The results show that the microstructures consist of mainly α′′ martensite and a little β phase, and the grain size decreases obviously with increasing Si addition. When x = 0.2, small (Ti, Ta)3Si precipitates are formed at grain boundaries. With further increasing Si content, the amount of the precipitates gradually increases. The tensile and yield strength of Ti-55Ta-xSi alloys gradually increase with increasing Si addition, whereas elongation decreases. Ti-55Ta-0.1Si alloy exhibits the lowest elastic modulus and the best shape memory recoverable strain. It is revealed that the refinement of grain and the precipitation of (Ti, Ta)3Si phase are responsible to the changes of their mechanical and shape memory properties.展开更多

Ag-Ni alloy nanoparticles(NPs) were facilely prepared by chemical reduction, and the as-prepared nanocatalysts were characterized by X-ray diffraction, ultraviolet-visible spectroscopy, transmission electron microscopy and energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy. The electrocatalytic activity of Ag-Ni NPs for benzyl chloride reduction was studied in organic medium using cyclic voltammetry, chronoamperometry and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy. The results show that the addition of Ni element can obviously decrease the size of Ag-Ni NPs, shift the reduction peak potential(φp) of benzyl chloride positively, and increase the catalytic activity of Ag-Ni NPs. However, when the Ni content reaches a certain value, the catalytic activity of Ag-Ni NPs decreases. Meanwhile, the synergistic catalytic effect of Ag-Ni NPs was also discussed.展开更多

By using typical co‐precipitation and deposition–precipitation methods and under identical calcination conditions, supported gold catalysts were prepared on a wide variety of MOx supports, and the temperature for 50%conversion was measured to qualita‐tively evaluate the catalytic activities of these simple MOx and supported Au catalysts. Furthermore, the difference in these temperatures for the simple MOx compared to the supported Au catalysts is plotted against the metal–oxygen binding energies of the support MOx. A clear volcano‐like correla‐tion between the temperature difference and the metal–oxygen binding energies is observed. This correlation suggests that the use of MOx with appropriate metal–oxygen binding energies (300–500 kJ/atom O) greatly improves the catalytic activity of MOx by the deposition of Au NPs.展开更多

The total interaction energy function for any rnetallic nanoparticle is represented in terms of two- and three-body potentials. The two-body part is described by dipole-dipole interaction potential, and in the three-body part, triple-dipole (DDD) and dipole-dipole-quadrupole (DDQ) terrns are included. The size-dependent cohesive energy and bulk modulus are observed to decrease with decreasing sizes, a result which is in good agreement with the experimental values of Mo and W nanoparticles.展开更多

Previous work has established that the bipolar effect is significant in the p-type metal-oxide-semiconductor field-effect transistor(PMOS) in 90 nm technology and above. However, the consequences of the bipolar effect on P-hit single-event transients have still not completely been characterized in 65 nm technology. In this paper, characterization of the consequences of the bipolar effect on P-hit single-event transients is performed by heavy ion experiments in both 65 nm twin-well and triple-well complementary metal-oxide-semiconductor(CMOS) technologies. Two inverter chains with clever layout structures are explored for the characterization. Ge(linear energy transfer(LET) = 37.4 Me V cm^2/mg) and Ti(LET = 22.2 Me V cm^2/mg) particles are also employed. The experimental results show that with Ge(Ti) exposure, the average pulse reduction is 49 ps(45 ps) in triple-well CMOS technology and 42 ps(32 ps) in twin-well CMOS technology when the bipolar effect is efficiently mitigated. This characterization will provide an important reference for radiation hardening integrated circuit design.展开更多
