The cellular localization of Rubisco and Rubisco activase (RCA) in rice (Oryza sativa subsp. indica cv. Zhenong 952) leaf was investigated with immunogold-labeled electron microscope techniques on the basis of determining the diurnal changes of photosynthetic rate (Pn), Rubisco and RCA activities, and quantifying two enzyme contents in the leaf with immuno-diffusion method in order to understand why RCA activity decreased in the midday when its contents was high. The results showed that Rubisco mainly was located in chloroplast, and RCA were found both in chloroplast and mitochondria. The lowering of Rubisco in chloroplast as well as Rubisco activity at noon could be one of good reasons to explain the photosynthetic midday depression in leaf. The density of RCA in chloroplast reached the maximum at 14:00 and a valley at 11:00. The result much coincided with the activity of RCA in leaf. In mitochondria, the density of RCA changed abruptly in one day with the highest at 13:00 and it can well elucidate why the activities of Rubisco declined at noon when its amount was increasing. Therefore the cellular localization and/or distribution of Rubisco and RCA during a day is more important for Pn, Rubisco and RCA activities. 展开更多

Particle imaging velocimetry (PIV) is used to measure the gas liquid solid three phase flow field in a reactor. By image processing based on newly developed software, the number concentrations of sorbent particles and water droplets are presented. The effects of different reaction parameters on the preparation of Cu nanoparticles were studied. The optimum conditions for preparing well-dispersed nanoparticles were found as follows: 0.4 mol/L NaBH4 was added into solution containing 0.2 mol/L Cu2+, 1.0% gelatin dispersant in mass fraction, and 1.2 mol/L NH3?H2O at pH 12 and 313 K. In addition, a series of experiments were performed to discover the reaction process. NH3?H2O was found to be able to modulate the reaction process. At pH=10, Cu2+ was transformed to Cu(NH3)42+ as precursor after the addition of NH3?H2O, and then Cu(NH3)42+ was reduced by NaBH4 solution. At pH=12, Cu2+ was transformed to Cu(OH)2 as precursor after the addition of NH3?H2O, and Cu(OH)2 was then reduced by NaBH4 solution. 展开更多

The industrial silica fume pretreated by nitric acid at 80 °C was re-used in this work. Then, the obtained silica nanoparticles were surface functionalized by silane coupling agents, such as(3-Mercaptopropyl) triethoxysilane(MPTES) and(3-Amincpropyl) trithoxysilane(APTES). Some further modifications were studied by chloroaceetyl choride and 1,8-Diaminoaphalene for amino modified silica. The surface functionalized silica nanoparticles were characterized by Fourier transform infrared(FI-IR) and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS). The prepared adsorbent of surface functionalized silica nanoparticles with differential function groups were investigated in the selective adsorption about Pb2+, Cu2+, Hg2+, Cd2+ and Zn2+ions in aqueous solutions. The results show that the(3-Mercaptopropyl) triethoxysilane functionalized silica nanoparticles(SiO2-MPTES) play an important role in the selective adsorption of Cu2+ and Hg2+, the(3-Amincpropyl) trithoxysilane(APTES) functionalized silica nanoparticles(SiO2-APTES) exhibited maximum removal efficiency towards Pb2+ and Hg2+, the 1,8-Diaminoaphalene functionalized silica nanoparticles was excellent for removal of Hg2+ at room temperature, respectively. 展开更多

Aluminum alloy samples, 6061-T6 and 2219-T42, were exposed to Caribbean seawater for 90 d. The fluctuations of open circuit potential, considered as electrochemical noise (EN), were used to characterize and compare initial pitting events, which appeared on their surfaces. EN analysis was carried out using the power spectral density (PSD) vs frequency. The decrease of the β exponent in PSD graphs indicated a release of spontaneous energy with the progress of pit formation in seawater. The fluctuations were associated with the breakdown and formation of new corrosion layers. The values of β exponent in PSD graphs suggest that corrosion process of AA2219-T42 alloy occurs as a persistent non-stationary process, the dynamics of which is controlled by fractional Brownian motion (fBm), while on AA6061-T6 alloy the corrosion process was dominated by stationary and weakly persistent features, with the contribution of fractional Gaussian noise (fGn). After the exposure in seawater, SEM-EDX analysis revealed insoluble intermetallic particles on the alloys, rich in Cu or Fe and irregularly distributed. The preferential dissolution of Mg and Al occurs from the S-phase (Al2CuMg) of AA2219-T42 alloy. 展开更多

A superstructure that incorporates all feasible design alterna- tives for wastewater treatment, reuse and recycle, is synthesized with a non-linear programming model. An evolutionary approach--an improved particle swarm optimization is proposed for optimizing such systems. An application of multi-objective particle swarm optimization (MOPSO) algorithm for optimization of the hydrological model (HYMOD) is presented in this paper. MOPSO algorithm is used to find non-dominated solutions with two objectives: high flow Nash-Sutcliffe efficiency and low flow Nash- Sutcliffe efficiency. The two sets' coverage rate and Pareto front spacing metric are two criterions to analyze the performance of the algorithms. MOPSO algorithm surpasses multi-objective shuffled complex evolution metcopolis (MOSCEM_UA) algorithr~, in terms of the two sets' coverage rate. But when we come to Pareto front spacing rate, the non-dominated solutions of MOSCEM_ UA algorithm are better-distributed than that of MOPSO algorithm when the iteration is set to 40 000. In addition, there are obvious conflicts between the two objectives. But a compromise solution can be acquired by adopting the MOPSO algorithm. 展开更多

Water sensitivity phenomenon occurs during saline aquifer freshening process in seawater intrusion area, and clay particles released in the phenomenon can damage the infiltration capacity of the aquifer. In order to find out the factors and mechanisms for clay particle release, laboratory column infiltration experiments simulating saline aquifer freshening process were designed to measure the critical conditions(critical flow velocity, critical salt concentration and critical ionic strength) and force analysis for clay particle according to DLVO electric double layer theory was employed to illustrate the mechanisms for particle release. The research results showed that critical flow velocity for clay particle release is influenced by salt concentration of injecting solution. When salt concentration of injecting solution is very high, clay particles are not released, indicating that there does not exist a critical flow velocity in this situation. As salt concentration of injecting solution decreases, particles start to be released. The critical salt concentration for clay particle release is 0.052 mol L-1 in our work, which was determined by a constant-flux experiment for stepwise displacement of high concentration Na Cl solution. The critical ionic strength for clay particle release decreases as Ca2+ molar content percentage of the mixed solution of Na Cl and Ca Cl2 increases following the first-order exponential decay equation y = 0.0391e-0.266 x + 0.0015. 展开更多

S surface controllers have been proven to provide effective motion control for an autonomous underwater vehicle (AUV).However, it is difficult to adjust their control parameters manually.Choosing the optimum parameters for the controller of a particular AUV is a significant challenge.To automate the process, a modified particle swarm optimization (MPSO) algorithm was proposed.It was based on immune theory, and used a nonlinear regression strategy for inertia weight to optimize AUV control parameters.A semi-physical simulation system for the AUV was developed as a platform to verify the proposed control method, and its structure was considered.The simulation results indicated that the semi-physical simulation platform was helpful, the optimization algorithm has good local and global searching abilities, and the method can be reliably used for an AUV. 展开更多
