SQL and its extended v...GML is becoming the de facto standard for electronic data exchange among the applications of Web and distributed geographic information systems. However, the conventional query languages (e. g. SQL and its extended versions) are not suitable for direct querying and updating of GML documents. Even the effective approaches working well with XML could not guarantee good results when applied to GML documents. Although XQuery is a powerful standard query language for XML, it is not proposed for querying spatial features, which constitute the most important components in GML documents. We propose GQL, a query language specification to support spatial queries over GML documents by extending XQuery. The data model, algebra, and formal semantics as well as various spatial Junctions and operations of GQL are presented in detail.展开更多
With rapid development of urbanization and regional interaction and interdependence, regional urban agglomeration planning becomes more and more important in China, in order to promote integrated development of variou...With rapid development of urbanization and regional interaction and interdependence, regional urban agglomeration planning becomes more and more important in China, in order to promote integrated development of various cities with close interrelationship. However, it is still arguable academically on how to define the boundary or which cities to be included for the urban agglomeration of a region. This paper aims to shed lights on how to identify urban spheres of influence scientifically by introducing field modeling method and by practicing a case study on 168 cities in Central China. In our field modeling method, the influence intensities of cities were measured by a compre-ensive index and urban spheres of influence were represented spatially by field intensity. Then, their classification and spatial distribution characteristics of study area in 2007 were identified and explored by using GIS and statistical methods. The result showed that: 1) Wuhan is the absolute dominant city in Central China; 2) the provincial capital cities dominate their own provinces and there are no other lower grade agglomeration centers; and 3) the basic types of organization form of urban sphere of influence are single-polar type, agglomeration type, close-related group type and loose-related group type.展开更多

In this paper, we p...Using conventional Mean Shift Algorithm to segment high spatial resolution Remote sensing images of mountainous areas usually leads to an unsatisfactory result, due to its rich texture information. In this paper, we propose an improved Mean Shift Algorithm in consideration of the characteristics of these images. First, images were classified into several homogeneous color regions and texture regions by conducting variance detection on the color space. Next, each homogeneous color region was directly segmented to generate the preliminary results by applying the Mean Shift Algorithm. For each texture region, we conduct a high-dimensional feature space by extracting information such as color, texture and shape comprehensively, and work out a proper bandwidth according to the normalized distribution density. Then the bandwidth variable Mean Shift Algorithm was applied to obtain segmentation results by conducting the pattern classification in feature space. Last, the final results were obtained by merging these regions by means of the constructed cost functions and removing the oversegmented regions from the merged regions. It has been experimentally segmented on the high spatial resolution remote sensing images collected by Quickbird and Unmanned Aerial Vehicle(UAV). We put forward an approach to evaluate the segmentation results by using the segmentation matching index(SMI). This takes into consideration both the area and the spectrum. The experimental results suggest that the improved Mean Shift Algorithm outperforms the conventional one in terms of accuracy of segmentation.展开更多

An index analysis model for constructing the comprehensive evaluation of sports modernization is constructed, spatial modeling of information feature distribution is taken based on nonlinear time series analysis method for comprehensive evaluation of sports modernization, control objective function of comprehensive evaluation of sports modernization is constructed by analytic hierarchy process, optimal control parameters is obtained and comprehensive evaluation and optimization of sports modernization are realized. The simulation results show that the method is applied in comprehensive evaluation modem sports, it has performance of high reliability and good accuracy.展开更多
Based on the observation that there exists multiple information in a pixel neighbor,such as distance sum and gray difference sum,local information enhanced LBP(local binary pattern)approach,i.e.LE-LBP,is presented.Geo...Based on the observation that there exists multiple information in a pixel neighbor,such as distance sum and gray difference sum,local information enhanced LBP(local binary pattern)approach,i.e.LE-LBP,is presented.Geometric information of the pixel neighborhood is used to compute minimum distance sum.Gray variation information is used to compute gray difference sum.Then,both the minimum distance sum and the gray difference sum are used to build a feature space.Feature spectrum of the image is computed on the feature space.Histogram computed from the feature spectrum is used to characterize the image.Compared with LBP,rotation invariant LBP,uniform LBP and LBP with local contrast,it is found that the feature spectrum image from LE-LBP contains more details,however,the feature vector is more discriminative.The retrieval precision of the system using LE-LBP is91.8%when recall is 10%for bus images.展开更多
