The precision of title and abstract translation significantly impacts the industry’s retrieval and dissemination. This paper takes a domestic core journal of coal science as the material to discuss the problems existing in the translation of such title and abstract and the post-translation editing. The ultimate aim is to provide valuable references for the translation of titles and abstract of academic papers in mineral science and technology.展开更多

The study selected several mainstream machine translation software in the market and evaluated the translation results in depth through the case study method. The analysis focuses on the mistranslation of proper nouns, the appropriateness of vocabulary selection, the handling of complex sentences, and the degree of dependence of the translated text on the structure of the original text. The findings show that although machine translation has significant advantages in improving translation efficiency, its translations still have deficiencies in terms of accuracy and fluency. In response to the problems identified, this paper proposes a series of post-editing suggestions aimed at optimizing translation quality.展开更多
