Totally, 102 tree species from 25 families and 16 woody liana species from 10 families were recorded in Nankang, whereas 108 tree species from 30 families and 17 woody liana species from 12 families were recorded in Banchang. Although the tree species between two habitats is different, both habitats are characterized by enriched food resources for eastern hoolock gibbons, sharing similar dominant plant families. Due to tsaoko plantation, tree density proportion and diversity of forest layer I (〉20 m) in Nankang were both significantly decreased, but the tree density of layerH (10-20 m) increased. Likewise, in conjunction with these behavioral observations, we also address potential impacts of tsaoko plantation on the behavior of eastern hoolock gibbon.展开更多

Therefore, the stability and persistence of species in the forest protection is important for planners of natural resources. Field station of spreading Dehloran aquifer is one of the major forestations in Ilam province. It aimed of protecting the soil and underground water table feeding in hot dry plains of Mosian, which have been planted with native and non-native species. In the present article 100 trees of each species were planted during the years 1998 and 1999 in the station, such as Ziziphus spina-christi, Prosopis juliflora, Eucalyptus camaldulensis and Acacia sp. They were randomly selected and information about this species measured and recorded annually has been used. Finally the data has been analysis; by comparison test to compare the growth and persistence. Results indicate that despite high average in height growth (85.4 cm/year) and relatively large diameter growth (2.43 cm/year), non-native species of Eucalyptus are not in good condition in terms of viability (36.2 percent) and freshness. On the contrary, the native species of Ziziphus with relatively low in average height and diameter growth (22.64 and 2.28 cm/year respectively) represent a better index of viability (65.4 percent) and freshness.展开更多

Methods: Microimplants were inserted into bovine bone samples. Images of the samples were obtained using OCT and μCT. Visual comparisons of the images were made to evaluate whether anatomical details and microdamage induced by microimplant insertion were accurately revealed by OCT. Results: The surface of the cortical bone with its anatomical variations is visualized on the OCT images. Microdamage occurring on the surface of the cortical bone around the microimplant can be appreciated in OCT images. The resulting OCT images were compared with the μCT images. A high correlation regarding the visualization of individual microcracks was observed. The depth penetration of OCT is limited when compared to μCT. Conclusions: OCT in the present study was able to generate high-resolution images of the microdamage occurring around the microimplant. Image quality at the surface of the cortical bone is above par when compared with μCT imaging, because of the inherent high contrast and high-resolution quality of OCT systems. Improvements in the imaging depth and development of intraoral sensors are vital for developing a real-time imaging system and integrating the system into orthodontic practice.展开更多
