Here...Encoded by seven genes, angiopoietin-like （ANGPTL） family members structurally similar to the angiogenic regulating factor angiopoietin are known to possess biological activities in angiogenesis and metabolism. Here we reports for the first time the identification and expression analysis of all the seven members of bovine ANGPTL gene family, which were designated bANGPTL1 to bANGPTL7 in order. The seven bANGPTL genes consist of 4-9 exons, span 3800M-3000 bp and are located on different chromosomes. The deduced amino acid sequences of the members all possess an N-terminal coiled-coil domain and a C-terminal fibrinogen-like domain, both characteristics of angiopoietins. Phylogenetic analysis showed that the 32 identified ANGPTL homologs from 9 species could be classified into two major groups. Real-time quantitative PCR （Q-PCR） analysis revealed that the bANGPTL family members have different expression patterns. This study will be helpful for investigation on the biological role of the bANGPTL family in this economically important species. Methods: Gastric cancer family histories within second degree relatives and clinico...Objective:The aim of the study was to investigate the influence of gastric cancer family history in the gastric cancer (GC) patients. Methods: Gastric cancer family histories within second degree relatives and clinicopathological features were obtained for 497 patients. Results:Of the 497 probands,235 probands were incorporated into familial gastric cancer (FGC) group (there were at least two GC members in the family); 262 probands were included in the non-FGC group (relatives only affected with non-GCs). Of 614 tumors in relatives,GC was the most frequent,followed by lung cancer,esophageal cancer,hepatocellular cancer,colorectal cancer,urogenital cancer,breast cancer,and pancreatic cancer. Most affected members aggregated within first-degree relatives. The ratio of males to females in affected first-degree relatives was usually higher in male probands. Paternal history of GC was a strong risk for GC in males,while risk of GC by maternal history of GCs was increased in females. Difference in tumor histological types between the two groups was derived from an excess of diffuse GC in non-FGC male probands. The lower site was the most frequent tumor location in all subgroups. Conclusion:Distribution of associated non-GCs in a family history of GC may vary with geographic areas. GC may have different genetic and/or environmental etiology in different families,and a certain subtype may be inherited in a male-influenced fashion.展开更多
An ADS （automated dispensing system） was implemented in our hospital pharmacy in 2008 to optimize and secure the medication process. The main objective of this study was to compare the projected and the real ROI （r...An ADS （automated dispensing system） was implemented in our hospital pharmacy in 2008 to optimize and secure the medication process. The main objective of this study was to compare the projected and the real ROI （return on investment）, after seven years of use. ROI was calculated annually （from 2008 to 2015）, by deducting the cost of investment （ADS buying and implementation, maintenance, repairs and ADS upgrade） from the cost saving （drugs stock reduction and decrease of pharmacy staff dedicated to global dispensing）. In 2015, total costs saving （＋$1,141,987） were divided between decreasing drug stock value and reduction of pharmacy staff. Total costs of investment （-$978,656） were acquisition, maintenance, repairs and an unplanned upgrade costs. Finally, the real ROI was ＋$163,331 after seven years of use. In 2008, projected ROI was ＋$410,786. The real payback period has been increased by approximately two years （six years of use, instead of four years as expected）. Despite their cost, ADSs are a worthwhile investment, leading to a ROI within a few years. These economic considerations should be put into perspective with optimization of drugs stock management, greater efficiency of the global dispensing process, securitization of medication process and redeployment of pharmacy staff.展开更多

At that time few researches on it have been conducted due to less popularity of the products even among the researching field. Since then some of the bio-functional works of the black garlic gradually appeared along with gaining of its popularity. Representative bio-activities reported up to now are： （1） enhancement of anti-tumor potency in the mouse tumor model; （2） immune system enforcement, and suppressive act against allergic symptoms caused by decreasing IL-4 cytokine production; （3） bacteria killing potency; （4） anti-oxidant activity; （5） reduction of carcinogenic potency; （6） lowering cholesterol level and preventive work against obesity; （7） controlling high blood pressure; （8） beneficial effect against diabetics; （9） regenerative effect to the burned skin （Clinical study case） et al. On the black garlic business （marketing）, the Aomori Black Garlic Union （Association） had been established in Aomori Prefecture to offer the citizen high quality, high safety and high security black garlic （products） aiming at contribution for health improvement. All union members are now exerting themselves to the most to attain the high quality production of the black garlic. The quality proving certification seal will be issued to the products that passed the quality approval test by the third party inspections to place it on the their products. Factors of motivation, such as...The purpose of this study is to uncover factors of motivation among account executives in a telecommunication company after the improvement of sales commission plan program in year 2014. Factors of motivation, such as monetary reward, recognition, affiliation, job security, and work environment that influence account executives motivation have been highlighted. Quantitative method was used in this study with the help of questionnaire data collection. The questionnaires were distributed among one of the telecommunication company account executives. The study found that there are significant differences in motivation level between gender, age, year of service, salary, and workplace of account executives. Monetary reward, job security, and work environment were found as the significant drivers to motivate account executives. The study also found that improvement on public recognition and affiliation factors failed to bring positive impact towards account executives motivation. Consistently, the findings can conclude that there is a relationship between account executives and sales commission plan that can lead to increase in motivation. Despite the positive result, the study can suggest the company to improve its bottom-line where sales commission plan program needs further revision in accordance with account executives factors of motivation.展开更多
Clusters of galaxies have a huge mass which can act as gravitational lenses.Galaxies behind clusters can be distorted by the lenses to form arcs in images.Herein a search was done for giant lensed arcs using the SDSS ...Clusters of galaxies have a huge mass which can act as gravitational lenses.Galaxies behind clusters can be distorted by the lenses to form arcs in images.Herein a search was done for giant lensed arcs using the SDSS data.By visually inspecting SDSS images of newly identified clusters in the SDSS DR8 and Stripe 82 data,we discover 8 strong lensing clusters together with additional 3probable and 6 possible cases.The lensed arcs show bluer colors than the member galaxies of clusters.The masses and optical luminosities of galaxy clusters interior to the arcs are calculated.The mass-to-light ratios are found to be in the range of a few tens of M⊙/L⊙,consistent with the distribution of previously known lensing clusters.展开更多
