The optimization method of excited capacitors to minimize the reactive power of the control winding at a variable speed is given. The calculation capacity of the machine with a diode bridge rectifier load is proposed. To achieve global searching, the integrated method with the improved real-coded genetic algorithm and the twodimensional finite element method (FEM) is introduced. Design results of the sample show that reactive power can be reduced by the method, and the converter capacity can be decreased to 1/3 of output rated power at the speed ratio of 1 : 3, thus reducing the volume and the mass of the inverter.展开更多

Then with the application of relat...First, the high-rise building structure design process is divided into three relevant steps, that is, scheme generation and creation, performance evaluation, and scheme optimization. Then with the application of relational database, the case database of high-rise structures is constructed, the structure form-selection designing methods such as the smart algorithm based on CBR, DM, FINS, NN and GA is presented, and the original forms system of this method and its general structure are given. CBR and DM are used to generate scheme candidates; FINS and NN to evaluate and optimize the scheme performance; GA to create new structure forms. Finally, the application cases are presented, whose results fit in with the real project. It proves by combining and using the expert intelligence, algorithm intelligence and machine intelligence that this method makes good use of not only the engineering project knowledge and expertise but also much deeper knowledge contained in various engineering cases. In other words, it is because the form selection has a strong background support of vast real cases that its results prove more reliable and more acceptable. So the introduction of this method provides an effective approach to improving the quality, efficiency, automatic and smart level of high-rise structures form selection design.展开更多

The physical process of high velocity fragment impact on a broadside liquid cabin was programmed for simulation. The numerical results agreed well with those of the general software ANSYS AUTODYN, which verifies the effectiveness and feasibility of the numerical method. From the perspective of the outer plate thickness of the liquid cabin, the width of the liquid cabin, and incident angle of the fragment, the influence of these parameters on protective mechanisms was analyzed to provide a basis for protective design of a broadside liquid cabin. Results show that the influence of outer plate thickness is not obvious; therefore, the conventional design can be adopted in the design of the outer plate. The width of the liquid cabin has a great influence on the residual velocity of the fragment and the width of the liquid cabin should be designed to be as wide as possible under the premise of meeting other requirements. There is a certain incident angle in which the velocity attenuation of the fragment is most obvious, and the high-pressure zone near the inner plate is asymmetric. The inner plate of liquid cabin should be strengthened according to the hull form, principal dimensions, and vulnerable points.展开更多

In this paper, the design of a passive vehicle seat suspension system was handled in the framework of linear optimization. The variance of the dynamic load resulting from the vibrating vehicle operating at a constant speed was used as the performance measure of a suspension system. Using 4-DOF human body model developed by Abbas et al., with linear seat suspension and coupled with half car model. A genetic algorithm is applied to solve the linear optimization problem. The optimal design parameters of the seat suspension systems obtained are kse = 3 012.5 N/m and cse = 1 210.4 N.s/m, respectively.展开更多

In order to obtain solutions that are not only "multi-objectively" optimal, but also reliable and robust, a probabilistic optimization method was presented by integrating six sigma philosophy and multi-objective genetic algorithm. With this method, multi-objective genetic algorithm was adopted to obtain the global Pareto solutions, and six sigma method was used to improve the reliability and robustness of those optimal solutions. Three mechanisms in ...In order to exploit the enhancement of the multi- objective evolutionary algorithm based on decomposition (MOEA/D), we propose an improved algorithm with uniform de- sign (UD), i.e. MOEA/D-UD. Three mechanisms in MOEA/D-UD are modified by introducing an experimental design method called UD. To fully employ the information contained in the domain of the multi-objective problem, we apply UD to initialize a uniformly scattered population. Then, motivated by the analysis of the re- lationship between weight vectors and optimal solutions of scalar subproblems in the study of MOEND with adaptive weight ad- justment (MOEA/D-AWA), a new weight vector design method based on UD is introduced. To distinguish real sparse regions from pseudo sparse regions, i.e. discontinuous regions, of the complex Pareto front, the weight vector adjustment strategy in MOEMD-UD adequately utilizes the information from neighbors of individuals. In the experimental study, we compare MOEA/D-UD with three outstanding algorithms, namely MOEA/D with the dif- ferential evolution operator (MOEA/D-DE), MOEA/D-AWA and the nondominated sorting genetic algorithm II (NSGA-II) on nineteen test instances. The experimental results show that MOEA/D-UD is capable of obtaining a well-converged and well diversified set of solutions within an acceptable execution time.展开更多
As an essential lifeline engineering system,water distribution network should provide enough water to maintain people's life after earthquake in addition to working under daily operation.However,the design of wate...As an essential lifeline engineering system,water distribution network should provide enough water to maintain people's life after earthquake in addition to working under daily operation.However,the design of water distribution network usually ignores the influence of earthquake,resulting in water stoppage in large area during many recent strong earthquakes.This study introduced a seismic design approach of water distribution network,i.e.,topology optimization design.With network topology as the optimization goal and seismic reliability as the constraint,a topology optimization model for designing water distribution network under earthquake is established.Meanwhile,two element investment importance indexes,a pipeline investment importance index and a diameter investment importance index,are introduced to evaluate the importance of pipelines in water distribution network.Then,four combinational optimization algorithms,a genetic algorithm,a simulated annealing genetic algorithm,an ant colony algorithm and a particle swarm algorithm,are introduced to solve this optimization model.Moreover,these optimization algorithms are used to optimize a network with 19 nodes and 27 pipelines.The optimization results of these algorithms are compared with each other.展开更多

We derive a general expression of the phase-shifting algorithm in grating lateral shearing interferometer and introduce the corresponding design method. Based on the expression and method, four phase-shifting algorithms are designed with different phase-shifting errors to obtain high measurement accuracy. A new 13-frame phase-shifting algorithm is designed and simulated with a large zeroth-order effect. Simulation results verify the general expression and the corresponding design method.展开更多
The optimal rendezvous trajectory designs in many current research efforts do not incorporate the practical uncertainties into the closed loop of the design.A robust optimization design method for a nonlinear rendezvo...The optimal rendezvous trajectory designs in many current research efforts do not incorporate the practical uncertainties into the closed loop of the design.A robust optimization design method for a nonlinear rendezvous trajectory with uncertainty is proposed in this paper.One performance index related to the variances of the terminal state error is termed the robustness performance index,and a two-objective optimization model(including the minimum characteristic velocity and the minimum robustness performance index)is formulated on the basis of the Lambert algorithm.A multi-objective,non-dominated sorting genetic algorithm is employed to obtain the Pareto optimal solution set.It is shown that the proposed approach can be used to quickly obtain several inherent principles of the rendezvous trajectory by taking practical errors into account.Furthermore,this approach can identify the most preferable design space in which a specific solution for the actual application of the rendezvous control should be chosen.展开更多
