The flotation result shows that the efficient separation can be achieved with H as selective collector. Galena concentrated with Pb grade of 72.09%and Pb recovery of 50.96% was obtained, and jamesonite concentrated with Sb grade and recovery of10.89% and 76.67% respectively was obtained as well. Infrared spectrum analysis indicates that collector H can adsorb on the surface of galena and react with Pb2+to generate hydrophobic salt, while no evident adsorption phenomenon was observed on the surface of jamesonite. The MD simulation and calculation results demonstrate that adsorption energy of collector H on galena and jamesonite surface is à872.74 k J/mol and à500.538 k J/mol, respectively, which means collector H is easier to adsorb on the surface of galena than that of jamesonite.展开更多

The angular information of transient species is obtainable in this measurement, which makes it a valuable technique for the investigation of electron distribution, molecular structure, and conformational dynamics. In this review, we briefly introduce the principles and applications of polarization dependent TRIR spectroscopy. We mainly focused on the following topics: (i) an overview of TRIR spectroscopy, (ii) principles of TRIR spectroscopy and its advantages compared to the other ultrafast techniques, (iii) examples that use polarization dependent TRIR spectroscopy to probe a variety of cheinical and dynamical phenomena including protein conformational dynamics, excited state electron localization, and photoisomerization, (iv) the limitations and prospects of TRIR spectroscopy.展开更多

The DB‐FTIR spectrometer is suitable for the real‐time study of the dynamic surface processes involved in gas/solid heterogeneous catalysis under real reaction conditionsbecause it can simultaneously collect reference and sample spectra. The influence of gas‐phasemolecular vibration and heat irradiation at real reaction temperatures can therefore be eliminated. The DB‐FTIR spectrometer was successfully used to follow the transformation of isobutene over nano‐sized HZSM‐5 zeolite under real reaction conditions.展开更多

Mn iron, dissolved from the surface of ore, will determine the interfacial properties of the particles and, thus, their flotation behavior. In this work, the effect of Mn2+ on quartz flotation was investigated through flotation tests. It was found that quartz can be depressed with Mn2+ and floated with dodecylamine in the pH region 7-8. In order to prove the validity of the findings, UV spectrophotometry, FTIR and SEM-EDS were carried out. UV spectrophotometry tests results show that Mn2+ can competitive adsorb with RNH3+ in the surface of quartz at acidic and neutral pH values. The FTIR measurements and SEM-EDS analysis indicate that Mn2+ forms precipitation and adsorbs on the negatively charged quartz surface, it induces quartz recovery dropping in alkaline pH. Furthermore, in the case of sodium hexametaphosphate(SH), sodium silicate or citric acid, the effects of Mn2+ were also studied. This depression in the given Mn2+ did not disappear. Citric acid is an appropriate modifier to separate quartz depressed by Mn2+ from other ores at pH 7.展开更多

Mineral processors dealing with hematite face a challenge that the flotation results of reverse flotation of hematite are poor in presence of siderite using fatty acid as collector, starch as depressant of iron minerals and calcium ion as activator of quartz at strong alkaline pH. In this work, the effect of siderite on reverse anionic flotation of quartz from hematite was investigated. The effect mechanism of siderite on reverse flotation of hematite was studied by solution chemistry, ultraviolet spectrophotometry(UV) and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy(FTIR). It was observed that siderite had strong depressive effect on quartz in flotation using sodium oleate as collector, corn starch as depressant of iron minerals and calcium chloride as activator of quartz at strong alkaline pH. The starch was adsorbed onto calcium carbonate by chemical reaction which was formed by CO^(2-)_3 from siderite dissolution and Ca^(2+) from calcium chloride as activator of quartz and precipitated on the surface of quartz, which resulted in improving the hydrophilic ability of quartz.展开更多

With 740-FT-IR infrared spectrometric analyzer, the infrared absorption spectrum of SiO2 in couplers at different drawing velocities was measured, and two characteristic peaks in the wavenumber range of 6502000 cm-1 were observed. One characteristic peak is at about 943 cm-1, which is (attributed) to Si—O—Si bond asymmetric stretching vibration, the other is at about 773 cm-1, which is attributed to (Si—O—Si) bond symmetric stretching vibration. From the infrared spectrum, it is found that the intensity and wavenumber of the characteristic peaks are related to the manufacturing technique of couplers. The characteristic peak at (about) 943 cm-1 becomes steeper when increasing the drawing velocity. At the drawing velocity of 150 μm/s, the distance between the two characteristic peaks is maximum, and then the optical fiber coupler has excellent performance, indicating that the performance of the optical fiber coupler has a close relationship with the wavenumber of the two characteristic peaks.展开更多
