normal oil petroleum system). Based on the detailed analysis of the basic components, and all the geological processes required to create these elements of the two petroleum systems, it is put forward that targets for future exploration should include the area near Dongshenpu-Xinglongpu and the area near the Anfutun Sag. This provides scientific basis and has theoretical and practical meaning for the exploration and development.展开更多

Petrological chemical analysis results suggest that silica is poor and aluminum is rich, and high potassium large ion lithophile elements (LILE), light rare earth element (LREE) and Sr are obviously detracted in these rocks. High field strength elements (HFSE) and heavy rare earth element (HREE) are depleted, especially Nb, Ta, P and Ti. 8Eu: 0.09--1.64 shows that plagioclase does not appear fractional crystallization during the formation of alkali-rich rocks, t^348, H and O isotopes and Pb isotopes suggest that ore-forming fluid is derived from the mantle, and Pb is possibly mixed by mantle, wall rock and crust. The age of Pb in alkali-rich rocks is about 250-220 Ma. The age of alkali porphyry rock (dykes) varies from 30 Ma to 50 Ma. Alkali rocks have strong metallogenetic relation. Au mineralization is associated to the alkali magrnatic activities with a relatively high temperature, low pressure and high oxygen fugacity. However, copper mineralization is mainly associated with alkali-sub-alkali magmatic activities in a process of relatively low temperature, high pressure and lower oxygen fugacity.展开更多

The samples were selected from deposits, located along the Main Ural Fault-the Paleozoic subduction zone (named GUR). Peculiarities of microstructure, chemical composition and properties of serpentinites formed in different geological conditions were investigated and their comparative study was held. They were devided three groups of serpentinites with oriented and non-oriented structure which formed by different protholites: mantle, lithosphere and crust.展开更多
