The double degrees-of-freedom(DOFs)parallel model is adopted to analyze static vertical human-induced vibration with the finite element analysis(FEA)method. In the first-order symmetric vibration mode, the periods of the spring-mass model gradually decrease with the increase in K1 and K2,but they are always greater than the period of the add-on mass model.Meanwhile, the periods of the spring-mass model decrease with the decrease in m1 and m2,but they are always greater than the period of the hollow bridge model.Since the human's two degrees-of-freedom vibrate in the same direction as that of the bridge mid-span,the existence of human's rigidity leads to the reduction in the rigidity of the spring-mass model. In the second-order symmetric vibration mode, the changes of rigidity K2 and mass m2 result in the disappearance or occurrence of some vibration modes. It can be concluded that compared with the spring-mass model, the results of the add-on mass model lean to lack of safety to the structure;besides, the DOF with a smaller ratio of mass to rigidity plays the chief role in the vibration of the structure. 展开更多

To ascertain the influence of the boundary friction on mechanical properties of disc-spring vibration isolators a load-displacement hysteresis curve formula of disc-spring vibration isolators is derived on the basis of the energy conservation law as well as considering the effect of the boundary friction. The formula is validated through the finite element analysis and static load tests. On this basis the effect of the boundary friction on the bearing capacity is researched. Then the dynamic performance of disc-spring vibration isolators is studied by dynamic tests. The experimental results indicate that the boundary friction can promise a larger damping with a ratio of 0.23 for disc-spring vibration isolators.Compared with the loading frequency the loading amplitude has a greater impact on the energy consumption dynamic stiffness and damping of vibration isolators. This research can provide valuable information for the design of disc-spring vibration isolators. 展开更多

Based on the statics theory, a novel and feasible twice-suspended-mass method(TSMM) was proposed to deal with the seldom-studied issue of fault diagnosis for damping springs of large vibrating screen(LVS). With the static balance characteristic of the screen body/surface as well as the deformation compatibility relation of springs considered, static model of the screen surface under a certain load was established to calculate compression deformation of each spring. Accuracy of the model was validated by both an experiment based on the suspended mass method and the properties of the 3D deformation space in a numerical simulation. Furthermore, by adopting the Taylor formula and the control variate method, quantitative relationship between the change of damping spring deformation and the change of spring stiffness, defined as the deformation sensitive coefficient(DSC), was derived mathematically, from which principle of the TSMM for spring fault diagnosis is clarified. In the end, an experiment was carried out and results show that the TSMM is applicable for diagnosing the fault of single spring in a LVS. 展开更多

By ANSYS, dynamic simulation analysis of rubber spring supporting equipment used in vibrating screen was made. The modal frequency, mode, and harmonic displacement under working frequency were obtained. Variation of rubber spring supporting equipment's dynamic performance was discussed first, which is under the condition of existing spring stiffness difference and exciting force bias. Also, the quantitative calculation formulas were given. The results indicate that the performance of vibrating screen is closely related with rubber spring supporting equipment's dynamic performance. Differences of springs' stiffness coefficients reduce the modal frequency reduced, decrease the dynamic stiffness, and increase vibration displacement. Exciting force bias induces a larger lateral displacement. When rubber springs' stiffness coefficients exist, differences and lateral force accounts for 5% in total exciting force; rubber spring supporting equipment's side swing is larger than 1 mm, exceeding the side swing limit. 展开更多

To improve the efficiency and amplify the exciting force of a shake table,a novel variable stiffness mechanism(VSM)constructed by four leaf spring-lever combinations(LSLCs)was designed.Three VSMs were installed in parallel on the traditional hydraulic shake table to constitute a resonant shake table(RST).The static model of the VSM and the dynamic model of the RST were constructed by considering the large deflection of leaf springs and the geometrical nonlinearity of L-shaped levers. The variable stiffness property of LSLCs was analyzed and verified through static experiments. The simulation and vibration experiments on the dynamic properties of the RST prototype were conducted. The results show that compared with traditional shake tables, the RST consumes lower exciting force in a specified frequency bandwidth when outputting the same displacement of vibration.Under a harmonic vibrational excitation, the RST is effective for vibration enhancement using broadband frequency resonance and can save energy to some extent. The broadband resonance technology exhibits considerable potential in practical engineering applications. 展开更多

The chattering noise problem of reed switch sensor signal for Automatic Meter Reading system was analyzed experimentally under various types of external vibrations and shocks. The external vibration level amplitude was measured with an accelerometer. To apply for water flow measurement devices, the reed switch sensors should keep high reliability. But the measured digital meter data are occurred difference or errors by chattering noise. The reed switch contains chattering error by itself at the force equivalent position. The vibrations such as passing vehicle near to the reed switch installed location causes chattering. In order to reduce chattering error, most system uses just software methods, for example using digital filter algorithm and also statistical calibration methods. However software approaches were implemented for reducing chattering error, there has still generated chattering error due to external mechanical vibrations and magnetic field. The chattering errors can be reduced by changing leaf spring structure using mechanical hysteresis characteristics. 展开更多

The objective of this work was to study the vibration transmissibility characteristics of the undamped and damped smart spring systems. The frequency response characteristics of them were analyzed by using the equivalent linearization technique, and the possible types of the system motion were distinguished by using the starting and ending frequencies. The influences of system parameters on the vibration transmissibility characteristics were discussed. The following conclusions may be drawn from the analysis results. The undamped smart spring system may simultaneously have one starting frequency and one ending frequency or only have one starting frequency, and the damped system may simultaneously have two starting frequencies and one ending frequency. There is an optimal control parameter to make the peak value of the vibration transmissibility curve of the system be minimum. When the mass ratio is far away from the stiffness ratio, the vibration transmissibility is small. The effect of the damping ratio on the system vibration transmissibility is significant while the control parameter is less than its optimal value. But the influence of the relative damping ratio on the vibration transmissibility is small. 展开更多
