采用丝网印刷工艺在棉针织物、棉非织造布和不同纱线线密度的棉机织物表面印刷碳纳米管电极浆料以制备织物电极,通过测试织物电极的表面电阻、循环伏安曲线、恒流充放电曲线和交流阻抗谱,分析织物基材的纤维/纱线排列形态和结构参数对... 采用丝网印刷工艺在棉针织物、棉非织造布和不同纱线线密度的棉机织物表面印刷碳纳米管电极浆料以制备织物电极,通过测试织物电极的表面电阻、循环伏安曲线、恒流充放电曲线和交流阻抗谱,分析织物基材的纤维/纱线排列形态和结构参数对丝网印刷织物电极电化学性能的影响。结果表明,表面相对平整的棉机织物电极具有更低的表面电阻和更优异的电化学性能,其中纱线线密度为11.66 tex的棉机织物电极的面积比电容可达27.910 mF/cm^(2),比棉针织物电极和棉非织造布电极高1.6~4.4倍,并且棉机织物电极的电极过程动力学参数如电荷转移电阻、韦伯阻抗均小于棉针织物电极和棉非织造布电极。 展开更多

This paper presents a comparison study of two models for predicting the strength of rotor spun cotton yarns from fiber properties. The adaptive neuro-fuzzy system inference (ANFIS) and Multiple Linear Regression models are used to predict the rotor spun yarn strength. Fiber properties and yam count are used as inputs to train the two models and the count-strength-product (CSP) was the targel. The predictive performances of the two models are estimated and compared. We found that the ANFIS has a better predictive power in comparison with linear multiple regression model. The impact of each fiber property is also illustrated. 展开更多

A comprehensive study of yarn architecture of two-step rectangle 3D braided composites is presented. Firstly, the braided surface, the shapes of yarns and the intertwining between braider yams and axial yams are analyzed from experimentation. With the microstructure being defined, three levels of unit cell structure are identified, i.e. large unit cell, second unit cell and minimal unit cell. Secondly, based on the minimal unit cell in the interior and on the boundary of the entire cross-section, the deformations of axial yams squashed by braider yams contribute to the increase of the fiber packing factors of axial yams. Finally, the predicted fiber volume fraction of the composites decreases with the increase of linear density of the braider yam and the pitch length. Favorable correlations between the predicted and the experimental results arc found for six groups of the composites. 展开更多

Spinning carbon nanotube (CNT) yarns from super-aligned carbon nanotube (SACNT) arrays is a promising approach to fabricate high-strength fibers. However the reported tensile strengths of the as-prepared fibers are far below that of an individual CNT. It is therefore still a challenge to improve their mechanical strengths. Here we report that the tensile strengths and Young's moduli can be further improved to 2.2 GPa and 200 GPa respectively, if we first treat the SACNT array with oxygen plasma by using a reactive ion etching (RIE) facility, then dry spin yarns from it and make composite fibers with polyvinyl alcohol. According to the experimental results obtained using scanning electron microscopy (SEM), Raman spectroscopy and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), the improvement is attributed to the oxygen RIE process, as it can create functional groups on the outer walls of CNTs and thus improve the interaction between the CNTs and the polymer molecules. 展开更多
