Graft patency is a key predictor of long-term survival. We therefore sought to determine the relative patency rate of radial-artery and saphenous-vein grafts in a randomized trial in which we controlled for bias in the selection of patients and vessels. METHODS: We enrolled 561 pa tients at 13 centers. The left internal thoracic artery was used to bypass the anterior circulation. The radial-artery graft was randomly assigned to bypass the major vessel in either the inferior(right coronary)territory or the lateral(circumflex) territory, with the saphenous-vein graft used for the opposing territory(control). The primary end point was graft occlusion, determined by angiography 8 to 12 months postoperatively. RESULTS: Angiography was performed at one year in 440 patients: 8.2 percent of radial-artery grafts and 13.6 percent of saphenous-vein grafts were completely occluded(P=0.009). Diffuse narrowing of the graft(the angiographic “string sign”)was present in 7.0 percent of radial-artery grafts and only 0.9 percent of saphenous-vein grafts(P=0.001). The absence of severe native-vessel stenosis was associated with an increased risk of occlusion of the radial-artery graft and diffuse narrowing of the graft. Harvesting of the radial artery was well tolerated. CONCLUSIONS: Radialartery grafts are associated with a lower rate of graft occlusion at one year than are saphenous-vein grafts. Because the patency of radial-artery grafts depends on the severity of native-vessel stenosis, such grafts should preferentially be used for target vessels with highgrade lesions.展开更多

The experimental results reveal that peak strength, residual strength, elasticity modulus and deformation modulus increase linearly with confining pressure, and failure models transform from fragile failure under low confining pressure to ductility failure under high confining pressure. Macroscopic failure forms of samples under uniaxial compression were split failure parallel to the axis of samples, while macroscopic failure forms under uniaxial compression were shear failure, the shear failure angle of which decreased linearly with confin- ing pressure. There were significant volume dilatation properties in the loading process of sandstone under different confining pressures, and we analyzed the damage evolution properties of samples based on acoustic emission damage and volumetric dilatation damage, and established damage constitutive model, realizing the real-time Quantitative evaluation of samnles damage state in loading process.展开更多

The plane can, therefore, be partitioned into regions labelled according to the characterization of the curve when the fourth point is in each region. This partitioned plane is called a "characterization diagram". By moving one of the control points but fixing the rest, one can induce different characterization diagrams. In this paper, we investigate the relation among all different characterization diagrams of cubic C-curves based on the singularity conditions proposed by Yang and Wang (2004). We conclude that, no matter what the C-curve type is or which control point varies, the characterization diagrams can be obtained by cutting a common 3D characterization space with a corresponding plane.展开更多

According to contents of major elements in samples, we selected lines of Si, Al, Fe, K, Ca, Mg, Na, Ti and Mn. These lines of 9 elements composed three characteristic spectral models which were the WSLM (Wide spectral line model), the PM (Peak model) and the PRM (Peak ratio model). The first and the second characteristic spectral model were divided into 9 kinds, as follows: the characteristic spectrum with 1 element, the characteristic spectrum with 2 elements, we can deduce the rest from this and the last one has 9 elements. The third model was divided into 8 kinds which were using AI as reference element. We analysed spectrums of the three models by BPNN. Experimental results shown that whether sorting or distinguishing these samples, identification accuracies of the PM were more than that of the PRM overall, the same as the WSLM did to the PM. While the selected number of elements was 5, 6 or 7, the identification accuracy of the WSLM could reach more than 90%. Continuing to add the number of elements to improve identification accuracy was not very obvious.展开更多
