Jia Baoyu, Lin Daiyu, Wang Xifeng, Xue Baochai, Yuanyang, Qingwen, and the others all have their distinct personalities and are true to life as if they were living amongst us. These richly complex characters with their different stations in life and divergent views and philosophies act out an intricate pattern of human relationships and conflicts within the Jia family mansion.
