Methods S. aureus were added to U937 cells at multiplicity of infections (MOI) of 20:1 for 0, 15, 30, 60, and 90 minutes, respectively. Cell apoptosis was analyzed with Hoechst 33258 staining and Annexin V-fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC)/propidium iodide (PI) flow cytometry analysis. Akt and nuclear factor-κB (NF-κB) activities were detected by Western blotting. Results Infection of U937 cells with S. aureus induced rapid cell death in a time-dependent manner, and the cells displayed characteristic features of apoptosis. S. aureus-induced apoptosis was associated with a prominent downregulation of activated (phosphorylated) Akt and NF-κB. The inhibition of phosphorylated Akt by LY294002 led to the inhibition of NF-κB in a dose-dependent manner. Inhibition of Akt with LY294002 caused further increase in apoptosis of U937 cells. Conclusions S. aureus can stimulate the apoptosis of U937 ceils. S. aureus induces apoptosis of U937 cells by inhibiting Akt-regulated NF-κB.展开更多

Infrared spectrum analysis, the nuclear magnetic resonance spectrum(NMR) analysis and conductivity measurements confirm that the probable structures of the extracted complexes are CdA2 and ZnA2. Cadmium can be extracted by D2EHDTPA very easily. Almost all the cadmium can be extracted, but stripping of cadmium from the organic phase is very difficult. When a mixture of D2EHDTPA and TOA is used, selective extraction of cadmium from zinc sulfate solution can be achieved. Cadmium can be easily stripped from the organic phase.展开更多

[Methods] A field plot experiment was conducted to study the effects of urea ammonium chloride of different fertilization patterns on summer maize yield and yield components. [Results] Urea ammonium chloride had a long fertilizer effect and the same yield-increasing effect with urea, which could im- prove the agronomic traits and economic traits of maize apparently and the applica- tion of urea ammonium chloride with nutrient reduction of 40% (namely just use urea ammonium chloride equaled 60% pure nitrogen), had the same yield-increasing effect with urea of traditional fertilization patterns, and input-output ratio was high and the economic benefit was remarkable. [Conclusion] To provide scientific theoretical direc- tion for large area popularization and application of urea ammonium chloride.展开更多

Methods: Rats were subjected to cerebral ischemia-reperfusion induced by inserting a nylon thread into internal carotid artery to block the origin of middle cerebral artery and removing the thread later. FDPM (400 mg·kg -1), fructose-1,6-diphosphate (FDP, 400 mg·kg -1)and magnesium sulfate (MgSO 4, 30 mg·kg -1) were administrated 10 min after the onset of ischemia. Neurological scale, brain infarct area, Malondialdehyde(MDA) content and histopathological changes of brain tissue were studied. Results: FDPM decreased neurological scale, diminished brain infarct area, reduced MDA content and relieved histopathological change of rat brain tissue subjected to ischemia-reperfusion. These effects were more powerful than that of FDP or MgSO 4. Conclusions: It is suggested that FDPM markedly prevented rats against brain damage after cerebral ischemia-reperfusion, and its effect was better than that of FDP or MgSO 4.展开更多
