Based on the analysis of transportation and treatmentof different packets in NS, a dataflow state machine is proposed with its states exchange triggeringevents and a dataflow analyzer is designed and implemented according to it. As the machine statefunctions, the analyzer can make statistic of total transportation flux of a specified dataflow andoffer a general fluctuation diagram. Urban sediments have rapidly increased in recent years around the world,and their effective management has become an important problem.To remove heavy metals from stormwater runoff and use sediments as a resource,a no...Urban sediments have rapidly increased in recent years around the world,and their effective management has become an important problem.To remove heavy metals from stormwater runoff and use sediments as a resource,a novel ceramsite was developed using sewer pipe sediments(SPS),river bed sediments(RBS),urban water supply treatment sludge(WSTS),and wastewater treatment plant excess sludge(WWTS).The optimal composition was determined based on the Brunauer–Emmett–Teller specific surface area and an orthogonal test design.The adsorption characteristics of the novel ceramsite for dissolved heavy metals(Cu^(2+)and Cd^(2+)) were investigated through adsorption isotherms and kinetic experiments at(25±1)℃.Both Cu^(2+) and Cd^(2+) were effectively removed by the novel ceramsite,and their equilibrium adsorption was 4.96 mg·g^(-1) and 3.84 mg·g^(-1),respectively.Langmuir isotherms and a pseudo-first-order kinetic equation described the adsorption process better than other techniques.Characterization analysis of the ceramsite composition before and after heavy metal adsorption showed that the Cu^(2+) and Cd^(2+) contents in the ceramsite increased after adsorption.The results revealed that adsorption is both a physical and chemical process,and that ceramsite can be used as a bioretention medium to remove heavy metals from stormwater runoff while simultaneously converting problematic urban sediments into a resource.展开更多

However, an end-to- end TCP flow not only experiences some com- mon challenges in wireless mobile networks, such as high packet loss rate, medium access competition, unstable wireless bandwidth, and dynamic topology, etc., but also suffers from performance degradation due to traffic congestion at the Road-Side Units (RSUs) that connect the wireline and wireless networks. In order to address the challenging issues related to reliable TCP transmissions in infrastruc- ture based vehicular networks, we propose an RSU based TCP (R-TCP) scheme. For wireline source nodes, R-TCP adopts a novel flow control mechanism to adjust transmission rates according to the status of bottleneck link. Specifically, during the short wireless connec- tion time in Infrastructure based vehicular net- works, R-TCP quickly chooses an ideal trans- mission rate for data transmissions instead of activating the slow start algorithm after the connection is established, and successfully avoids the oscillation of the transmission rate. Simulation results show that R-TCP achieves great advantages than some relate proposals in terms of throughput, end-to-end delay, and packet loss rate.展开更多

This system contained six modules: video flow capture, pre-processing, movement detection, shadow ...A real-time pedestrian detection and tracking system using a single video camera was developed to monitor pedestrians. This system contained six modules: video flow capture, pre-processing, movement detection, shadow removal, tracking, and object classification. The Gaussian mixture model was utilized to extract the moving object from an image sequence segmented by the mean-shift technique in the pre-processing module. Shadow removal was used to alleviate the negative impact of the shadow to the detected objects. A model-free method was adopted to identify pedestrians. The maximum and minimum integration methods were developed to integrate multiple cues into the mean-shift algorithm and the initial tracking iteration with the competent integrated probability distribution map for object tracking. A simple but effective algorithm was proposed to handle full occlusion cases. The system was tested using real traffic videos from different sites. The results of the test confirm that the system is reliable and has an overall accuracy of over 85%.展开更多

On the basis of this, the Asian river...Study of the major Asian rivers discharge to the ocean reveals variations of their water discharges and sediment loads, and local characteristics of river sediment concentrations. On the basis of this, the Asian rivers fall into three regions, including Eurasia Arctic, East Asia, Southeast and South Asia Regions. The Eurasia Arctic Region is characterized by the lowest sediment concentration and load, while the East Asia Region is of the highest sediment concentration and higher sediment load, and the South-East and South Asia Region yields higher sediment concentration and highest sediment load.The sediment loads of these regions are mainly controlled by climate, geomorphology and tectonic activity. The Eurasia Arctic rivers with large basin areas and water discharge, drain low relief which consists of tundra sediment, thus causing the lowest sediment load. The East Asia rivers with small basin areas and lowest water discharges, drain extensive loess plateau, and transport most erodible loess material, which results in highest sediment concentration. The SE and South Asia rivers originating from the Tibet Plateau have large basin areas and the largest water discharges because of the Summer Monsoon and high rainfall influence, causing the highest sediment load.In Asia, tectonic motion of the Tibet Plateau plays an important role. Those large rivers originating from the Tibet Plateau transport about 50% of the world river sediment load to ocean annually, forming large estuaries and deltas, and consequently exerting a great influence on sedimentation in the coastal zone and shelves.展开更多

For a long tim e, non-uniform bed load transport has been assum ed to be at capacity regime determined exclusively by local flow. Yet whether the capacity assumption for non-uniform bed load transport is justified remains poorly understood. Here, the relative time scale of non-uniform bed load transport is evaluated and non-capacity and capacity models are compared for both aggradation and degradation cases with observed data. As characterized by its relative time scale, the adaptation of non-uniform bed load to capacity regime should be fulfilled quickly. However, changes in the flow and sedim ent inputs from upstream or tributaries hinder the adaptation. Also, the adaptation to capacity regime is size dependent, the finer the sediment size the slower the adaptation is, and vice versa. It is shown that the capacity model may entail considerable errors compared to the non-capacity model. For modelling of non-uniform bed load, non-capacity modelling is recommended, in which the temporal and spatial scales required for adaptation are explicitly appreciated.展开更多

This feature is attractive to design, implement, and maintain distributed systems because we can implement both client-side and server-side programming in one mobile agent. However, it involves the increase of data traffic for mobile agent migrations. In this paper, we propose program code caching to reduce the data traffic caused by mobile agent migrations. A mobile agent consists of many program codes that define a task executed in each machine they migrate; thus, the mobile agent migration involves the transfer of their program codes. Therefore, our method reduces the number of the transfer of program codes by using program code cache. We have implemented our method on a mobile agent framework called Maglog and conducted experiments on a meeting scheduling system.展开更多

Besides, SDN also provides better Quality of Experience(QoE) for customers. However, the policy of the evolution from legacy networks to the SDNs overemphasizes the controllability of the network or TE while ignoring the customers' benefit. Standing in the customers' position, we propose an optimization scheme, named as Optimal Migration Schedule based on Customers' Benefit(OMSB), to produce an optimized migration schedule and maximize the benefit of customers. Not only the quality and quantity of paths availed by migration, but also the number of flows from the customers that can use these multi-paths are taken into consideration for the scheduling. We compare the OMSB with other six migration schemes in terms of the benefit of customers. Our results suggest that the sequence of the migration plays a vital role for customers, especially in the early stages of the network migration to the SDN.展开更多

This mechanism is based on the perception of moving speed and a predesigned selection metric to choose the optimal routing protocol. The routing evaluation and selection metric is derived by OPNET simulations. AODV and OLSR are used as the example to show the process of this mechanism with the moving speed varying. The routing protocol can be configured without central configuration and human management. Besides, the overhead of the mechanism is reasonable and doesnot affect the quality of service (QoS) of the traffic in the network. On the other hand, the tunnel and vertical ventilation are fixed. The momentum equations are solved by LES (large eddy simulation) method. The initial condition of fluid in the subway tunnel is stationary. The Reynolds number is 1,500 based on the cylinder radius. So the key to solving this problem is that we need to find a kind of traffic model to predict the traffic load that users need. According to the predicted traffic load to allocate bandwidth to each base station dynamically.But the traffic consumption behavior of a single base station is random, it is difficult to predict[ 1 ]. For this reason, we based on reality that, when the user moves, it may get traffic load from different base stations, therefore, there will have some kind of relationship between those base stations.We use this relationship to establish a kind of Spatial Collaborative Network.consequently, we make use of stability algorithm to divided those base station cluster into different communities, According to the traffic load usage rules which these communities indicated to us, we get a traffic model.At the same time, we studied bow to use this traffic model in the future networks to dynamically allocate bandwidth resources, then we propose a new kind of EPS architecture based on SDN, on this platform, we can deploy our strategy through it's programmable interface.Finally, we designed an experiment to test the performance of our dynamic strategy, and the result shows that our method enables bandwidth utilization has been greatly improved.展开更多
Cellular networks are overloaded due to the mobile traffic surge,and mobile social networks(MSNets) can be leveraged for traffic offloading.In this paper,we study the issue of choosing seed users for maximizing the mo...Cellular networks are overloaded due to the mobile traffic surge,and mobile social networks(MSNets) can be leveraged for traffic offloading.In this paper,we study the issue of choosing seed users for maximizing the mobile traffic offloaded from cellular networks.We introduce a gossip-style social cascade(GSC) model to model the epidemic-like information diffusion process in MSNets.For static-case and mobile-case networks,we establish an equivalent view and a temporal mapping of the information diffusion process,respectively.We further prove the submodularity in the information diffusion and propose a greedy algorithm to choose the seed users for traffic offloading,yielding a sub-optimal solution to the NP-hard traffic offloading maximization(TOM) problem.Experiments are carried out to study the offloading performance,illustrating that the greedy algorithm significantly outperforms the heuristic and random algorithms,and user mobility can help further reduce cellular load.展开更多

A 3-D coupled seepage and heat transfer model for studying beach well intake system is established by adopting the computer code FLUENT. Numerical results of this model are compared with the experimental results under the same conditions. Based on the experiment-verified coupled model, numerical simulation of the supply water tem-perature is studied over a heating season. Results show that the minimum temperature of supply water is 275.2 K when this intake system continuously provides seawater with flow rate of 35 m3/h to SWHP. Results also indicate that the supply water temperature is higher than seawater, and that the minimum temperature of supply water lags behind seawater, ensuring effective and reliable operation of SWHP.展开更多
Objective:To explore a surgical model of utilizing consecutive free scapular flap and adjacent pedicled flap transfer for repairing massive soft tissue defects on the dorsum of the hand while minimizing the donor sit...Objective:To explore a surgical model of utilizing consecutive free scapular flap and adjacent pedicled flap transfer for repairing massive soft tissue defects on the dorsum of the hand while minimizing the donor site morbidity.Methods:Six patients with massive soft tissue injuries on the opisthenar and forearm were treated with free scapular flaps.Afterwards,a pedicled flap adjacent to the donor site was transferred to cover the donor site defect by direct closure.Results:All six free scapular flaps survived without signs of infection.Three adjacent pedicled flaps presented minor signs of insufficient blood flow on the distal apex,which resolved after six weeks with only conservative therapy.All the incisions healed without other complications.At six-month follow-up,the patients regained full shoulder function.Conclusion:With the assistance of an adjacent pedicled flap,the scapular flap is a highly applicable approach in repairing massive soft tissue defects in the opisthenar.It can achieve positive outcomes in both reconstructive and aesthetic aspects.展开更多

文摘A moving-mass control method is introduced to stratospheric airship for its special working condition of low atmospheric density and low speed.The dynamic equation of airship is derived by using the Newton-Euler method and the mechanism of attitude control by moving masses is studied.Then the passive gliding of airship by the moving masses is given based on the theory of glider,and attitude control capability between moving mass and elevator is compared at different airspeed.Analysis results show that the motion of masses changes the gravity center of the airship system,which makes the inertia tensor and the gravity moment vary.Meanwhile,the aerodynamic angles are generated,which results in the change of aerodynamic moment.Control efficiency of moving masses is independent of airspeed.Thus the moving-mass control has the advantage over the aerodynamic surfaces at low airspeed.
文摘Mobile agents are able to migrate among machines to achieve their tasks. This feature is attractive to design, implement, and maintain distributed systems because we can implement both client-side and server-side programming in one mobile agent. However, it involves the increase of data traffic for mobile agent migrations. In this paper, we propose program code caching to reduce the data traffic caused by mobile agent migrations. A mobile agent consists of many program codes that define a task executed in each machine they migrate; thus, the mobile agent migration involves the transfer of their program codes. Therefore, our method reduces the number of the transfer of program codes by using program code cache. We have implemented our method on a mobile agent framework called Maglog and conducted experiments on a meeting scheduling system.

文摘Software Defined Networking(SDN) provides a flexible and convenient way to support fine-grained traffic-engineering(TE). Besides, SDN also provides better Quality of Experience(QoE) for customers. However, the policy of the evolution from legacy networks to the SDNs overemphasizes the controllability of the network or TE while ignoring the customers' benefit. Standing in the customers' position, we propose an optimization scheme, named as Optimal Migration Schedule based on Customers' Benefit(OMSB), to produce an optimized migration schedule and maximize the benefit of customers. Not only the quality and quantity of paths availed by migration, but also the number of flows from the customers that can use these multi-paths are taken into consideration for the scheduling. We compare the OMSB with other six migration schemes in terms of the benefit of customers. Our results suggest that the sequence of the migration plays a vital role for customers, especially in the early stages of the network migration to the SDN.
文摘A self-adapting and reconfigurable routing mechanism is proposed according to the average moving speed of the nodes in mobile ad hoc network (MANET). This mechanism is based on the perception of moving speed and a predesigned selection metric to choose the optimal routing protocol. The routing evaluation and selection metric is derived by OPNET simulations. AODV and OLSR are used as the example to show the process of this mechanism with the moving speed varying. The routing protocol can be configured without central configuration and human management. Besides, the overhead of the mechanism is reasonable and doesnot affect the quality of service (QoS) of the traffic in the network. Results show that the optimal routing protocol can be configured adaptively according to the speed so that better performance than end-to-end delay and packet delivery ratio. a specific protocol can be obtained in terms of
文摘Moving IBM (immersed boundary method) is applied to analyze the relative motion of railway car flow in the single-bore subway tunnel with vertical ventilation. The tested car body is modeled by cylinder type body. The subway tunnel is assumed to be the single-car-passing straight type (single-bore tunnel). The modeled car is relatively moved forward. On the other hand, the tunnel and vertical ventilation are fixed. The momentum equations are solved by LES (large eddy simulation) method. The initial condition of fluid in the subway tunnel is stationary. The Reynolds number is 1,500 based on the cylinder radius. The turbulent flow field in the subway tunnel and vertical ventilation shaft are to be qualitatively investigated.

文摘Laser-induced fluorescence excitation spectra of jet-cooled NiC1 molecules were recorded in the energy range of 12900-15000 cm-1. Six vibronic bands with rotational structure have been observed and assigned to the [13.0]2II3/2(v'=0-5)-X2II3/2(v"=0) transition progression. The relevant rotational constants, significant isotopic shifts, and (equilibrium) molecular parameters have been determined. In addition, the lifetimes of the observed bands have also been measured.

文摘For telecommunication operators, how to improve the utilization of bandwidth resources is always a problem which worthy of study, nowadays, this issue has become more and more important, since the traffic load bursting in the mobile Internet. So the key to solving this problem is that we need to find a kind of traffic model to predict the traffic load that users need. According to the predicted traffic load to allocate bandwidth to each base station dynamically.But the traffic consumption behavior of a single base station is random, it is difficult to predict[ 1 ]. For this reason, we based on reality that, when the user moves, it may get traffic load from different base stations, therefore, there will have some kind of relationship between those base stations.We use this relationship to establish a kind of Spatial Collaborative Network.consequently, we make use of stability algorithm to divided those base station cluster into different communities, According to the traffic load usage rules which these communities indicated to us, we get a traffic model.At the same time, we studied bow to use this traffic model in the future networks to dynamically allocate bandwidth resources, then we propose a new kind of EPS architecture based on SDN, on this platform, we can deploy our strategy through it's programmable interface.Finally, we designed an experiment to test the performance of our dynamic strategy, and the result shows that our method enables bandwidth utilization has been greatly improved.

文摘Cellular networks are overloaded due to the mobile traffic surge,and mobile social networks(MSNets) can be leveraged for traffic offloading.In this paper,we study the issue of choosing seed users for maximizing the mobile traffic offloaded from cellular networks.We introduce a gossip-style social cascade(GSC) model to model the epidemic-like information diffusion process in MSNets.For static-case and mobile-case networks,we establish an equivalent view and a temporal mapping of the information diffusion process,respectively.We further prove the submodularity in the information diffusion and propose a greedy algorithm to choose the seed users for traffic offloading,yielding a sub-optimal solution to the NP-hard traffic offloading maximization(TOM) problem.Experiments are carried out to study the offloading performance,illustrating that the greedy algorithm significantly outperforms the heuristic and random algorithms,and user mobility can help further reduce cellular load.

文摘In the beach well intake system, heat is transferred from soil to fluid when seawater is filtered through the aquifer, providing higher temperature source water to the seawater source heat pump (SWHP) system in winter. A 3-D coupled seepage and heat transfer model for studying beach well intake system is established by adopting the computer code FLUENT. Numerical results of this model are compared with the experimental results under the same conditions. Based on the experiment-verified coupled model, numerical simulation of the supply water tem-perature is studied over a heating season. Results show that the minimum temperature of supply water is 275.2 K when this intake system continuously provides seawater with flow rate of 35 m3/h to SWHP. Results also indicate that the supply water temperature is higher than seawater, and that the minimum temperature of supply water lags behind seawater, ensuring effective and reliable operation of SWHP.
文摘Objective:To explore a surgical model of utilizing consecutive free scapular flap and adjacent pedicled flap transfer for repairing massive soft tissue defects on the dorsum of the hand while minimizing the donor site morbidity.Methods:Six patients with massive soft tissue injuries on the opisthenar and forearm were treated with free scapular flaps.Afterwards,a pedicled flap adjacent to the donor site was transferred to cover the donor site defect by direct closure.Results:All six free scapular flaps survived without signs of infection.Three adjacent pedicled flaps presented minor signs of insufficient blood flow on the distal apex,which resolved after six weeks with only conservative therapy.All the incisions healed without other complications.At six-month follow-up,the patients regained full shoulder function.Conclusion:With the assistance of an adjacent pedicled flap,the scapular flap is a highly applicable approach in repairing massive soft tissue defects in the opisthenar.It can achieve positive outcomes in both reconstructive and aesthetic aspects.
