Multilayer waveguides containing a silicon oxynitride layer were used as charge trapper in this investigation on the effect of the internal field inside the waveguide. Compared to waveguides without the trapping layer, experimental results showed that the induced linear electro-optic (EO) coefficient increases about 20% after poling, suggesting strongly that the internal field is relatively enhanced, and showed it is a promising means for improving nonlinearity by poling in waveguides.展开更多

These techniques can also be used in fast implementations of F5 and some other signature-based Grobner basis algorithms. When these techniques are applied, a very important step is constructing matrices from critical pairs and existing polynomials by the Symbolic Preprocessing function (given in F4). Since multiplications of monomials and polynomials are involved in the Symbolic Preprocessing function, this step can be very costly when the number of involved polynomials/monomials is huge. In this paper, multiplications of monomials and polynomials for a Boolean polynomial ring are investigated and a specific method of implementing the Symbolic Preprocessing function over Boolean polynomial rings is reported. Many examples have been tested by using this method, and the experimental data shows that the new method is very efficient.展开更多

Both complexes were characterized by X-ray crystallography and solid state electrochemistry, in addition to static and dynamic magnetic measurements. Antiferromagnetic couplings are found to be operative between metal ion centers bridged by cyanide in both complexes. Complex 1 exhibited field-induced SMM behavior with an energy barrier of 13.8 K. The introduction of the redox-active TTF unit into cyanidebridged complexes with interesting magnetic properties renders them promising candidates for the construction of new hybrid inorganic-organic materials.展开更多
