The theme of the forum was "Youth and Innovation-The Future of the Petroleum Industry". WPC president Eivald M.Q.R?ren pointed out in his opening speech: "It is one of the development strategies of WPC to enhance its attraction and particularly, to attract participation of youth and females. The reason is straightforward: to rejuvenate the oil and gas industry and to improve the innovation ability of the petroleum industry on the strength of science and technology". The Youth Forum is the first campaign focusing on young people in the 71- year history of WPC and is a groundbreaking activity of strategic significance. Participating representatives conducted profound and in-depth academic exchange. At the plenary meeting, 8 experts and senior executives delivered thought provoking speeches. Six group meetings focused on petroleum prospecting and development, petroleum refining and petrochemicals, the development of the alternatives for petroleum energy, the petroleum industry versus environmental and social responsibility, application of IT and other new technologies in the petroleum industry, as well as the role of management, H.R. and young people. Innovation achievements of young scholars in the field of petroleum technology and management were demonstrated here. In the technical sessions and academic exchanges, 52 outstanding young professionals aged below 35, presented their papers. In additions, 183 papers from young professionals were exhibited and discussed.展开更多
