The iron-loaded organic phase of naphthenic acid-isooctyl alcohol-kerosene was prepared, and the process kinetics of hydrothermal stripping of iron from the phase was studied. Several factors affecting hydrothermal stripping, such as the polymer of naphthenic acid, initial concentrations of iron and naphthenic acid, temperature and agitation time, were investigated, and based on experimental results and theoretical analysis, two kinetic models were established.The stripping rate equation suggests that the hydrothermal stripping process activation energy is 96.4 kJ·mol-1 and the stripping is controlled by hydrolysis of naphthenic complex of iron. The values calculated by the stripping fraction equation comparatively accord with the experimental data. 展开更多

The influence of impurity content on the microstructure and mechanical properties of ZK60 magnesium alloys was investigated by optical microscopy,scanning electron microscopy and tensile test.ZK60 alloys were prepared by changing holding time of alloy melt during semi-continuous casting in order to control the content of impurity elements.The alloy with lower purity content is found to have less second precipitates and larger grain size in the as-cast state.However,in the as-extruded state,reducing impurities brings about a decrease in grain size and an increase in yield strength from 244 MPa to 268 MPa,while the elongations in the as-extruded alloys with different contents of impurities are almost the same.After T5 treatment,impurity content is found to have more obvious effect on the yield strength of ZK60 alloy.The yield strength of ZK60-45 alloys with low impurity content is increased up to 295 MPa after T5 treatment. 展开更多

In 1778, Abbe Guinot, a priest native of Lorraine and professor in the seminary of Toul, published in Nancy the two volumes of his philosophical lectures, whose subtitle is "On Logic." This concerns a general philosophy of knowledge and a critic of philosophical systems. Guinot is interested in science and natural discoveries. He describes the organization of institutional science and appreciates the progress of sciences but he makes a distinction between scientific progress and philosophers' sophisms that he criticizes. In order to favor science and avoid philosophical errors, logic is essential in students' training. According to Guinot, logic allows us to extend our intellectual abilities, upliR our ideas, help our thought processes, and mature our reflection. However, this logic refers to the great book of nature written in mathematical language. Guinot thinks that scientific experiment is of the highest importance for accuracy of mind. This logic lecture is inspired by Aristotle but above all by Port-Royal Logic. It gives a place to Locke empiricism and it favors development of sciences. Abbe Guinot was a chaplain in the cathedral of Nancy; he emigrated in 1791. He came back in France during the Consulate and he died a few time later. 展开更多

The fundamental research and industry, trials of the third generation automobile steel QP980 were introduced in this paper, including chemical ingredient, mechanical properties, microstructure, forming limit and basic perform- ance parameters. The application of QP steel of the B-pillar was researched, and the QP980, DP600 and hot forming steel were compared in the aspect of formability, safety and cost. The resuhs showed that the QP980 replacing DP600 steel single piece carl reduce the weight by 2.4 kg. The security and performance is basically the same as that of hot forming steel using 22MnB5, and the cost is reduced by 30 %. 展开更多

This review covers the background, discovery, characteristics, and applications of bulk glassy alloys, as well as recent topics regarding them. Applications of bulk glassy alloys have been expanding, particularly for Fe-based bulk glassy alloys, due to their unique properties, high glass-forming ability, and low cost.
