红纤维虾海藻作为海洋沉水高等植物具有重要的生态与渔业价值。该物种目前已经处于濒危状态,且研究资料十分匮乏。本研究通过实地生境调查,对其进行了形态学与解剖学研究,并在此基础上对其海洋环境的结构适应性进行了较为深入的探讨。... 红纤维虾海藻作为海洋沉水高等植物具有重要的生态与渔业价值。该物种目前已经处于濒危状态,且研究资料十分匮乏。本研究通过实地生境调查,对其进行了形态学与解剖学研究,并在此基础上对其海洋环境的结构适应性进行了较为深入的探讨。研究结果表明:红纤维虾海藻须根末端膨大并密生根毛,有利于增强植株的抓附能力和吸收能力;表皮细胞细胞壁具有类似栓化细胞初生壁性质的六面加厚现象,与外部多层皮层厚角组织形成机械组织区,叶鞘内侧含有丰富的机械组织,使结构的抗性加强,能承受较强的海流冲击;雄花序中无退化雌蕊,雌花序兼具雌蕊和退化的雄蕊,花序轴两侧着生数枚桨状小苞片,花粉丝状,利于授粉,传粉方式为水媒和半水媒传粉;小坚果密生倒向长鬃毛,便于果实在海流中固着锚定。该研究弥补了目前对海洋沉水高等植物适应性进化特征理解的不足,也为该物种在生态修复中的应用提供了科学依据。 展开更多

2011年7~8月在桑沟湾楮岛南岸东部海域,利用水下调制脉冲式荧光仪(DIVING-PAM)原位测定了中国北方3种常见温带海草大叶藻、丛生大叶藻以及红纤维虾海藻的不同叶龄叶片的叶绿素荧光特性,并确定了几种海草的吸光系数(AF)和叶片叶绿素含量... 2011年7~8月在桑沟湾楮岛南岸东部海域,利用水下调制脉冲式荧光仪(DIVING-PAM)原位测定了中国北方3种常见温带海草大叶藻、丛生大叶藻以及红纤维虾海藻的不同叶龄叶片的叶绿素荧光特性,并确定了几种海草的吸光系数(AF)和叶片叶绿素含量,计算出海草绝对电子传递速率。实验结果表明,叶龄对海草的光合活性有较大影响,同种海草的AF值和叶绿素含量都随叶龄增加而增加,叶龄小的叶片明显具有较大的最大电子传递速率(ETRmax)(大叶藻:叶1=26.56,叶2=21.45,叶3=19.98;红纤维虾海藻叶1=22.31,叶2=19.23,叶3=17.06;丛生叶藻:叶1=20.16,叶2=16.10;叶3=13.10)。相比于丛生大叶藻和红纤维虾形藻,大叶藻具有最高的光合活性(ETRmax=22.67),这也与大叶藻在3种海草中所具有最高的初级生产力是相符合的。 展开更多

Study on the early development of sporelings from carpospores of Gracilaria asiatica Chang et Xia was conducted indoors under controlled culture conditions. Besides normal development of sporelings, a new developmental phenomenon of filamentous frond was observed. It was composed of one or two rows of cells, and took place from the outmost brim of the basal disc. During the early disc stage of germinated carpospores, one or two filamentous fronds formed on about 10% basal discs. Simul-taneously, young fronds began to arch slightly from the centers of single and coalescent discs; lately more filamentous fronds up to 80% appeared on the brims of basal discs. Meanwhile one or more upright fronds protuberated on the basal discs. Generally, filamentous fronds exhibited in self-existence or co-existence forms with normal young sporelings on the same basal disc, and single cell detached from filamentous fronds developed into a new filamentous frond. This new phenomenon exhibited a unique differentiation pathway during the early development of G. asiatica, which would be potential for the ap-plication in artificial sporelings nursery. 展开更多

By means of spectroscopic methods including IR, MS, 1D, and 2D-NMR techniques, their structures were elucidated as (1) 3-bromo-4,5-dihydroxy benzoic acid methyl ester; (2) bis (2,3-dibromo-4,5-dihydroxybenzyl) ether; (3) 3,4-dibromo-5-(methoxymethyl)-1,2-benzenediol and (4) 3-bromo-4,5-dihydroxy-benzaldehyde. Compound 1 was first isolated from the algae in nature, and 1, 4 were found to have selective cytotoxic activities against KB, Bel 7402 and A549 cells, 2 showed powerful antibacterial activities against Staphylococcus aurens and Pseudomonas aeruginosa. 展开更多

This article studied nitric oxide (NO) effect on the growth of Chaetoceros curvisetus in chemistry for the first time. Nitric oxide was added into the media with 4 different nutrient concentrations f/2, f/50, f/100, and f/200 when the alga was growing. The growth of C. curvisetus could be obviously promoted or inhibited during the cultivation process in NO enriched media of different concentrations. The growth curve in such media showed a sharp single peak that is the optimal NO concentration for the alga growth, which is consistent with the influence of NO on the growth of high plants. In addition, C. curvisetus can produce NO by itself during the growth. Therefore, using NO could effectively regulate the algae growth, which is important in real tide control and remediation. 展开更多

Previously, we had characterized several structurally interesting brominated phenols from the marine red alga Symphyocladia latiuscula collected from various sites. However, Phytochemical investigations on this species collected from the Weihai coastline of Shandong Province remains blank. Therefore, we characterized the chemical constituents of individuals of this species collected from the region. Eight bromophenols were isolated and identified. Using detailed spectroscopic techniques and comparisons with published data, these compounds were identified as 2,3-dibromo-4,5-dihydroxybenzyl methyl ether (1), 3,5-dibromo-4-hydroxybenzoic acid (2), 2,3,6-tribromo-4,5-dihydroxymethylbenzene (3), 2,3,6-tribromo-4,5-dihydroxybenzaldehyde (4), 2,3,6-tribromo-4,5-dihydroxybenzyl methyl ether (5), bis(2,3,6-tribromo-4,5-dihydroxyphenyl)methane (6), 1,2-bis(2,3,6-tribromo-4,5-dihydroxyphenyl)-ethane (7), and 1-(2,3,6-tribromo-4,5-dihydroxybenzyl)-pyrrolidin-2-one (8). Among these compounds, 1 and 2 were isolated for the first time from S. latiuscula. Each compound was evaluated on the ability to inhibit protein tyrosine phosphatase 1B (PTP1B), which is a potential therapeutic target in the treatment of type 2 diabetes. Bromophenols 5, 6, and 7 showed strong activities with IC50 values of 3.9, 4.3, and 3.5 μmol/L, respectively. This study provides further evidence that bromophenols are predominant among the chemical constituents of Symphyocladia, and that some of these compounds may be candidates for the development of anti-diabetes drugs. 展开更多

Based on MS and ID NMR spectroscopic data, their structures were determined as: stigmast-4-en-3-one (Ⅰ), cholest-4-en-3-one (Ⅱ), cholesterol (m), uracil (Ⅳ), uridine (V), adenosine (Ⅵ), succinic acid (Ⅶ), and 5-hydroxy-4-methyl-5-pentyl-2,5-dihydro-furan-2-on (Ⅷ). All of them were obtained from this species for the first time. Cytotoxicity of these compounds was screened using standard MTT method, but all the compounds were inactive (IC50 〉 10 μg/ml). 展开更多

A total of 142 specimens of Ceramiales (Rhodophyta) were collected each month from October 2011 to November 2012 in the intertidal zone of the northwestern Yellow Sea. These specimens covered 21 species, 14 genera, and four families. Cluster analyses show that the specimens had a high diversity for the three DNA markers, namely, partial large subunit rRNA gene (LSU), universal plastid amplicon (UPA), and partial mitochondrial cytochrome c oxidase subunit I gene (COl). No intraspecific divergence was found in our collection for these markers, except for a 1-3 bp divergence in the COI of Ceramium kondoi, Syrnphyocladia latiuscula, and Neosiphoniajaponica. Because short DNA markers were used, the phylogenetic relationships of higher taxonomic levels were hard to evaluate with poor branch support. More than half species of our collection failed to find their matched sequences owing to shortage information of DNA barcodes for macroalgae in GenBank or BOLD (Barcode of Life Data) Systems. Three specimens were presumed as Heterosiphonia crispella by cluster analyses on DNA barcodes assisted by morphological identification, which was the first record in the investigated area, implying that it might he a cryptic or invasive species in the coastal area of northwestern Yellow Sea. In the neighbor-joining trees of all three DNA markers, Heterosiphonia japonica converged with Dasya spp. and was distant from the other Heterosiphonia spp., implying that H.japonica had affinities to the genus Dasya. The LSU and UPA markers amplified and sequenced easier than the COI marker across the Ceramiales species, but the COI had a higher ability to discriminate between species. 展开更多

We present a taxonomic study of taxa of the red algae genus Herposiphonia (Rhodophyta, Rhodomelaceae), collected from the coast of eastern Guangdong, China. We made detailed morphological studies and considered recent taxonomic criteria for species delimitation, and are making the first report of five different species on the coast of Guangdong, including a new species. The species identified were H. caespitosa Tseng, H. hollenbergii Dawson, H. pecten-veneris (Harvey) Falkenberg, H. subdisticha Okamura and H. pinnata Ding and Tan sp. nov. H. pinnata sp. nov. is characterized by bright green thaUi; most parts of the feathery thalli are free of the substratum; determinate branches and indeterminate branches are arranged in a chaotic sequence; the primary axis has bare segments; the determinate branch has 9-11 periaxial cells per segment; vegetative trichoblasts are abundant; and tetrasporangia are formed on the middle of the determinate branch with 1-8 successive segments in a single rectilinear series. Thirty three species of marine algae belonging to Rhodophyta, Phaeophyta and Chlorophyta from the Fujian coast were examined for agglutinins with different animal and human erythrocytes. Protein extracts from 26 species were active against at least one type of the erythrocytes tested. There were 3 species ( Grateloupia imbricata, Ishige foliacea and Entermorpha prolifera ) whose extracts could agglutinate all the erythrocytes used. The lowest protein concentration required to produce erythrocyte agglutination varied remarkably, from 3.1 μg/ml to 500 μg/ml . The strongest activity was found in the agglutination of rabbit erythrocytes by Gloiopeltis furcata extract. Inhibition assays performed with nine mono and bisaccharides indicated that agglutinations of rabbit erythrocytes by extracts of 7 species were inhibited by one or more types of the sugars assayed. The agglutinating activity shown by extracts of most species was not affected when the test solution was heated to 90℃, but was lost at 95℃-100℃. The structure of phytoplankton communities in waters of mangrove natural reserve in Hainan Island was studied in June 2009.The results showed that most of phytoplankton were diatoms in the waters of mangrove.The dominant species were Skeletonema sp.,Cyclotella caspia,Nitzschia closterium and Oscillatoria sp.Some taxa belonging to Euglenophyta,Pyrrophyta and Chlorophyta also occurred in the water.Totally 97 species(including variety)in 46 generas were identified,in which 59 species in 25 genera belonged to Bacillariophyta,and 18 species in 9 genera for Chlorophyta,10 species in 7 genera for Cyanophyta,4 species in 2 genera for Euglenophyta,5 species in 5 genera for Pyrrophyta,1 specie for Chrysophyta,respectively.The cell abundance of phytoplankton ranges from 289.9 x 103 to 1964.9 ×10^3 cells/L,with an average of 885.3 ×10^3 cells/L.According to composition and structure of phytoplankton communities,the water quality in mangrove areas was in good condition.But in Xinying Harbour,Sanya River and Caiqiao the water quality might be degraded,which should be paid attention to. 展开更多
