This paper presents a simple and efficient algorithm for the nonlinear static an...Robust numerical models that describe the complex behaviors of risers are needed because these constitute dynamically sensitive systems. This paper presents a simple and efficient algorithm for the nonlinear static and dynamic analyses of marine risers. The proposed approach uses the vector form intrinsic finite element(VFIFE) method, which is based on vector mechanics theory and numerical calculation. In this method, the risers are described by a set of particles directly governed by Newton's second law and are connected by weightless elements that can only resist internal forces. The method does not require the integration of the stiffness matrix, nor does it need iterations to solve the governing equations. Due to these advantages, the method can easily increase or decrease the element and change the boundary conditions, thus representing an innovative concept of solving nonlinear behaviors, such as large deformation and large displacement. To prove the feasibility of the VFIFE method in the analysis of the risers, rigid and flexible risers belonging to two different categories of marine risers, which usually have differences in modeling and solving methods, are employed in the present study. In the analysis, the plane beam element is adopted in the simulation of interaction forces between the particles and the axial force, shear force, and bending moment are also considered. The results are compared with the conventional finite element method(FEM) and those reported in the related literature. The findings revealed that both the rigid and flexible risers could be modeled in a similar unified analysis model and that the VFIFE method is feasible for solving problems related to the complex behaviors of marine risers.展开更多

With the analysis of distribution characteristics of motion compensation error surface inside tractional pixel searching window, the matching error is fitted with parabola along horizontal and vertical direction respectively. The proposcd searching strategy needs to check only 6 points rather than 16 or 24 points, which are used in the l lierarchical Fractional Pel Search algorithm (HFPS) for 1/4-pel and 1/8-pel Motion Estimation (ME). The experimental results show that the proposed algorithm shows very good capability in keeping the rate distortion performance while reduces computation load to a large extent compared with HFPS algorithm.展开更多

The system...In this work, the simultaneous effects of electric field and impurity on the non-extensive entropy of a GaAs/Ga_(0.5) In_(0.5) As double cone-like quantum dot that is grown on a Ga As wet layer are studied. The system is under an external electric field directed along the-x direction. First, we have solved the Schr¨odinger equation using the finite element method. Then, we have used the Tsallis formalism and calculated the entropy of the system for different temperatures, electric fields and impurity locations. It is found that the entropy decreases with increasing the electric field and temperature. Since the electric field directed along the-x direction, the entropy reduces when the impurity moves toward the left hand side.展开更多
In the framework of the NRQCD factorization formalism,we calculate the decay rate for the process Υ(1 S) → ccgg to the next-to-leading order(NLO) in the relative velocity v of the b quark in the bottomonium rest fra...In the framework of the NRQCD factorization formalism,we calculate the decay rate for the process Υ(1 S) → ccgg to the next-to-leading order(NLO) in the relative velocity v of the b quark in the bottomonium rest frame.We also study the momentum distributions of the charm quark and the charmed-hadron in the decay.The momentum distribution of the charmed-hadron is obtained by convolving the charm quark momentum distribution with a fragmentation function of the charm quark into the hadron.In addition,we fit the nonperturbative NRQCD matrix element v 2 Υ through comparing the theoretical prediction with the measurement from the BaBar collaboration for the decay rate of Υ(1 S) → D + X.In return,taking this matrix element as an input parameter,we predict the decay rates as well as the momentum distributions for a collection of charmed-hadrons in the process Υ(1S) → ccgg → hX.展开更多
