When using global positioning system/BeiDou navigation satellite(GPS/BDS)dual-mode navigation system to locate a train,Kalman filter that is used to calculate train position has to be adjusted according to the feature...When using global positioning system/BeiDou navigation satellite(GPS/BDS)dual-mode navigation system to locate a train,Kalman filter that is used to calculate train position has to be adjusted according to the features of the dual-mode observation.Due to multipath effect,positioning accuracy of present Kalman filter algorithm is really low.To solve this problem,a chaotic immune-vaccine particle swarm optimization_extended Kalman filter(CIPSO_EKF)algorithm is proposed to improve the output accuracy of the Kalman filter.By chaotic mapping and immunization,the particle swarm algorithm is first optimized,and then the optimized particle swarm algorithm is used to optimize the observation error covariance matrix.The optimal parameters are provided to the EKF,which can effectively reduce the impact of the observation value oscillation caused by multipath effect on positioning accuracy.At the same time,the train positioning results of EKF and CIPSO_EKF algorithms are compared.The eastward position errors and velocity errors show that CIPSO_EKF algorithm has faster convergence speed and higher real-time performance,which can effectively suppress interference and improve positioning accuracy.展开更多

Five distinctive systems are identified: The Field crop system, Fruit tree system, Industrial tree plantation system, Specialty crop system and Agro-tourism system. The different systems are compared with each other in order to identify their respective strengths and weaknesses as development models. The Field crop system covers the largest area of agricultural land and is found in all mountainous villages but it generates very low net profits per hectare. The Specialty crop system and Agro-tourism system generate very high net profits per hectare but cover only a small land area and have a restricted spatial distribution. Expansion of these high value systems may be limited because they are capital and labor intensive and require highly skilled farmers to manage them successfully. If these constraints can be overcome, they may offer a useful model for mountain agricultural development.展开更多
The variations of the marine atmospheric boundary layer (MABL) associated with the South China Sea Summer Monsoon were examined using the Global Positioning System (GPS) sounding datasets obtained four times daily dur...The variations of the marine atmospheric boundary layer (MABL) associated with the South China Sea Summer Monsoon were examined using the Global Positioning System (GPS) sounding datasets obtained four times daily during May-June 1998 on board Research Vessels Kexue 1 and Shiyan 3. The MABL height is defined as the height at the lowest level where virtual potential temperature increases by 1 K from the surface. The results indicate that the MABL height decreased over the northern South China Sea (SCS) and remained the same over the southern SCS, as sea surface temperature (SST) fell for the northern and rose for the southern SCS after the monsoon onset. Over the northern SCS, a decrease in both the SST and the surface latent-heat flux after the onset resulted in a reduction of the MABL height as well as a decoupling of MABL from clouds. It was found that MABL height reduction corresponded to rainfall occurrence. Over the southern SCS, a probable reason for the constant increase of SST and surface heat flux was the rainfall and internal atmospheric dynamics.展开更多
BeiDou Global Navigation Satellite System(BDS-3)not only performs the normal positioning,navigation and timing(PNT)functions,but also provides featured services,which are divided into geostationary orbit(GEO)and mediu...BeiDou Global Navigation Satellite System(BDS-3)not only performs the normal positioning,navigation and timing(PNT)functions,but also provides featured services,which are divided into geostationary orbit(GEO)and medium earth orbit(MEO)satellite-based featured services in this paper.The former refers to regional services consisting of the regional short message communication service(RSMCS),the radio determination satellite service(RDSS),the BDS satellite-based augmented service(BDSBAS)and the satellite-based precise point positioning service via B2b signal(B2b-PPP).The latter refers to global services consisting of the global short message communication service(GSMCS)and the MEO satellite-based search and rescue(MEOSAR)service.The focus of this paper is to describe these featured services and evaluate their performances.The results show that the inter-satellite link(ISL)contributes a lot to the accuracy improvement of orbit determination and time synchronization for the whole constellation.Compared with some other final products,the root mean squares(RMS)of the BDS-3 precise orbits and broadcast clock are 25.1 cm and 2.01 ns,respectively.The positioning accuracy of single frequency is better than 6 m,and that of the generalized RDSS is usually better than 12 m.For featured services,the success rates of RSMCS and GSMCS are better than 99.9% and 95.6%,respectively;the positioning accuracies of single and dual frequency BDSBAS are better than 3 and 2 m,respectively;the positioning accuracy of B2b-PPP is better than 0.6 m,and the convergence time is usually smaller than 30 min;the single station test shows that the success rate of MEOSAR is better than 99%.Due to the ISL realization in the BDS-3 constellation,the performance and capacities of the global featured services are improved significantly.展开更多

It consists of 14 satellites, including 5 satellites in Geostationary Orbit (GEO), 5 satellites in Inclined Geosynchronous Orbit (IGSO), and 4 satellites in Medium Earth Orbit (MEO). In this paper, its basic navigation and positioning performance are evaluated preliminarily by the real data collected in Beijing, including satellite visibility, Position Dilution of Precision (PDOP) value, the precision of code and carrier phase measurements, the accuracy of single point positioning and differential position- ing and ambiguity resolution (AR) performance, which are also compared with those of GPS. It is shown that the precision of BDS code and carrier phase measurements are about 33 cm and 2 mm, respectively, which are comparable to those of GPS, and the accuracy of BDS single point positioning has satisfied the design requirement. The real-time kinematic positioning is also feasible by BDS alolae in the opening condition, since its fixed rate and reliability of single-epoch dual-frequency AR is comparable to those of GPS. The accuracy of BDS carrier phase differential positioning is better than 1 cm for a very short baseline of 4.2 m and 3 cm for a short baseline of 8.2 km, which is on the same level with that of GPS. For the combined BDS and GPS, the fixed rate and reliability of single-epoch AR and the positioning accuracy are improved significantly. The accu- racy of BDS/GPS carrier phase differential positioning is about 35 and 20 % better than that of GPS for two short baseline tests in this study. The accuracy of BDS code differential positioning is better than 2.5 m. However it is worse than that of GPS, which may result from large code multipath errors of BDS GEO satellite measurements.展开更多

The ephemerides, or predicted orbits of these GEO satellites(GEOs), are broadcast to positioning, na...Geostationary(GEO) satellites form an indispensable component of the constellation of Beidou navigation system(BDS). The ephemerides, or predicted orbits of these GEO satellites(GEOs), are broadcast to positioning, navigation, and timing users. User equivalent ranging error(UERE) based on broadcast message is better than 1.5 m(root formal errors: RMS) for GEO satellites. However, monitoring of UERE indicates that the orbital prediction precision is significantly degraded when the Sun is close to the Earth's equatorial plane(or near spring or autumn Equinox). Error source analysis shows that the complicated solar radiation pressure on satellite buses and the simple box-wing model maybe the major contributor to the deterioration of orbital precision. With the aid of BDS' two-way frequency and time transfer between the GEOs and Beidou time(BDT, that is maintained at the master control station), we propose a new orbit determination strategy, namely three-step approach of the multi-satellite precise orbit determination(MPOD). Pseudo-range(carrier phase) data are transformed to geometric range(biased geometric range) data without clock offsets; and reasonable empirical acceleration parameters are estimated along with orbital elements to account for the error in solar radiation pressure modeling. Experiments with Beidou data show that using the proposed approach, the GEOs' UERE when near the autumn Equinox of 2012 can be improved to 1.3 m from 2.5 m(RMS), and the probability of user equivalent range error(UERE)<2.0 m can be improved from 50% to above 85%.展开更多
The BeiDou Navigation Satellite System(BDS) provides Radio Navigation Service System(RNSS) as well as Radio Determination Service System(RDSS).RDSS users can obtain positioning by responding the Master Control Center(...The BeiDou Navigation Satellite System(BDS) provides Radio Navigation Service System(RNSS) as well as Radio Determination Service System(RDSS).RDSS users can obtain positioning by responding the Master Control Center(MCC) inquiries to signal transmitted via GEO satellite transponder.The positioning result can be calculated with elevation constraint by MCC.The primary error sources affecting the RDSS positioning accuracy are the RDSS signal transceiver delay,atmospheric trans-mission delay and GEO satellite position error.During GEO orbit maneuver,poor orbit forecast accuracy significantly impacts RDSS services.A real-time 3-D orbital correction method based on wide-area differential technique is raised to correct the orbital error.Results from the observation shows that the method can successfully improve positioning precision during orbital maneuver,independent from the RDSS reference station.This improvement can reach 50% in maximum.Accurate calibration of the RDSS signal transceiver delay precision and digital elevation map may have a critical role in high precise RDSS positioning services.展开更多
