The results indicate that such magnetic treatment can profoundly change the microstructure and digestion performance of bauxite. For the two samples carrying different iron contents, phase transformation of the aluminum oxide phase proceeds faster in the high iron bauxite than the low one. The optimal pretreatment conditions of low iron bauxite are roasting temperature 550 ℃ and magnetic field intensity 6 T, while for high iron bauxite are 500 ℃ and 9 T. The digestion rate of alumina can reach 95% and 92% at digestion temperature of 190 ℃ and 250 ℃. The settling performances of roasted ore by intense magnetic field after digestion are enhanced through pretreatment.展开更多

Effects of the temperature, carbon to oxygen ratio, and cooling type on magnetic susceptibility and composition of rare-earth tailings were investigated. The results show that roast conditions with the temperature of 650℃, carbon to oxygen ratio of 3.85, and holding time of 2.5 h are in favor of reduction of Fe_2O_3 to Fe_3O_4 when the roasted rare-earth tailings is cooled along with furnace. Under these roast conditions, magnetic susceptibility of rare-earth tailings is 2.36 that is very close to theoretical value(2.33). However, magnetic separation results of iron in rare-earth tailings cooled along with furnace are not satisfactory. Through comparing magnetic separation results of iron in rare-earth tailings cooled by different ways, it is found that water cooling is more favored of magnetic separation of iron in the roasted rare-earth tailings than furnace cooling and air cooling. Grade and recovery of iron in concentrate from rare-earth tailings cooled by water are 45.00%-49.00% and 65.00%-77.50%, respectively.展开更多

Investigation into the optimal culture conditions needs a large number of experiments So it is desirable to minimize the number of experiments and maximize the information gained from them. The orthogonal design of experiments and mathematical statistical method are considered as effective methods to optimize the culture condition of magnetotactic bacteria WMol for high magnetic cells concentration. The effects of the four factors, such as pH value of medium, oxygen concentration of gas phase in the serum bottle, C:C (mtartaric acid: m=succinic acid) ratio and NaNO3 concentration, are simultaneously investigated by only sixteen experiments through the orthogonal design L16(44) method. The optimal culture condition is obtained. At the optimal culture condition ( pH 7.0, an oxygen concentration 4.0%, C:C (mtartaric acid: m=succinic acid) ratio 1:2 and NaNO3 100 mg 1^-1), the magnetic cells concentration is promoted tO 6.5×10^7 cells ml^-1, approximately 8.3% higher than that under the initial conditions. The pH value of medium is a very important factor for magnetic cells concentration. It can be Proved that the orthogonal design of experiment is of 90% confidence. Ferric iron uptake follows MichaelisoMenten kinetics with a Km of 2.5 pM and a Vmax of 0.83 min^-1.展开更多
