By solving the new (3+1)-dimensional integrable models, which are conformal invariant and possess Painlevé property, the approximate solutions are obtained for the JM equation, containing not only one-soliton solutions but also periodic solutions and multi-soliton solutions. A document-level model for tweet event detection

Social media like Twitter who serves as a novel news medium and has become increasingly popular since its establishment. Large scale first-hand user-generated tweets motivate automatic event detection on Twitter. Previous unsupervised approaches detected events by clustering words. These methods detect events using burstiness,which measures surging frequencies of words at certain time windows. However,event clusters represented by a set of individual words are difficult to understand. This issue is addressed by building a document-level event detection model that directly calculates the burstiness of tweets,leveraging distributed word representations for modeling semantic information,thereby avoiding sparsity. Results show that the document-level model not only offers event summaries that are directly human-readable,but also gives significantly improved accuracies compared to previous methods on unsupervised tweet event detection,which are based on words/segments. 展开更多

Characteristics analysis and library development for piezoelectric transformer to drive a ballast for a 35 W class fluorescent lamp using PSPICE modeling

PSPICE model driven by an electric equivalent circuit of a piezoelectric circuit is presented. In order to confirm this model to be effective, an independent model of cold cathode fluorescent lamp(CCFL) driving circuit is used to conduct simulations, leading to a precise modeling. A library is configured through modeling and its accuracy is verified through simulations for widely used and representative lamps such as CCFL, fluorescent lamps, HID lamps, and electrodeless fluorescent lamps. On the basis of experiments, a lamp simulation is also performed using PSPICE, which allows us to take advantage of the lamp library easily. Also, PSPICE model driven by an electric equivalent circuit of a piezoelectric transformer is presented. In order to confirm this model to be effective, an independent model of CCFL driving circuit is used to conduct simulations, leading to a precise modeling. In addition, a new type of electronic ballast is proposed, which allows 35 W-class(T5-class) fluorescent lamp to work. This system is built by a rectifier which has improved power factor and half-bridge series resonant inverter. Also, with size of 27.5 mm high, 27.5 mm wide and 2.5 mm thick, the produced piezoelectric transformer has a high step-up ratio, through which it is possible for the electric ballast circuit to be lighter, smaller and more efficient. After the produced ballast is used to drive the fluorescent lamp for 25 min, it yields 0.95 in power factor correction, 86% in efficiency, 35.07 W in output voltage and 20.5 °C in temperature increase while meeting the characteristics of the 35 W-class fluorescent lamp. 展开更多

Here a functional nanogenerator (... ZnO nanomaterials have been shown to have novel applications in optoelectronics, energy harvesting and piezotronics, due to their coupled semiconducting and piezoelectric properties. Here a functional nanogenerator (FNG) based on ZnO nanowire arrays has been fabricated, which can be employed to detect vibration in both self-powered (SP) and external-powered (EP) modes. In SP mode, the vibration responses of the FNG can be measured through converting mechanical energy directly into an electrical signal. The FNG shows consistent alternating current responses (relative error 〈 0.37%) at regular frequencies from 1 to 15 Hz. In EP mode, the current responses of FNG are significantly enhanced via the piezotronic effect. Under a forward bias of 3 V, the sensor presented a sensitivity of 3700% and an accurate measurement (relative error 〈 0.91%) of vibration frequencies in the range 0.05-15 Hz. The results show that this type of functional nanogenerator sensor can detect vibration in both SP and EP modes according to the demands of the applications. 展开更多

A review on the formation and unique physical and mechanical properties of metallic glassy fibers(MGFs)with the diameter ranging from micro to nano scales fabricated by a supercooled liquid extraction method(SLEM)is given.The SLEM method,through driving metallic glass rods in their supercooled liquid region via superplasticity,can fabricate MGFs with precisely designed and controlled size and properties,high structural uniformity and surface smoothness and extreme flexibility.The SLEM method is efficient and the MGFs can be continuously prepared by this method.A parameter f based on the thermal and rheological properties of MG-forming alloys is proposed to control the preparation and size of the fibers.We show that the novel MGFs with superior properties may attract intensive scientific interests and propel more engineering and functional applications. 展开更多
