Distributed state feedback controllers are adopted for the cooperation of networked agents. A theorem in the form of linear matrix inequalities(LMI) is derived to analyze the system stability. An- other theorem in the form of optimization problem subject to LMI constraints is proposed to design the controller, and then the algorithm is presented. The simulation results verify the validity and the effectiveness of the pro- posed approach.展开更多

Methods A new concept of dynamic equilibrium of a system and its stability were presented first. It was pointed out that what is controlled directly by the input of a control system is the system's dynamic equilibrium rather than the states. Based on it, a new feedback linearization method for nonlinear system based on the Lyapunov direct method was given. Simulation studies were also carried out. Results The example and simulation show that by use of the method, the controller design becomes very simple and the control effect is quite satisfying. Conclusion The new method unifies the stabilizing problem(regulating problem) with the tracking problem. It is a very simple and effective method for the design of nonlinear and time varying control system.展开更多

Utilizing the information of both the lower and the upper bounds of the interval time-varying delay, a novel Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional is constructed. The delay-dependent sufficient criteria are derived in terms of linear matrix inequalities (LMIs), which can be easily checked by the LMI in the Matlab toolbox. Based on the Jensen integral inequality, neither model transformations nor bounding techniques for cross terms is employed, so the derived criteria are less conservative than the existing results. Meanwhile, the computational complexity of the obtained stability conditions is reduced because no redundant matrix is introduced. A numerical example is given to show the effectiveness and the benefits of the proposed method.展开更多

Stability of such polynomials is analyzed. Under the condition that one extreme of the edge is stable, the stability radius of edge polynomials with variable length is characterized in terms of the real spectral radius of the matrix H -1 ( f 0) H (g) , where both H (f 0) and H (g) are Hurwitz like matrices. Based on this result, stability radius of control systems with interval type plants and first order controllers are determined.展开更多

Methods To use the linearized analysis methods and a special model in which the effect of ligamentous and passive resitance by discs and fibers is included. Results The model is capable of predicting the muscle forces, and joint reaction forces at the L5/Sl which are the biomechani- cal factors used to asses the risk of the discs and annulus fibers. Conclusions It can also be used to analyze and neural excitation levels for a diverse Set of trunk movement.展开更多

The periodic time-varying equations of motion are developed thr ough building a new 24DOF coupled rigid/elastic blended element based on the fle xible multibody system theory in this paper. It accounts for the effects of prec one, sweep, and the moderately large elastic deflections on the blade and elasti city of shaft and fuselage of the helicopter. The dynamic coupling between the r igid motion of blades about the flap, lag and pitch hinges of articulated rotor and moderately large elastic deflections are included. There is no restriction o n the rotation amplitudes of flap, lag and pitch in the formulation. The stabili ty of periodic solution is studied using the Floquet theory. The transition matr ix is calculated by the Newmark integration method. The aeromechanical stability of a new helicopter is studied. The results show that it is stable in the given forward flight. But the instability arises with the decrease of the bending and torsion stiffness of the shaft.展开更多

The first layer describes the indi-vidual flocking behavior to the local goal position (the center of minimal circumcircle decided by the neighbors in the positive visual set of individuals) resulting from the individual motion to one or two farthest neighbors in its positive visual set; the second layer describes the emergent aggregating swarm behavior resulting from the individual motion to its local goal position. The scale of the swarm will not be limited because only local individual information is used for modelling in the two-layer topology. We study the stability properties of the swarm emergent behavior based on Lyapunov stability theory. Simulations showed that the swarm system can converge to goal regions while maintaining cohesiveness.展开更多
