The results show that the mechanical properties and microstructures using chromite sand are the best. As the cooling speed increases, the dendrite arm spacing (DAS) decreases significantly and the mechanical properties are improved, and the elongation is more sensitive to the cooling speed as compared with the tensile strength. The increase of the properties is primarily attributed to the decrease of the DAS and the increase of the free strontium atoms in the matrix. In particular, the regression models for predicting both the tensile strength and the elongation for Sr-modified A356 aluminum casting alloy were established based on the experimental data.展开更多

Meanwhile, the tensile mechanical property was tested. With increasing the Gd content, as-cast microstructure is refined gradually. Mg-Zn-Gd new phase increases gradually, while MgZn2 phase decreases gradually to disappear. The second phase tends to distribute along grain boundary by continuous network. As-cast tensile mechanical property is reduced slightly at ambient temperature when the Gd content does not exceed 2.98%. After extrusion by extrusion ratio of 40 and extrusion temperature of 593 K, microstructure is refined further with decreasing the average grain size to 2 μm for ZK60-2.98Gd alloy. Broken second phase distributes along the extrusion direction by zonal shape. Extruded tensile mechanical property is enhanced significantly. Tensile strength values at 298 and 473 K increase gradually from 355 and 120 MPa for ZK60 alloy to 380 and 164 MPa for ZK60-2.98Gd alloy, respectively. Extruded tensile fractures exhibit a typical character of ductile fracture.展开更多

METHODS:Cells were treated with hyperthermia at 43 ℃ for 0.5 h, followed by incubation under hypoxic or normoxic conditions for 72 h. Cell morphology was observed. Expressions of E-cadherin and vimentin were determined by immunofluorescence assay or Western blot. The protein and mRNA expressions of Snail were also determined by Western blot and reverse transcrip-tion-polymerase chain reaction. Cell migratory capacity was evaluated. RESULTS:Hypoxia induced EMT in HepG2 cells, which was evidenced by morphological, molecular and func-tional changes, including the formation of a spindle shape and the loss of cell contact. The expression of E-cadherin was decreased but the expression of vimentin was increased; also, the migratory capability was increased by 2.2 ± 0.20-fold as compared with normoxia. However, those effects were inhibited by hyperthermia pretreatment. Furthermore, protein synthesis and mRNA expression of Snail in the cells were enhanced by hy-poxia as compared with normoxia, and also significantly inhibited by hyperthermia pretreatment. CONCLUSION:Hyperthermia may inhibit hypoxia-induced EMT in HepG2 HCC cells, and the mechanism may involve inhibition of induced expression of Snail.展开更多

Both alloys under as-cast condition with supersaturated, non-equilibrium T(Mg32(A1, Zn)49) phase and impurities phase were displayed. When the homogenization temperatures are below 350 ~C, Zn and Mg atoms precipitate from matrix; however, when the temperatures are above 400 ~C, T phase dissolves into matrix, enhancing solid-solution strengthening. Kinetics of A13(Scl.xZrx) precipitates was studied based on Jmat Pro software calculation and the difference values between the hardness of the two alloys in each homogenization condition. The calculations predict that the Sc and Zr solubilities in ct-A1 decline with the presence of Mg and Zn. Investigation of the difference values reveals that when the temperature is between 300 ~C and 350 ~C, the nucleation rate of A13(Sc1-xZrx) precipitates is the highest and the strengthening effect from A13(SCl_xZrx) precipitates is the best. After homogenization at 470℃ for 12 h, non-equilibrium T phase disappears, while impurity phase remains. The mean diameter of A13(Scl_xZrx) precipitates is around 18 urn. Ideas about better fulfilling the potentials of Sc and Zr were proposed at last.展开更多

The results show that the eutectic B in Cu-B alloys can be modified by Al from coarse needles to fine fibrous structure and primary B will form in hypoeutectic Cu-B alloys. As for Cu-ZrB2 composites, Al can significantly refine and modify the morphology of ZrB2 as well as improve its distribution, which should be due to its selective adsorption on ZrB2 surfaces. The first-principles calculation results indicate that Al is preferentially adsobed on ZrB2■, then on ZrB2■, and finally on ZrB2(0001). As a result, smaller sized ZrB2 with a polyhedron-like, even nearly sphere-like morphology, can form. Due to Al addition, the hardness of Cu-ZrB2 composites is greatly enhanced, but the electrical conductivity of the composites is seriously reduced.展开更多
