The optical properties of three linear conjugated oligomers (F-P, F-P-F, and P-F-P-F-P), where phenothiazine (P) and fluorene (F) groups arrange alternately, are investigated. With the enhancement of the π-conjugated system, their absorption and emission bands both gradually red shift, and their two-photon properties are also improved. Meanwhile, their fluorescence dynamic traces are analyzed with continuous rate distribution model, exhibiting that their decay rates gradually accelerate and the rate distribution width become narrower. The quantum chemical calculation offers their molecular structures and transition mechanism, showing that the enhancement of π-conjugated system should be responsible for tile improvement of two-photon properties. 展开更多

Progressive Collapse Analysis of Concrete-Filled Steel Tubular Frames with Semi-rigid Connections

A 9-story concrete-filled steel tubular frame model is used to analyze the response of joints due to sudden column loss. Three different models are developed and compared to study the efficiency and feasibility of simulation, which include substructure model, beam element model and solid element model. The comparison results show that the substructure model has a satisfying capability, calculation efficiency and accuracy to predict the concerned joints as well as the overall framework. Based on the substructure model and a kind of semi-rigid connection for concretefilled square hollow section steel column proposed in this paper, the nonlinear dynamic analyses are conducted by the alternate path method. It is found that the removal of the ground inner column brings high-level joint moments and comparatively low-level axial tension forces. The initial stiffness and transmitted ultimate moment of the semi-rigid connection are the main factors that influence the frame behavior, and their lower limit should be guaranteed to resist collapse. Reduced ultimate moment results in drastic displacement and axial force development, which may bring progressive collapse. The higher initial stiffness ensures that the structure has a stronger capacity to resist progressive collapse. 展开更多

Often many variables have to be analyzed for their importance in terms of significant contribution and predictability in medical research. One of the possible analytical tools may be the Multiple Linear Regression Analysis. However, research papers usually report both univariate and multivariate regression analyses of the data. The biostatistician sometimes faces practical difficulties while selecting the independent variables for logical inclusion in the multivariate analysis. The selection criteria for inclusion of a variable in the multivariate regression is that the variable at the univariate level should have a regression coefficient with p 〈 0.20. However, there is a chance that an independent variable with p 〉 0.20 at univariate regression may become significant in the multivariate regression analysis and vice versa, provided the above criteria is not strictly adhered to. We undertook both univariate and multivariate linear regression analyses on data from two multi-centric clinical trials. We recommend that there is no need to restrict the p value of 〈= 0.20. Because of high speed computer and availability of statistical software, the desired results could be achieved by considering all relevant independent variables in multivariate regression analysis. 展开更多

索穹顶结构是一种由预应力拉索与竖杆组成的高效柔性空间结构,易发生较大位移,拉索可能出现松弛现象。该文采用向量式有限元进行了索穹顶的静力分析。向量式有限元是一种向量力学与数值计算相结合的分析方法,不同于传统分析力学方法和... 索穹顶结构是一种由预应力拉索与竖杆组成的高效柔性空间结构,易发生较大位移,拉索可能出现松弛现象。该文采用向量式有限元进行了索穹顶的静力分析。向量式有限元是一种向量力学与数值计算相结合的分析方法,不同于传统分析力学方法和其他数值计算方法。向量式有限元基于运动方程求解,不需求解非线性方程组及刚度矩阵,尤其适合于发生刚体位移和几何大变形的结构或机构求解。该文首先介绍了向量式有限元的基本原理,推导了预应力索单元的求解公式,最后采用自编向量式有限元程序,分析了一个单摆模型和一个索穹顶结构模型。结果表明:向量式有限元应用于索穹顶静力分析是可行而且可靠的,在传统有限元计算难以收敛的情况下仍然可以对结构进行精确的非线性分析,为索穹顶的非线性分析提供了一种新的方法和手段。 展开更多
