The results show that the stoichiometric ratio, impurity, relaxation time, and dot size have great influence on the optical absorption coefficients of QDs.展开更多

Photons with different frequencies represent different qubits. Single qubit rotation operation is implemented through optical elements like the Faraday polarization rotator. Photons are separated into different optical paths, or merged into a single optical path using dichromatic mirrors. The controlled-NOT gate between two qubits is implemented by the proper combination of parametric up and down conversions. This scheme has the following features: (1) No auxiliary qubits are required in the controlled-NOT gate operation; (2) No measurement is required in the course of the computation; (3) It is resource efficient and conceptually simple.展开更多

Two coherent fields interact when they enter a nonlinear Kerr medium. If the interaction time is chosen appropriately in each Kerr medium, four-photon cluster state can be generated based on the results of two homodyne detectors in the first scheme. These schemes only use Kerr medium and homodyne measurements on coherent light fields, which can be effciently made in quantum optical laboratories. In addition, weak cross-Kerr nonlinearity is sufficient. All of the properties make these schemes feasible in experiments.展开更多

Finally, the numerical results are presented for typical GaAs/AlGaAs asymmetric quantum wells. The calculated results show that the origin of the large thirdharmonic-generation susceptibility is due to the increase in asymmetry of the quantum well.展开更多

This purpose is achieved by considering a spring whose constant (and so its frequency) depends on the quantum states ofanother system. Recently, it is realized that by the assumption of frequency modulation of ω to ω √1+ μα+α the mentioned idea can be established. In the present paper, we generalize the approach of quantum optical spring with particular attention to the dependence or trequency to the intensity of radiation field that naturally observes in the nonlinear coherent states, from which we arrive at a physical system has been called by us as nonlinear quantum optical spring. Then, after the introduction of the generalized tlamiltonian of nonlinear quantum optical spring and it's solution, we will investigate the nonclassical properties of the obtained states. Specially, typical collapse and revival in the distribution functions and squeezing parameters, as particular quantum features, will be revealed.展开更多

We describe the impact of the complete supersymmetric QCD (SQCD) next-to-leading order (NLO) radiative corrections on this process at a polarized or unpolarized photon collider, and make a comparison between the effects of the SQCD and the standard model (SM) QCD. We investigate the dependence of the lowest-order (LO) and QCD NLO corrected cross sections in both the SM and minimal supersymmetric standard model (MSSM) on colliding energy √s in different polarized photon collision modes. The LO, SM NLO, and SQCD NLO corrected distributions of the invariant mass of tt^--pair and the transverse momenta of final Z^0-boson are presented. Our numerical results show that the pure SQCD effects in γγ →tt^- Z^0 process can be more significant in the ++ polarized photon collision mode than in other collision modes, and the relative SQCD radiative correction in unpolarized photon collision mode varies from 32.09% to -1.89% when √s goes up from 500 GeV to 1.5 TeV.展开更多

Our results indicate that, the magnitudes of these optical quantities increase and their peaks shift to higher energies as the influences of the impurity and the band edge non-parabolicity are considered. Moreover, incident light intensity and the dot size have considerable effects on the optical absorption coefficients and refractive index changes.展开更多

The advantage of our methodology is that one can investigate the influence of the repulsive core by varying two parameters in the confinement potential. The dimensionality effect of exciton quantum dots on the optical absorptions has been studied. It has been found that in the same regime, the optical absorption intensities of excitons axe much smaller for the core/shell quantum dots than for the two-dimensional quantum rings. The linear and the nonlinear optical absorption coefficients and refractive index changes have been examined with the change of the confinement potential. The results show that the optical absorptions and the refractive index changes are strongly affected by the repulsive core of core/shell quantum dots. Moreover, the calculated results also reveal that as the inner radius increases, the peak values of the absorption coefficients and the refractive index changes of an exciton will show the optical Aharonov-Bohm oscillation in core/shell quantum dots.展开更多
