In order to forecast promising technologies in the field of next generation mobile communication, various patent indicators were analyzed such as citation per patent, patent family information, patent share, increase ... In order to forecast promising technologies in the field of next generation mobile communication, various patent indicators were analyzed such as citation per patent, patent family information, patent share, increase rate, and patent activity. These indicators were quantified into several indexes and then integrated into an evaluation score to provide promising technologies. As a result of the suggested patent analysis, four technologies out of twenty two in details classification were selected, which showed outstanding technology competitiveness, high patent share and increasing rates as well as high recent-patent-ratios and triad-patent-family-ratios. Each of the selected technologies scored more than 10 points in total, and the following four technologies were suggested as promising ones in the field of next generation mobile communication: 1) 3GPP based mobile communication, 2) beyond 4G mobile communication, 3) IEEE 802.16 based mobile communication, which are in medium classification of broadband mobile communication system, and 4) testing/certification system of mobile communication, which is in medium classification of mobile communication testing/certification system. 展开更多

Handover location technology was employed for collecting road traffic information in a number of field projects, and the project results demonstrate that it is a supplementary and promising means of road traffic information collection for further traffic supervision and maintenance. Because handover location technology is one kind of pattern matching based location technologies, offiine handovex location positioning is an essential problem to be studied for successfully matching mobile probes on GIS map. Offline handover location positioning method involves two stages, handover location positioning respectively via two weighted models and an optimized model based on the intermediate results obtained in the first stage. A preliminary field test is conducted on a stretch of freeway in the inner suburban region in Beijing, and performance evaluation results show that the proposed method is superior to standard least square model in location accuracy and location precision, which is an effective method of offline handover location positioning. 展开更多

The article explains the role and future trend of IT industry,and states that information technology represented by the Internet and computers has brought about the third industrial revolution in history.An important impetus for economic growth in modern times,the IT industry has greatly promoted sustainable development and is profoundly changing mankind's way of life and production.In discussing the development trend of world IT industry,the article suggests that with potential new breakthroughs in information technology,the trend of agglomeration and integration of industries has become increasingly obvious,competition of intellectual properties and standards is intensifying and ubiquitous network is taking shape.It points out that China should bring into better play the role of IT industry as an'amplifier'in economic growth,a'transformer'in development mode and a'propeller'in industrial upgrading.It is important to follow a policy that emphasizes independent innovation,market-driven approach,open and compatible technologies,integrated and comprehensive applications, and serving both military and civil purposes,so that a quantum leap of IT industry will be achieved.China should advance industrialization with information technologies and promote the IT industry in the course of industrialization in an effort to build an IT industry with Chinese characteristics.Greater efforts should be made to develop such core sectors as microelectronics,computer,software,key components and materials,as well as sectors with international competitiveness,including broadband mobile communication,next-generation network and information services.Continued improvement should be made in policies guiding the development of IT industry with a view to making China a country with a strong IT industry by 2020. 展开更多
