Matching spatial relation graphs using a constrained partial permutation strategy

A constrained partial permutation strategy is proposed for matching spatial relation graph (SRG), which is used in our sketch input and recognition system Smart Sketchpad for representing the spatial relationship among the components of a graphic object. Using two kinds of matching constraints dynamically generated in the matching process, the proposed approach can prune most improper mappings between SRGs during the matching process. According to our theoretical analysis in this paper, the time complexity of our approach is O(n 2) in the best case, and O(n!) in the worst case, which occurs infrequently. The spatial complexity is always O(n) for all cases. Implemented in Smart Sketchpad, our proposed strategy is of good performance. 展开更多

The paper presents a set of techniques of digital watermarking by which copyright and user rights messages are hidden into geo-spatial graphics data,as well as techniques of compressing and encrypting the watermarked geo-spatial graphics data.The technology aims at tracing and resisting the illegal distribution and duplication of the geo-spatial graphics data product,so as to effectively protect the data producer's rights as well as to facilitate the secure sharing of geo-spatial graphics data.So far in the CIS field throughout the world,few researches have been made on digital watermarking.The research is a novel exploration both in the field of security management of geo-spatial graphics data and in the applications of digital watermarking technique.An application software employing the proposed technology has been developed.A number of experimental tests on the 1:500,000 digital bathymetric chart of the South China Sea and 1:10,000 digital topographic map of Jiangsu Province have been conducted to verify the feasibility of the proposed technology. 展开更多

This paper presents debris-flow numerical simulations using the Hyper KANAKO system,developed by the authors.The system uses the debris flow simulator KANAKO 2D equipped with a graphical user interface(GUI);hence,a user can easily produce appropriate landform data for simulations using standard laser profiler data,and visualize the results using a GIS.Hyper KANAKO was applied to the streams around Kiyomizu-dera in Kyoto,Japan.Kiyomizu-dera is a famous temple in Japan which is visited by numerous tourists throughout the year.We simulated a disaster scenario of debris flow caused by torrential rain.We set the hydrograph using rainfall intensity data,and set the landform data using information from the Geospatial Information Authority of Japan(GSI) and a digital elevation model(DEM).We evaluated different mesh sizes and also used a digital surface model(DSM) to consider the building heights.The simulation results showed that with small mesh size,the debris flowmoved through the roads,which seems realistic for a disaster situation.When buildings were considered,the flow direction changed,and a 1-m flow depth,which was deeper than in other cases,appeared in the flow path.This may pose a dangerous situation for evacuations. 展开更多

Geographical Space Development Zone Classification:An Essential Guide for Transformation of Mountain Resource Cities 被引量:1

Transformation of mountain resource cities is facing tremendous difficulties. In the context of National Major Function-oriented Zone Planning raised to a national strategic level in China, it is important to effectively implement the planning by studying geographical space development zone classification of prefecture- and county-level cities based on their major function orientation. This research is even more critical for the transformation of mountain resource cities. In this study, we evaluated geographical space development suitability, and classified geographical space development zones for Dongchuan Distric in Kunming City of Yunan Province, China, a typical mountain resource city. A quantitative grid-based evaluation was conducted using key-factor identification and restrictive-supportive comprehensive index determinati based on a geographic information system framework with different source data. The results included a classification of geographical space of Dongchuan into five types: the prohibited development zone, the inappropriate development zone, the controlled development zone, the moderate development zone and the preferential development zone. The distribution characteristics of geographical space development zones showed that the proportion of the prohibited development zone is the highest, while that of the other four development zones is comparatively lower and significantly fragmented. The geographical space development suitability is greatly controlled by the geomorphic pattern. Although Dongchuan is extremely restrained in terms of suitable geographical space for industrialization and urbanization, it still has the certain preferential and moderate development zones with an area of 207.81 km2 with large parts being concentrated and contiguous, which makes these areas the most favorable for development. Only by adapting to this reality and implementing centralized development strategy in the regions with higher suitability may Dongchuan achieve smooth transformation from expansion mode to compact mode and its sustainable development capacity may be improved. Suggestions with an angle of industrial and spatial development pattern were put forward for the transformation of the city in future. 展开更多

The possibilities of arbitrarily spatially shaping the result of a nonlinear interaction are presented for different phase-matching schemes allowing for both one- and two-dimensional shaping. Shaping the spectrum of a beam in nonlinear interaction is also possible by utilizing similar holographic techniques. The novel and complete control of the output of a nonlinear interaction opens exciting options in the fields of particle manipulation, optical communications, spectroscopy and quantum information. 展开更多

Under the growth conditions w = o(log z) and w = o(r), two Bernstein type theorems for M in Rm^n+m are got, where z and r are the pseudo-Euclidean distance and the distance function on M to some fixed point respectively. As the ambient space is a curved pseudo- Riemannian product of two Riemannian manifolds (∑1,g1) and (∑2,g2) of dimensions n and m, a Bernstein type result for n =2 under some curvature conditions on E1 and E2 and the growth condition w = o(r) is also got. As more general cases, under some curvature conditions on the ambient space and the growth condition w = o(r) or w = o(√r), the author concludes that if M has parallel mean curvature, then M is maximal. 展开更多

Patterning ultrathin MoS2 layers with regular edges or controllable shapes is appealing since the properties of MoS2 sheets are sensitive to the edge structures. In this work, we have introduced a simple, effective and well-controlled technique to etch layered MoS2 sheets with well-oriented equilateral triangular pits by simply heating the samples in air. The anisotropic oxidative etching is greatly affected by the surrounding temperature and the number of MoS2 layers, whereby the pit sizes increase with the increase of surrounding temperature and the number of MoS2 layers. First-principles computations have been performed to explain the formation mechanism of the triangular pits. This technique offers an alternative avenue to engineering the structure of MoS2 sheets. 展开更多

A spatial pyramidal cross-correlation based on interrogation area sub-division is introduced to improve the measurement resolution in particle image velocimetry(PIV). The high-resolution velocity can be achieved with a velocity prediction model via coarse cross-correlation. The prediction formula is deduced from the frequency response of the moving average(MA). The performance of this method was assessed using synthetically generated images of sinusoidal shear flow, two-dimensional vortical cellular flow, and homogeneous turbulence. A real PIV experiment of turbulent boundary layer was used to evaluate the new method. The results indicate that the spatial pyramid cross-correlation can robustly increase the spatial resolution. 展开更多

In this paper we propose a service-oriented architecture for spatial data integration (SOA-SDI) in the context of a large number of available spatial data sources that are physically sitting at different places, and develop web-based GIS systems based on SOA-SDI, allowing client applications to pull in, analyze and present spatial data from those available spatial data sources. The proposed architecture logically includes 4 layers or components; they are layer of multiple data provider services, layer of data in-tegration, layer of backend services, and front-end graphical user interface (GUI) for spatial data presentation. On the basis of the 4-layered SOA-SDI framework, WebGIS applications can be quickly deployed, which proves that SOA-SDI has the potential to reduce the input of software development and shorten the development period. 展开更多
