The treatment group was intervened by acupoint massage on the face and head plus moxibustion at Yongquan (KI 1);the control group was intervened only by the same acupoint massage. For both groups, the treatment was given once a day, and the therapeutic efficacy was evaluated after 4-week treatment. 〈br〉 Results:The total effective rate was 93.3%in the treatment group versus 80.0%in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant (P〈0.05). 〈br〉 Conclusion:Acupoint massage plus moxibustion can produce a better efficacy than acupoint massage alone in treating refractory insomnia.展开更多

Methods: A total of 70 patients with LIDH were randomized into an observation group and a control group, with 35 cases in each group. The observation group was treated with acupuncture at abdomen acupoints plus tuina, while the control group was treated only with tuina treatment. The clinical efficacy was observed after one course of treatment. Results: The cure rate and the total effective rate of the observation group were 83.3% and 96.7%, respectively. The cure rate and the total effective rate of the control group were 39.4% and 78.8%, respectively. There were significant differences in the cured rate and the total effective rate between the two groups (both P<0.05). There was no significant differenee in Japanese Orthopedic Association (JOA) score between the two groups before treatment (P>0.05). After treatment, the JOA scores of both groups in creased sign ifica ntly, and the in tra-group differe nces were statistically sign ifica nt (both P<0.05);the JOA score of the observation group was significantly higher than that of the control group (P<0.05). Conclusion: Acupuncture at abdomen acupoints plus tuina has a better therapeutic effect than tuina alone in the treatment of LIDH.展开更多

Methods:A total of 68 elderly patients with hypertension were enrolled, and their ages were all over 60 years old. They were divided into a control group and a treatment group by simple random method, with 34 cases in each group. Patients in the control group were treated by routine psychological health guidance and sleep knowledge education, while patients in the treatment group were treated by acupoint massage on the base of the interventions given to the control group. Both of their treatment courses were 3 months. Pittsburgh sleep quality index (PSQI) scores and mini-mental state examination (MMSE) scores before and after treatment were recorded and compared. Results:Two groups’ PSQI scores before treatment had no significant difference (P〉0.05). After 3 months of treatment, their PSQI scores were statistically different (P〈0.05). There was also no between-group statistical difference in MMSE score before treatment (P〉0.05), but there was a significant difference after treatment (P〈0.05). Conclusion:Acupoint massage for elderly patients with primary hypertension can improve their sleep quality and enhance their cognitive function, thus it is worthy of being applied in clinical nursing work.展开更多

Methods: A total of 70 CP children with spleen deficiency were randomly allocated into a treatment group (n=35) and a control group (n=35). Children in the treatment group were treated with comprehensive rehabilitation training, Nie-pinching spine, point application and point injection, whereas children in the control group were treated with comprehensive rehabilitation training and oral administration of multi-enzyme tablets. One course of treatment made up of 20 d. There was a 20-day interval between two courses. The cases were treated for a total of 3 courses. Then the therapeutic efficacies were evaluated using scores of spleen-deficiency symptoms and gross motor function measure (GMFM). Results: After 3 courses of treatment, the total effective rates for spleen-deficiency symptoms and rehabilitation were 85.7% and 77.1% respectively in the treatment group, versus 51.4% and 57.1% respectively in the control group, showing statistical differences (both P〈0.05). Conclusion: In addition to comprehensive rehabilitation training, Nie-pinching spine combined with point application and injection obtained better effects than oral administration of multi-enzyme tablets.展开更多
