The results, both field measurement and numerical simulation show that gob-side entry driving results the deformation of coal roadway main wall, however, entity-coal roadway driving results deformation of main roof and floor. The maintenance state of gob-side entry driving is better than entity-coal roadway, this situation is relevant to thick composite roof layered and easy collapse characteristics. At the same time, this paper put fox'ward and proved proper dynamic pressure roadway supporting scheme under the surrounding rock condition and stress environment.展开更多

However, it has not been able to be applied in the No.10-2 seam since the small interburden (2 m) between No.9 and No.10-2 seam. The No.9 and No.10-2 seams are contiguous seams. The No.9 seam has been mined out and the No.10-2 seam will be mined under the gob of the No.9 seam. The roof strata of the No.10-2 seam may have been weakened and fractured due to the shear failure caused by the No.9 seam mining activities. The steel beam sets spaced at 0.8 m have been used to support the entry of the No.10-2 seam. In order to speed up the advance rate and cut entry development cost, a test area, using roof bolt in conjunction with truss-system, was successfully conducted. This paper presents the support system design, application of designed system, and the test results. Test results provide a cheaper, quicker, and safer way to support entry for the No.10-2 seam.展开更多

Based on features of surrounding rock structures in the...The stability of a backfill wall is critical to implement gob-side entry driving technology in which a small coal pillar is substituted by a waste backfill wall. Based on features of surrounding rock structures in the backfill wall, we propose a mechanical model on the structural effect of a soft-hard backfill wall using theory analysis, physical experiments and a numerical simulation. The results show thatChe deformation of the structure of the soft-hard backfill wall is coordinated with the roof and floor. The soft structure on the top of the backfill wall can absorb the energy in the roof by its large deformation and adapt to the given deformation caused by the rotation and subsidence of a key rock block. The hard structure at the bottom of the backfill wall can absorb the strong supporting resistance from the top surrounding rock. The soft structure on the top protecting the hard bottom structure by its large deformation contributes to the stability of the entire backfill wall. An application indicated that the stress in the backfill wall effec- tively decreased and its deformation was significantly reduced after the top coal remained. Aiming to effectively solve the problem of deep mining with safety and high efficiency, according to geological conditions, production and stress analysis in roadway surrounding rock, experimental studies on roadway s...Aiming to effectively solve the problem of deep mining with safety and high efficiency, according to geological conditions, production and stress analysis in roadway surrounding rock, experimental studies on roadway supporting of workface 103 under three types of roof conditions with different supporting technologies and parameters were carried out based on the theory of supporting technology of gob-side entry. The results show the supporting of gob-side entry retaining is successful, and the deep surrounding rock is effectively controlled by field monitoring and drilling-hole photos. After stress in surrounding rock of roadways restores stable, the final roadway deformation of surrounding rock of haulage roadway and air-roadway are both about 300 mm; width of gob-side entry is 3.8-4.0 m and average height is 2.0-2.2 m; roadway section is above 8.0 m^2, which solves the problems of gob-side entry retaining support strength and safe mining; necessary conditions of mining safety in workface 103 are met.展开更多

Through site visit, theoretical analysis and discrete element calculation, the research shows that, as the mining deepens, underground stress of lower sublevels is more obvious and higher than that of upper sublevels and is higher in the air return roadway than that in the air intake roadway in the area that is near to the top coal. Because the top coal is thick and gangue is caved above the support, underground pressure to the working face is relatively gentle. Immediate roof will mainly fall down along the floor. Main roof and the rock bed above the main roof will move to the mined out area along the fault in the early stage and then fall down with the mined out area later. In addition, roof pressure mainly periodically appears in two directions along the trend and the dip.展开更多
