Under microscopic observation, the micro-filaments of the distal end of the dorsal root were carefully separated after tearing the spinal pia mater to attach to a recording electrode. The reference electrode was placed beneath the skin of the incision. Two caudal and two rostral dorsal roots near the recorded one were cut off separately. Electrical activity of the isolated micro-filaments was observed before and after EA of "Daling" (PC 7) -"Jianshi" (PC 5), "Quze" (PC 3) of PC Meridian, "Yangchi"(TE 4)- "Zhigou" (TE 6), "Tianjing" (TE 10)-" Qin-glengyuan" (TE 11) of the Triple Energizer (TE) Meridian with electric current 1 mA and 2 mA and double pulses. Results: ① After EA (1 mA) of "Daling"(PC 7)-"Jianshi"(PC 5), the firing rates of 3 out of 10 (33.3%) micro-filaments in C5 segment, 5 out of 10 (50.0%) in C6, 7 out of 10 (70.0%) in 07, 3 out of 10 (30.0%) in C8 and 3 out of 13 (23. 1%) in T1 increased considerably;and after EA of "Quze" (PC 3), those of 3/10 of C5, 4/10 of C6, 6/10 of C7, 3/10 of C8, and 3/10 of T1 increased significantly. ② After EA (1 mA) of "Yangchi"(TE 4)- "Zhigou" (TE 6) and "Tianjing" (TE 10)- "Qinglengyuan" (TE 11). the firing rates of 2/10, 2/10 of micro-filaments In C5, 7/10, 3/10 of C6, 5/10 and 4/10 of C7, 1/10 and 1/10 of C8, and 2/13 and 1/10 of T1 increased significantly. It indicates that C7 dorsal root may play the first important role in conveying EA signals from PC Meridian acupoints to the spinal cord, while C6 and C7 may be mainly responsible for conveying EA signals from TE Meridian acupoints to the spinal cord. Conclusion: The peripheral afferent pathway for transmitting EA signals from PC Meridian acupoints probably has a relative specificity.展开更多

Methods Sixty-two cases were randomly divided into 2 groups, named acupoint application group (32 cases) and Chinese herb group (30 cases). In the acupoint application group, Chinese herbal plaster was applied on Tianshu (天枢 ST 25), Gufnyuan (关元 CV 4) and Qihai (气海 CV 6). In the Chinese herb group, Congrong Tongbian Koufuye (苁蓉通便口服液) was administered orally. The efficacy was observed after 7 days treatment. Results The total effective rate was 81.3% (26/32) in the acupoint application group and was 60.0% (18/30) in the Chinese herb group, indicating significant statistical difference in comparison (P〈0.05). The significant difference presented in the time of the first defecation after treatment between two groups (P〈0.05). The defecation promotion in the acupoint appli- cation group was superior to that in the Chinese herb group. The significant difference resulted in the comparison of clinical symptom integral before and after treatment in two groups (P〈0. 05). The group comparison did not present significant difference. Conclusion Acupoint application of Chinese herbs has definite efficacy on constipation. It is convenient in operation, no pain and less toxic side effect and good in compliance.展开更多

It can be seen that "dry needling" therapy is actually a kind of differentiation of traditional Chinese acupuncture- moxibustion in the international communication. The spread of traditional Chinese acupuncture-moxibustion in the West is the basis for the invention of "dry needling" therapy, and "dry needling" therapy develops and enriches traditional Chinese acupuncture-moxibustion.展开更多

Methods: A total of 72 participants who met the in clusi on criteria were en rolled in a ran domized con trolled trial, with 36 cases allocated to a treatment group and 36 cases allocated to a control group. Both groups were given dexzopiclone as the routine treatment. Patients in the treatment group were given auricular acupressure with Wang Bu Liu Xing (Semen Vaccariae) seeds at the auricular acupoints related to sleep and emotion based on meridian theory, whereas for patients in the control group, the medical plasters with Wang Bu Liu Xing (Semen Vaccariae) seeds were only gently stuck to acupoints unrelated to sleep without stimulation. Patients in both groups were required to visit the hospital once a week for replacing the seeds and plasters. The course of intervention lasted for 8 weeks and the patients were followed up for another 4 weeks. Pittsburgh sleep quality index (PSQI) and Karolinska sleep diary (KSD) were used to evaluate the outcomes. Meanwhile, adverse effects were monitored and recorded. Results: In the enrolled 72 cases, 4 patients (one in the treatment group and three in the control group) reported thirst and a bitter taste, and one case in the control group reported nausea and vomiting. At last, 3 cases in the control group dropped out for adverse reactions, and 69 cases completed the clinical trial. After 8 weeks of treatment, the global scores of PSQI in both treatment and control groups decreased significantly compared with the baseline (both PvO.001). Furthermore, the global score of PSQI in the treatment group was lower than that in the control group (P<0.01). The global scores of PSQI in both groups at the follow-up were significantly different from the baseline (both PvO.001), but insignificantly different compared with the post-treatment results (both P>0.05). According to KSD, both treatment protocols could prolong the total sleep time, shorten sleep-onset latency, improve sleep efficacy and sleep quality significantly, and the changes in the treatment group were more significant. The total effective rate was 88.9% in the treatment group, higher than 81.8% in the control group, though the difference was statistically insignificant (P>0.05). Con elusion: Dexzopicl one plus auricular acupressure is effective and safe for pati ents with primary in somnia both in short and long terms, and it is more effective tha n mono therapy of dexzopicl one.展开更多

文摘Objective:To observe the clinical efficacy of auricular needle-embedding therapy for treating primary insomnia. Methods:A total of 63 patients were randomly divided into a conventional acupuncture group and an auricular needleembedding group. The conventional acupuncture group received acupuncture at meridian points, while the auricular needle-embedding group received acupuncture at auricular points.Treatments were given once a day for 6 consecutive days, followed by a 1-day break,as a course of treatment. Both groups were treated for 2 courses. Before treatment, and after 1 course and 2 courses of treatment, the Pittsburgh sleep quality index(PSQI)score was assessed, and the efficacy was evaluated. Results:The cured and markedly effective rate and total effective rate of the auricular needle-embedding group were higher than those of the conventional acupuncture group, but there was no significant difference between the two groups(P>0.05).After 1 course of treatment, the PSQI global score and the scores of subjective sleep quality, sleep latency, sleep duration, habitual sleep efficiency, and daytime dysfunction of both groups decreased compared with those before treatment(P<0.01);there was no statistical significance in comparing the PSQI global score and individual component scores between the two groups(P>0.05).After 2 courses of treatment, the PSQI global score and the scores of sleep latency and habitual sleep efficiency of the auricular needle-embedding group decreased compared with those after 1 course of treatment(P<0.01 or P<0.05),while only the score of sleep latency of the conventional acupuncture group decreased compared with that after 1 course of treatment(P<0.05);the PSQI global score and the scores of subjective sleep quality and sleep latency of the auricular needle-embedding group were lower than those of the conventional acupuncture group(P<0.05).Conclusion:Both therapies can improve insomnia.Compared to conventional acupuncture, auricular needleembedding therapy demonstrates a therapeutic advantage in improving sleep latency and sleep quality, making it worthy of clinical promotion.
文摘Objective:To observe the clinical efficacy of back-Shu and front-Mu points combination needling on balance and walking function in patients after stroke and its mechanism. Methods:A total of 79 patients with post-stroke balance and walking dysfunction were randomly divided into a control group and an observation group. Both groups received conventional treatments such as dietary guidance and oral medications as well as rehabilitation training. On this basis, the control group was treated with additional conventional acupuncture, and the observation group was treated with additional back-Shu and front-Mu points combination needling. Both groups were treated for 4 consecutive weeks. The thickness of abdominal muscle group(transverse abdominal muscle, rectus abdominis, obliquus internus abdominis, and obliquus externus abdominis),the scores of Berg balance scale(BBS),Fugl-Meyer assessment(FMA),and functional ambulation categories(FAC),and walking velocity and stride were compared between the two groups. Results:During the trial, there was 1 dropout case in the control group and 4 dropout cases in the observation group. Before treatment, there were no statistical differences in the abdominal muscle group thickness, scores of BBS,FMA,and FAC,and walking velocity and stride between the two groups(P>0.05).After 4 weeks of treatment, the thickness of abdominal muscle groups, scores of BBS,FMA,and FAC,and walking velocity and stride in both groups were improved(P<0.01),and the observation group was superior to the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion:Both conventional acupuncture and back-Shu and front-Mu points combination needling are conducive to the improvement of balance and walking function in patients after stroke. The back-Shu and front-Mu points combination needling method has better curative efficacy.Strengthening the core muscle group strength may be one of the mechanisms of back-Shu and front-Mu points combination needling treatment.
文摘Objective To explore the efficacy and safety of acupoint application in treatment of constipation. It is convenient in operation, no pain and less toxic side effect and good in compliance.
文摘In this paper, the authors studied the manipulation of "dry needling", reviewed Chinese ancient and modern literature of acupuncture-moxibustion, and found that "dry needling" is very similar to triple needling, superficial needling, joint valley needling, surround needling, and other traditional Chinese acupuncture- moxibustion manipulations; even if in modern China, before and after the invention of "dry needling", some unique therapies, such as oblique insertion therapy at Ashi point, sliver needling, Fu's subcutaneous needling, and long-round needling, were also invented. It can be seen that "dry needling" therapy is actually a kind of differentiation of traditional Chinese acupuncture- moxibustion in the international communication. The spread of traditional Chinese acupuncture-moxibustion in the West is the basis for the invention of "dry needling" therapy, and "dry needling" therapy develops and enriches traditional Chinese acupuncture-moxibustion.
文摘Objective To probe into therapeutic effect of acupuncture at Tiānzōng(天宗 ST 11) with Canggui Tanxue method on periarthritis of shoulder. Methods Sixty cases of periarthritis of shoulder were treated by acupuncture at Tiānzōng(天宗 SI 11) with Canggui Tanxue method. The treatment was given once each day,and the needle was retained for 20 min,5 treatments constituting one course. After 3 courses, therapeutic effects were observed. Results Thirty-six cases were cured,15 cases were markedly effective,8 cases were effective and one case was ineffective, with a total effective rate of 98.3%(59/60).Conclusion Acupuncture at Tiānzōng(天宗 SI 11) with Canggui Tanxue method has an obvious therapeutic effect on periarthritis of shoulder.
文摘Objective To observe clinical therapeutic effects of integrative acupuncture therapy on gonarthrosis. Methods One hundred and sixty cases of gonarthrosis were randomly divided into two groups (80 cases in each group) : an observation group treated by electroacupuncture (EA) plus massage at points and a control group treated with conventional medicine. Results In the observation group, the cured rate was 57.50%, and the effective rate was 88.75%. In the control group, the cured rate was 36.25%, and the effective rate was 73.75%. The differences between the two groups in the cured rate and the total effective rate were of significance (X^2-test, P〈0. 01, P〈0.05). Conclusion EA combined with massage at points is definitely effective in treating gonarthrosis.

文摘Objective:To investigate the effects of acupoint massage on cognitive function and sleep quality in elderly patients with hypertension. Methods:A total of 68 elderly patients with hypertension were enrolled, and their ages were all over 60 years old. They were divided into a control group and a treatment group by simple random method, with 34 cases in each group. Patients in the control group were treated by routine psychological health guidance and sleep knowledge education, while patients in the treatment group were treated by acupoint massage on the base of the interventions given to the control group. Both of their treatment courses were 3 months. Pittsburgh sleep quality index (PSQI) scores and mini-mental state examination (MMSE) scores before and after treatment were recorded and compared. Results:Two groups’ PSQI scores before treatment had no significant difference (P〉0.05). After 3 months of treatment, their PSQI scores were statistically different (P〈0.05). There was also no between-group statistical difference in MMSE score before treatment (P〉0.05), but there was a significant difference after treatment (P〈0.05). Conclusion:Acupoint massage for elderly patients with primary hypertension can improve their sleep quality and enhance their cognitive function, thus it is worthy of being applied in clinical nursing work.
文摘Objective: To observe the efficacy and safety of dexzopiclone plus auricular acupressure in intervening primary insomnia. Con elusion: Dexzopicl one plus auricular acupressure is effective and safe for pati ents with primary in somnia both in short and long terms, and it is more effective tha n mono therapy of dexzopicl one.
