An automated underground mine monitoring and communication system based on the integration of new technologies is introduced to promote safety and health,operational management and cost-effectiveness.The proposed syst...An automated underground mine monitoring and communication system based on the integration of new technologies is introduced to promote safety and health,operational management and cost-effectiveness.The proposed system integration considering Wireless Sensor Network(WSN) assisted Geographic Information System(GIS) enables to monitor and control underground mining applications from surface office.Based on the capabilities of WSNs,ZigBee network is adapted for near real-time monitoring,ventilation system control and emergency communication in underground mine.ZigBee nodes were developed to sense environmental attributes such as temperature,humidity and gases concentration;switching ON and OFF ventilation fans;and texting emergency messages.A trigger action plan for monitored attributes above normal and threshold value limits is programmed in the surface GIS management server.It is designed to turn the auxiliary fans on remotely or automatically in orange condition and sending evacuation messages for underground miners in unsafe(red) condition.Multi-users operation and 3D visualisations are other successful achievements of the proposed system for the underground monitoring and communication.展开更多

It needs various actions and expressions because of the nature of a puppet. The biggest problem which executes this is the ways to create a system. This thesis proposes motion capture of developed method with solution of this problem. So, we create various contents needed by puppet. In this part, developed method means a mixed method on the basis of optical system and magnetic system used mainly for the present method of motion capture. We lessen the weak points of each method and propoe solution of create motion for pupct by offering more advantages. With the newly proposed Global Ocean Observing Integration, ocean observing scope has been expanded from the region to the global, therefore the need of large-scale ocean observing system integration has become more a...With the newly proposed Global Ocean Observing Integration, ocean observing scope has been expanded from the region to the global, therefore the need of large-scale ocean observing system integration has become more and more urgent. Currently, ocean observing systems enabled ocean sensor networks are commonly developed by different organizations using specific technologies and platforms, which brings several challenges in ocean observing instrument (OOI) access and ocean observing system seamless integration. Furthermore, the development of ocean observing systems often suffers from low efficiency due to the complex prograrmning and debugging process. To solve these problems, a novel model, Complex Virtual Instrument (CVI) Model, is proposed. The model provides formal definitions on observing instrument description file, CVI description file, model calculation method, development model and interaction standard. In addition, this model establishes mathematical expressions of two model calculation operations, meanwhile builds the mapping relationship between observing instrument description file and CVI description file. The CVI based on the new model can achieve automatic access to different OOIs, seamless integration and communication for heterogeneous environments, and further implement standardized data access and management for the global unified ocean observing network. Throughout the development, integration and application of such CVI, the rationality and feasibility of the model have been evaluated. The results confirm that the proposed model can effectively implement heterogeneous system integration, improve development efficiency, make full usage of reusable components, reduce development cost, and enhance overall software system quality. We believe that our new model has great significance to promote the large-scale ocean observing system integration.展开更多

Then we propose a novel support-vector-machine-based data fusion algorithm and also design the gripper system by combining data fusion with CAN bus and CORBA technology, which provides the gripper system with outstanding characteristics such as modularization and intelligence. A multisensory integration gripper test bed is finally built on which a circuit board replacement job based on Internet-based teleoperation is achieved. To improve the working and living environment of submarine crews, an integrated system of CO2 removal and O2 regeneration was designed to work under experimental conditions for 50 people in a submarine cabin during pr...To improve the working and living environment of submarine crews, an integrated system of CO2 removal and O2 regeneration was designed to work under experimental conditions for 50 people in a submarine cabin during prolonged voyages. The integrated system comprises a solid amine water desorption (SAWD) unit for CO2 collection and concentration, a Sabatier reactor for CO2 reduction and a solid polymer electrolyte (SPE) unit for O2 regeneration by electrolysis. The performances of the SAWD-Sabatier-SPE integrated system were investigated. The experimental results from the SAWD unit showed that the average CO2 concentration in the CO2 storage tank was more than 96% and the outlet CO2 concentration was nearly zero in the first 45 min, and less than 1/10 of inlet CO2 after 60 min when input CO2 was 0.5% (1000 L). About 950 L of CO2 was recovered with a recovery rate of 92%-97%. The output CO2 concentration was less than 0.2%, which showed that the adsorption-desorption performance of this unit was excellent. In the CO2 reduction unit we investigated mainly the start-up and reaction performance of the Sabatier reactor. The start-up time of the Sabatier reactor was 6, 8 and 10 rain when the start-up temperature was 187.3, 179.5 and 168 ℃, respectively. The product water was colorless, transparent, and had a pH of 6.9-7.5, and an electrical conductivity of 80μs/cm. The sum of the concentration of metal ions (Ru^3+, Al^3+, Pb^2+) was 0.028% and that of nonmetal ions (Cl^-, SO4^2-) was 0.05%. In the O2 regeneration unit, the O2 generation rate was 0.48 m^3/d and the quantity was 2400 L, sufficient to meet the submariners' basic oxygen demands. These results may be useful as a basis for establishing CO2-1evel limits and O2 regeneration systems in submarines or similar enclosed compartments during prolonged voyages.展开更多
Micro heat pipe(MHP) is applied to implement the efficient heat transfer of light emitting diode(LED) device.The fabrication of MHP is based on micro-electro-mechanical-system(MEMS) technique,15 micro grooves were etc...Micro heat pipe(MHP) is applied to implement the efficient heat transfer of light emitting diode(LED) device.The fabrication of MHP is based on micro-electro-mechanical-system(MEMS) technique,15 micro grooves were etched on one side of silicon(Si) substrate,which was then packaged with aluminum heat sink to form an MHP.On the other side of Si substrate,three LED chips were fixed by die bonding.Then experiments were performed to study the thermal performance of this LED device.The results show that the LED device with higher filling ratio is better when the input power is 1.0 W; with the increase of input power,the optimum filling ratio changes from 30% to 48%,and the time reaching stable state is reduced; when the input power is equal to 2.5 W,only the LED device with filling ratio of 48% can work normally.So integrating MHP into high-power LED device can implement the effective control of junction temperature.展开更多
Integral imaging is a three dimensional(3D)display technology without any additional equipment.A new system is proposed in this paper which consists of the elemental images of real images in real mode(RIRM)and the one...Integral imaging is a three dimensional(3D)display technology without any additional equipment.A new system is proposed in this paper which consists of the elemental images of real images in real mode(RIRM)and the ones of virtual images in real mode(VIRM).The real images in real mode are the same as the conventional integral images.The virtual images in real mode are obtained by changing the coordinates of the corresponding points in elemental images which can be reconstructed by the lens array in virtual space.In order to reduce the spot size of the reconstructed images,the diffuser in conventional integral imaging is given up in the proposed method.Then the spot size is nearly1/20 of that in the conventional system.And an optical integral imaging system is constructed to confirm that our proposed method opens a new way for the application of the passive 3D display technology.展开更多
