Further, the quality approaches and techniques adopted in Hong Kong manufacturing to improve quality are looked into. The results of this study reveal that the present view on quality is to focus on customers, to improve the operational processes and to increase the total involvement among the staff in the company. In addition, it is found that the difference in working experience and types of industry would affect the perspective of quality as an individual and as a company to a certain extent. Moreover, it is interesting to find that SPC and QCC are widely used in manufacturing for controlling operational processes. TQM and ISO quality system are often adopted in large electronics companies. However, zero defect program is not common in the three industries while benchmarking emerged as a useful technique.展开更多

Taking the urban tourism of Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao as an example, it aims at presenting a new spatial system of urban tourism research and pointing out the new orientation of urban tourism research in combination of macro level and micro level, from description to explanation. The meanings of the spatial framework construction for urban tourism study are to make clear how urban tourism studies vary with the changes of dimensions of time and space. This is a meaningful discussion because it will bring great changes to the using of literatures, the opening of research perspectives on urban tourism and the upgrading of theories, so as to create a new stage for urban tourism study.展开更多

These entrepreneurs constitute a majority of businesses and employ a significant part of the population, thus, they are vital for the economy of Hong Kong. This research looks into and studies this phenomenon to evaluate the various components of the success of these entrepreneurs and to draw conclusions that will benefit the educators, the legislators as well as the new entrants who wish to become entrepreneurs. The Hong Kong's entrepreneurs seem to succeed, when they are able to blend the best qualities of the East and the West. Based on the research outcomes, the perceptions, achievements, strategies, and traits (PAST) model has been developed to assist Hong Kong entrepreneurs in the future.展开更多
