The analysis shows that 70% of carb...This paper uses Lorenz curve and Gini index with adjustment to per capita historical cumulative emission to construct carbon Gini index to measure inequality in climate change area. The analysis shows that 70% of carbon space in the atmosphere has been used for unequal distribution, which is almost the same as that of incomes in a country with the biggest gap between the rich and the poor in the world. The carbon equity should be an urgency and priority in the climate agenda. Carbon Gini index established in this paper can be used to measure inequality in the distribution of carbon space and provide a quantified indicator for measurement of carbon equity among different proposals.展开更多
The key objective of this research was to estimate the Ni and Cr contents of soil around the Baghjar Chromite Mine(BCM)of Sabzevar Ophiolite Belt,Northeastern Iran,and assess the degree of soil pollution using the p...The key objective of this research was to estimate the Ni and Cr contents of soil around the Baghjar Chromite Mine(BCM)of Sabzevar Ophiolite Belt,Northeastern Iran,and assess the degree of soil pollution using the pollution indices.Soil samples(0-20 cm depth) were collected at various distances from the BCM.In the present research,heavy metals(Cr and Ni) in soil samples were analyzed by atomic absorption spectrometry to detect their concentrations and contour maps were produced to explain the metal spatial distribution.Also,the degree of metal pollution was quantified.The results indicate that the soils in the studied area are contaminated by Cr and Ni.The corresponding concentrations for Cr and Ni are(156.19±24.45) and(321.7±133.27) mg/kg,respectively,which exceed the corresponding maximum allowable concentrations in soils.The different indices demonstrate that soils around chromite mine are significantly contaminated with Cr and Ni,suggesting several times higher levels of toxic metals than normal ranges.The above results revealed that the heavy metal concentrations increase with increasing the distance from the mine and mining pollutants can be transported to long distances from their sources.展开更多

The eigen analysis was carried out, and the eigea noise space and the eigen signal space was achieved. Then the Frequency Domain TOA estimation algorithm based on Cross-HOC was developed. A direct as well as iterative method(called the orthogonally accumulated projection method, or the OAP for short) for solving linear system of equations with symmetric coefficient matrix is introduced in this paper. W...A direct as well as iterative method(called the orthogonally accumulated projection method, or the OAP for short) for solving linear system of equations with symmetric coefficient matrix is introduced in this paper. With the Lanczos process the OAP creates a sequence of mutually orthogonal vectors, on the basis of which the projections of the unknown vectors are easily obtained, and thus the approximations to the unknown vectors can be simply constructed by a combination of these projections. This method is an application of the accumulated projection technique proposed recently by the authors of this paper, and can be regarded as a match of conjugate gradient method(CG) in its nature since both the CG and the OAP can be regarded as iterative methods, too. Unlike the CG method which can be only used to solve linear systems with symmetric positive definite coefficient matrices, the OAP can be used to handle systems with indefinite symmetric matrices. Unlike classical Krylov subspace methods which usually ignore the issue of loss of orthogonality, OAP uses an effective approach to detect the loss of orthogonality and a restart strategy is used to handle the loss of orthogonality.Numerical experiments are presented to demonstrate the efficiency of the OAP.展开更多
