Additives of dioctyl phthalate(DOP),ethylene bis-stearomide(EBS),and epoxy(EP)were selected to modify the surface of 7075 Al alloy powder.Functional groups in DOP and EBS form hydrogen bonds with hydroxyl groups on th...Additives of dioctyl phthalate(DOP),ethylene bis-stearomide(EBS),and epoxy(EP)were selected to modify the surface of 7075 Al alloy powder.Functional groups in DOP and EBS form hydrogen bonds with hydroxyl groups on the surface of Al powder.Additionally,the epoxy groups in the epoxy resin undergo ring-opening reactions with hydroxyl groups.The above interactions increased the compatibility between alloy powder and polyoxymethylene(POM).After sintering,samples containing DOP and EP presented high contents of C and O,while the part with EBS additive exhibited the lowest contents of 0.006 wt.%C and 0.604 wt.%O,respectively.Excessive C tends to accumulate at grain boundaries during sintering.Concurrently,excessive O causes secondary oxidation of aluminium alloy powder,inhibiting the sintering densification process.Therefore,the densities of the samples containing DOP and EP were only 85.52%and 79.01%,respectively.In contrast,using EBS as an additive,high-quality aluminium alloy parts were achieved,with a relative density of 97.64%and a tensile strength of 193 MPa.展开更多
The Al-Cu wheel adopting the new Al alloy was prepared by the liquid-die forging,and the mechanical properties,composition distribution,microstructure and fracture behavior were investigated.The results showed that se...The Al-Cu wheel adopting the new Al alloy was prepared by the liquid-die forging,and the mechanical properties,composition distribution,microstructure and fracture behavior were investigated.The results showed that serious Cu segregation was found in the wheel specimen;the microstructure of the Al-Cu wheel was comprised of the casting microstructure and a small amount of the deformed microstructure;the best heat treatment and water quenching system were found to solution treated at(530±5)℃ for 4 h followed by(535±5)℃ for 24 h and aging treated at(155±5)℃ for 4 h;the fracture morphologies of the samples heated under T 6 and T 5-1 heat treatment showed flat,tough nest,and poor plastic characteristics;the fracture morphologies of the samples heated under T 4 heat treatment exhibited complete resilience,but no residual metallographic characteristic;the sample treated under T 4 protocol had the best elongation;the fracture failure was mainly due to the formation of the CuAl_(2)(θ)phases;and the fracture mechanism of the Al-Cu wheel was intergranular fracture.展开更多

METHODS: The expressions of Ep...AIM: To investigate the expression of Erythropoietin (Epo) and its receptor (EpoR) in gastric adenocarcinoma (GAC) and the correlation with angiogenesis and clinicopathological features. METHODS: The expressions of Epo, EpoR and vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF), as well as mi-crovessel density were evaluated in 172 GAC biopsies by immunohistochemical staining. The correlations between these parameters and patient’s clinicopathological features were analyzed statistically. RESULTS: The proportion of Epo and EpoR alterations in GAC was higher than that in adjacent normal mucosa (P = 0.035 and 0.030). Epo high-expression was associ-ated with EpoR high-expression, Lauren type, extensivelymph node metastasis and advanced stage of GAC (P = 0.018, 0.018, 0.004 and 0), while EpoR expression was linked with older age, World Health Organization type, extensive lymph node metastasis and advanced stage (P = 0.001, 0.013, 0.008 and 0.001). VEGF high expression was significantly correlated with EpoR low-expression, Lauren type, extensive lymph node metastasis and advanced stage (P = 0.001, 0.001, 0.001 and 0.007). The expression of Epo or EpoR was associated with microvessel density (P = 0.004 and 0.046). On multivariate analysis, only lymph node metastasis, abnormal Epo expression and tumor nodes metastases stage were independently associated with survival. In addition, a strong association with the immunohistochemical expression of EpoR and the angiogenic protein, VEGF, was noted. CONCLUSION: Increased expression of Epo and EpoR may play a signif icant role in the carcinogenesis, angiogenesis and progression of GAC. Epo may be an inde-pendent prognostic factor.展开更多

And the rnicrostructure evolution of semi-solid Mg-14Al-0.5Mn alloy during isothermal heat treatment was investigated. The mechanism of the microstructure evolution and the processing conditions for isothermal heat treatment were also discussed. The results show that the microstructures of cast alloys consist of α-Mg,β-Mg17Al12 and a small amount of Al-Mn compounds. After holding at 520 ℃ for 3 min, the phases of β-Mg17Al12 and eutectic mixtures in the Mg-14Al-0.5Mn alloy melt and the microstructures of α-Mg change from developed dendrites to irregular solid particles. With increasing the isothermal time, the amount of liquid increases, and the solid particles grow large and become spherical. When the holding time lasts for 20 min or even longer, the solid and liquid phases achieve a state of dynamic equilibrium.展开更多

Widespread societal ills such as depression and...A consumer makes choices by following a certain paradigm, a system for organizing his thinking based on norms that are determined by certain norm-setters or role models. Widespread societal ills such as depression and suicide seem to correlate with certain types of consumer behavior. However, current consumer choice theories don't appear to be effective in evaluating epidemiology research. This study compares existing consumer choice paradigms and introduces the linguistic paradigm as a framework for studying the organization of human thinking. The linguistic paradigm is based on the nature of human language and on spiritual wisdom. The paradigm is implemented to generate models (process templates) for the analysis of selected consumer choice issues. The potential effectiveness of these models in analyzing consumer behavior is discussed.展开更多
Bone defects arising from a variety of reasons cannot be treated effectively without bone tissue reconstruction.Autografts and allografts have been used in clinical application for some time,but they have disadvantage...Bone defects arising from a variety of reasons cannot be treated effectively without bone tissue reconstruction.Autografts and allografts have been used in clinical application for some time,but they have disadvantages.With the inherent drawback in the precision and reproducibility of conventional scaffold fabrication techniques,the results of bone surgery may not be ideal.This is despite the introduction of bone tissue engineering which provides a powerful approach for bone repair.Rapid prototyping technologies have emerged as an alternative and have been widely used in bone tissue engineering,enhancing bone tissue regeneration in terms of mechanical strength,pore geometry,and bioactive factors,and overcoming some of the disadvantages of conventional technologies.This review focuses on the basic principles and characteristics of various fabrication technologies,such as stereolithography,selective laser sintering,and fused deposition modeling,and reviews the application of rapid prototyping techniques to scaffolds for bone tissue engineering.In the near future,the use of scaffolds for bone tissue engineering prepared by rapid prototyping technology might be an effective therapeutic strategy for bone defects.展开更多

However, Ki...Mutations of integrin-interacting protein Kindlin-1 cause Kindler syndrome and deregulation of Kindlin-1 is implicated in human cancers. The Kindlin-1-related diseases are confined in limited tissue types. However, Kindlin-1 tissue distribution and the dogma that governs Kindlin-1 expression in normal human body are elusive. This study examined Kindlin-1 expression in normal human adult organs, human and mouse embryonic organs by immunohistochemical analyses. We identified a general principle that the level of Kindlin-1 expression in tissues is tightly correlated with the corresponding germ layers from which these tissues originate. We compared the expression of Kindlin-1 with Kindlin-2 and found that Kindlin-1 is highly expressed in epithelial tissues derived from ectoderm and endoderm, whereas Kindlin-2 is mainly expressed in mesoderm-derived tissues. Likewise, Kindlin-1 was also found highly expressed in endoderm/ectoderm-derived tissues in human and mouse embryos. Our findings indicate that Kindlin-1 may play an importance role in the development of endoderm/ectoderm related tissues.展开更多
