In this study, the Crested Ibis Nature Reserve co-management model namely "companies + farmers + Nature Reserve" model is proposed and evaluated with demonstration investigation methods, including continuous six-year fixed-site socio-economic development data of surrounding community, company sales revenue data and monitored data of Crested Ibis Nature Reserve. The results show that farmers' income and conservation awareness increased greatly from 2003 to 2008;company sales revenue has increased by about 20% annually in the recent years;management level has noticeably improved in Nature Reserve, the scope of Crested Ibis habitat has expanded 50 hm2;chemical composition of habitat reduced year after year;and the number of Crested Ibis had been growing annually. At the end,the success of the model is evaluated, and problems in implementation of the model are discussed from the following aspects:management system,co-management concept, economic base of partners, marketing mechanism, technical capacity and so on.展开更多

Economic law is a general term of legal nomas to adjust social relations occurred in the course of state regulation of the economy, so that to protect state regulation, and promote social and economic coordination, stability and development. From the view of the generation of the law, economic law is generated after the emergence of the socialization of production and monopoly to protect the public interest. Economic law is bound to reflect social justice in the redistribution process of interests. Legislative intent of economic law to maintain a fair society is reflected through the redistribution process of the interests. In order to tackle self-dealing, academics and regulators have emphasised the legal tools. However, there is a divergence between those supporting the existence of a benchmark model towards which to converge (convergence hypothesis) and those underscoring the importance of socio-economic factors on the efficacy of governance rules (path-dependency view). The aim of this paper is to join in the convergence vs. path-dependency debate by focusing on the efficiency of mandatory rules and investigating their effectiveness. Considering the current market integration, the traditional cost-benefit analysis has been extended in order to embrace costs specifically associated to the issue of domestic rules in a global scenario. This analysis supports the convergence view and encourages at least a partial and gradual adjustment of national legislations towards the prevailing Anglo-Saxon model. In order to test this hypothesis, an examination of the self-dealing regulatory (on conflict of interests and self-dealing) adopted in some Western (Germany, Italy, and the United Kingdom (UK)) and Eastern (Czech Republic, Hungary, and Poland) European countries has been conducted.展开更多

On the one side the austerity-politics of the Troika limits the influence of democratic procedures. On the other side new forms of social protests rise in which social actors struggle for an extension of the democratic public: the resistance against evictions the self-organization of medical care, the occupation of public places etc. realized new forms of social cooperation, discussion and decision-making processes. On this background a reference to John Deweys theory of the democratic public seems to be helpful to reconstruct and to orient these conflicts and the claims raised in them. According to Dewey the normative criteria which we use if we evaluate actions or common institutions are a part of the social process and insofar a process themselves. These criteria have to be reflected and reformulated in new situations in which new social problems and conflicts occur. The democratic public is in this conception the realm in which a common elucidation of problematic social consequences of the existing institutions takes place and in which proposals for the overcoming of these consequences are formulated. Therefore it reconstructs the central norms embedded within the social institutions, it shows how collective actions guided by these norms leads to problematic social consequences. This is then the background for a critical reflection on, and a reformulation of the guiding norms of these institutions. To realize such a form of collective self-determination the democratic public can not be reduced to a separate political sphere, rather it has to be extended to all forms of social cooperation especially the economy.展开更多

As a result, final energy consumption has rapidly changed. This paper studied a trend of changes in final energy intensity by looking at sector-wide energy demand and shares in gross domestic products. It was found that intensity of total final energy consumption in Lao PDR (People's Democratic Republic) gradually decreased during the last decades. This was resulted of high stable economic growth and comparatively slow growth in energy demand. Furthermore, Lao economy still relays mainly on less-energy intensive economic sectors, such as services and traditional agriculture. Although energy intensities of the industry, transportation and services sectors continuously decreased, but have slowed down in recent years. Moreover, energy intensity of agricultural sector continues increasing. All these facts give a ground for thinking that in the future, when socio-economic development of the country will reach higher level, there will be more energy consuming activities, then energy demand will increase while economic growth will slow down, and therefore, energy intensity is to increase. Knowledge on trend of energy consumption changes would be useful for predicting energy demand and securing energy supply in the future.展开更多
