TiO2 nanoparticles with size of 5-100 nm were encapsulated by PANI via the "in situ" polymerization of aniline on the surface of TiO2 nanoparticles. IR, SEM, EPR techniques were used to characterize the mechanism of electron interaction in PANI/TiO2 nanocomposite. The resulting PANI-modified TiO2 composites exhibit significantly higher photocatalytic activity than that of neat PANI on degradation of MB (methylen blue) aqueous solution under UV irradiation.展开更多
Multi-drug delivery focuses on different signaling pathways in cancer cells and has synergistic antiproliferative effects.In this manuscript,we developed folic acid(FA)-conjugated polymeric multi-drug nanoparticles(FA...Multi-drug delivery focuses on different signaling pathways in cancer cells and has synergistic antiproliferative effects.In this manuscript,we developed folic acid(FA)-conjugated polymeric multi-drug nanoparticles(FA-PMDNPs)consisting of poly-L-lysine(PLL)and poly glutamic-conjugated PTX/GEM(PGA-PTX and PGA-GEM)for FA receptor-targeted synergistic breast cancer therapy.The carboxyl-rich structure of PGA provided plenty reaction sites and negative charge for drug loading.Transmission electron microscopy(TEM)results showed that FA-PMDNPs had uniform particle size and spherical morphology.The hemolysis study proved that FA-PMDNPs had good biocompatibility.In vitro cell viability and in vivo studies showed that FA-PMDNPs more effectively inhibited the proliferation of FA receptor(FR)-overexpressing breast cancer cells(4T1)than the pure drugs.Consequently,these results demonstrated that FA-PMDNPs could be effectively targeted at cancer cells compared with free drugs,indicating their strong potential as efficient multi-drug-carrying nano-platforms for cancer treatment.展开更多

The nanocatalysts show good catalytic activities for aryl iodides and aryl bromides and moderate activity with aryl chloride substrates. Coupling of sterically hindered substrates could also be achieved in reasonable yields. The heterogeneous catalyst is stable, can be stored without precautions to exclude air or moisture, and can be easily recycled and reused.展开更多

To obtain the relevant average properties of the system, a differential equation ...A new self-condensing vinyl polymerization system consisting of *ABf-type inimers is studied by the principle of statistical mechanics. To obtain the relevant average properties of the system, a differential equation satisfied by the polymeric moment of interest is given, and as a result the zeroth, first, second, and third polymeric moments together with the size distribution function of hyperbranched polymers(HBPs) are explicitly presented. As an application of the method of statistical mechanics, several thermodynamic quantities such as the equilibrium free energy, law of mass action, isothermal compressibility, internal energy, and the specific heat associated with the polymerization are all derived. Furthermore, the scaling behavior of asymptotic size distribution function is discussed, by which a reasonable interpretation of the polydispersity index near the end of polymerization can be made. Also, the expressions of some structural parameters such as the numbers of inimers, terminal units, chain units, branched units, and the degree of branching(DB) are calculated. It is found that a high functionality is helpful to improve the DB of the resultant HBPs. These results show that the functionality f has a significant effect on the thermodynamic quantities and structural properties of HBPs.展开更多
