The microstructure and phase composition of the coatings prepared at different holding time were investigated in detail using optical microscopy(OM), scanning electron microscopy(SEM), energy dispersive spectrometer(EDS) and X-ray diffraction(XRD), and so on. The microhardness tester and electrochemical workstation(PS-168a) were used to measure the microhardness and corrosion resistance of the alloying coating. The results showed that the alloying coatings gradually generated with the extension of holding time under constant temperature. And the obvious bonding interface between the coating and substrate was observed, and the bonding interface was changed from smooth to zigzag. EDS and XRD analyses showed that the microstructure of alloying coating mainly consisted of eutectic α-Mg phase and continuous network β-Al(12)Mg(17) phase. The average microhardness of the coatings increased by 113% in comparison to the substrate, and the self-corrosion potential increased from-1.389 to-1.268 V at the same time.展开更多

The solutions for the mechanical properties of plane strain bending are derived, which are adapted for various kinds of non-strength differential materials and can be degenerated to those based on the Tresca, von Mises, and twin-shear yield criteria. The dependences of the two critical bending moments, the radii of the interfaces between the elastic and plastic regions and the radial displacements of the points at the symmetrical plane on different yield criteria and Poisson’s ratios are discussed. The results show that the influences of different yield criteria and Poisson’s ratio on the two critical bending moments, the radii of the interfaces between the elastic and plastic regions and the radial displacements of the points at the symmetrical plane of the curved beam are significant. Once the value of bis obtained by experiments, the yield criterion and the corresponding solution for the materials of interest are then determined.展开更多

The experimental results indicate that, under a relatively high normal stress, normal stress and the coefficient of structural roughness are the most important factors affecting the mechanical interface characteristics. The relationship between shear stress and shear displacement of the soil-structure interface is a hyperbolic curve with high regression accuracy. Based on our experimental results,a nonlinear elastic con-stitutive model of the soil-structure interface under relatively high normal stress is established with a definite physical meaning for its parameters. The model can predict the strain hardening behavior of the soil during the shearing process. The results show an encouraging agreement with experimental data from direct shear tests.展开更多

Therefore, uniaxial compression test on cylinder specimen made from laminated sample is put forward. Considering the influence of anisotropy on hardening properties and the stress state in popular forming process, plane strain compression test on cubic specimen made from laminated sample was advanced. Results show that the deformation range of hardening curves obtained from the presented methods is wide, which meets the need for the application in sheet metal forming processes. In view of the characteristics of methods presented in the paper and the stress strain state of various forming processes, the adaptability of the two methods presented in this paper is given.展开更多

The paste was synthesized from fly ash and sodium silicate solution and cured at room temperature, 60 and 80℃ for 24 hours. To simulate flooring application, the geopolymer paste was casted on Portland cement cubes which have been fully hydrated for 28 days. Silica fume was added to reduce cracks but at the same time compressive strength decreased. Averaged compressive strength decreased from 53 MPa to 37 MPa for paste cured at 60℃. Curing at higher temperatures produced stronger geopolymer, with compressive strength of 12 MPa, 53 MPa and 67 MPa for geopolymer cured at room temperature, 60℃ and 80℃ respectively, however, higher curing temperature resulted in more cracking when the geopolymer paste was applied on the Portland cement substrate. Averaged hardness values were 65 and 43 Brinnel scale (BHN), and wear rate, measured using Ogoshi machine, were 0.66 and 1.80 mm3/min for samples cured at 60 and 80℃ respectively. Unless surface hardening was applied, the material is not suitable for flooring but do so for decorative masonry.展开更多

Tensile tests of welded joints were run in accordance with face centered composite design. Two types of identified models based on least square method and response surface method were used to assess the contribution of FSW independent factors on the hardening parameters. These models were introduced into finite-element code "Abaqus" to simulate tensile tests of welded joints. The relative average deviation criterion, between the experimental data and the numerical simulations of tension-elongation of tensile tests, shows good agreement between the experimental results and the predicted hardening models. These results can be used to perform multi-criteria optimization for carrying out specific welds or conducting numerical simulation of plastic deformation of forming process of FSW parts such as hydroforming, bending and forging.展开更多
