Microstructure and texture evolution of Cu-0.23%Al2O3 dispersion strengthened copper alloy, deformed at room temperature or cryogenic temperature, were investigated. The main textures in hot-extruded specimen were Brass {011} 〈211〉 and Cube {100} 〈100〉. Textures of Brass {011} 〈211〉 and Goss {011} 〈100〉 were observed in specimen after deformation at room temperature; while textures of Brass {011} 〈211〉, Goss {011} 〈100〉 and S {123} 〈634〉 were detected after deformation at cryogenic temperature. It is believed that the additional Al2O3 nanoparticles can result in dislocation pinning effect, which can further lead to the suppression of dislocations cross-slip. While in the specimen deformed at cryogenic temperature, both pinning effect and cryogenic temperature are responsible for the formation of Brass, Goss and S textures. 展开更多

Some applications of crystal plasticity modeling in equal channel angular extrusion(ECAE) of face-centered cubic metals were highlighted.The results show that such simulations can elucidate the dependency of grain refinement efficiency on processing route and the directionality of substructure development,which cannot be explained by theories that consider only the macroscopic deformation behavior.They can also capture satisfactorily the orientation stability and texture evolution under various processing conditions.It is demonstrated that crystal plasticity models are useful tools in exploring the crystallographic nature of grain deformation and associated behavior that are overlooked or sometimes erroneously interpreted by existing phenomenological theories. 展开更多

As-cast Mg-6Zn-xCu-0.6Zr(x=0,0.5,1.0,wt.%)alloys were fabricated by permanent mold casting;then,the alloys were subjected to homogenization heat treatment and extrusion-shearing(ES)process.The microstructure and mechanical properties of the alloys were evaluated by OM,SEM/EDS,XRD,TEM,EBSD and tensile tests.The results show that the hard MgZnCu phase in Cu-added alloy can strengthen particle-stimulated nucleation(PSN)effect and hinder the migration of dynamic recrystallization(DRX)grain boundary at an elevated temperature during ES.The ZK60+0.5Cu alloy shows an optimal tensile strength–ductility combination(UTS of 396 MPa,YS of 313 MPa,andδ=20.3%)owing to strong grain boundary strengthening and improvement of Schmid factor for{0001}■basal slip.The aggregation of microvoids around the MgZnCu phase mainly accounts for the lower tensile elongation of ZK60+1.0Cu alloy compared with ZK60 alloy. 展开更多

Changes in tissue structures, rheological properties of cross- and vertical section boiled abalone meat were studied in relation to boiling time. The adductor muscle of abalone Haliotis discus which was removed from the shell, was boiled for 1, 2, and 3 h, respectively. Then it was cut up and separated into cross- and vertical section meat. When observed by a light microscope and a scanning electron microscope, structural changes in the myofibrils were greatest in the cross section meat compared with the vertical section meat. When boiling time was increased from 1 h to 3 h, the instantaneous modulus E 0 and rupture strength of both section meat decreased gradually with increased boiling time, and no significant differences were observed between these two section meat for the same boiling time. When boiled for 1 h, the relaxation time of cross section meat was much longer than that of vertical section meat. There were no significant changes in the relaxation time of vertical section for different boiling time, but the relaxation time of cross section meat was reduced gradually with increasing boiling time. These results confirmed that the difference in rheological properties between the cross- and vertical section meat was mainly due to the denaturation level of myofibrils when heated for 1 h, as well as due to the changes in the amount of denatured proteins, and the manner in which the inner denatured protein components weve exchanged after boiling time was increased from 1 h to 3 h. 展开更多

In order to broaden the application of wrought Mg alloy sheets in the automotive industry,the influence of Ca and Sm alloying on the texture evolution,mechanical properties,and formability of a hot-rolled Mg-2Zn-0.2Mn alloy was investigated by OM,XRD,SEM,EBSD,tensile tests,and Erichsen test.The results showed that the average grain size and basal texture intensity of Mg-2Zn-0.2Mn alloys were remarkably decreased after Ca and Sm additions.0.64 wt.%Ca or 0.48 wt.%Sm addition significantly increased the tensile strength,ductility and formability.Moreover,the synergetic addition of Sm and Ca improved the ductility and formability of Mg-2Zn-0.2Mn alloy,which was due to the change of Ca distribution and further reduction of the size of Ca-containing particles by Sm addition.The results provided a possibility of replacing RE elements with Ca and Sm in Mg alloys which bring about outstanding mechanical properties and formability. 展开更多

Hot deformation behaviors and microstructure evolution of Ti-3Al-5Mo-4Cr-2Zr-1Fe(Ti-35421)alloy in theβsingle field are investigated by isothermal compression tests on a Gleeble-3500 simulator at temperatures of 820-900°C and strain rates of 0.001-1 s^(-1).The research results show that discontinuous yield phenomenon and rheological softening are affected by the strain rates and deformation temperatures.The critical conditions for dynamic recrystallization and kinetic model of Ti-35421 alloy are determined,and the Arrhenius constitutive model is constructed.The rheological behaviors of Ti-35421 alloys aboveβphase transformation temperature are predicted by the constitutive model accurately.The EBSD analysis proves that the deformation softening is controlled by dynamic recovery and dynamic recrystallization.In addition,continuous dynamic recrystallization is determined during hot deformation,and the calculation model for recrystallization grain sizes is established.Good linear dependency between the experimental and simulated values of recrystallized grain sizes indicates that the present model can be used for the prediction of recrystallized grain size with high accuracy. 展开更多

Hot compression of 7050 aluminum alloy was performed on Gleeble 1500D thermo-mechanical simulator at 350 ℃ and 450 ℃ with a constant strain rate of 0.1 s-1 to different nominal strains of 0.1, 0.3 and 0.7. Microstructures of 7050 alloy under various compression conditions were observed by TEM to investigate the microstructure evolution process of the alloy deformed at various temperatures. The microstructure evolves from dislocation tangles to cell structure and subgrain structure when being deformed at 350 ℃, of which dynamic recovery is the softening mechanism. However, continuous dynamic recrystallization (DRX) occurs during hot deformation at 450 ℃, in which the main nucleation mechanisms of DRX are subgrain growth and subgrain coalescence rather than particle-simulated nucleation (PSN). 展开更多

Hot deformation behavior and microstructure evolution of hot isostatically pressed FGH96 P/M superalloy were studied using isothermal compression tests. The tests were performed on a Gleeble-1500 simulator in a temperature range of 1000-1150 °C and strain rate of 0.001-1.0 s-1, respectively. By regression analysis of the stress—strain data, the constitutive equation for FGH96 superalloy was developed in the form of hyperbolic sine function with hot activation energy of 693.21 kJ/mol. By investigating the deformation microstructure, it is found that partial and full dynamical recrystallization occurs in specimens deformed below and above 1100 °C, respectively, and dynamical recrystallization (DRX) happens more readily with decreasing strain rate and increasing deformation temperature. Finally, equations representing the kinetics of DRX and grain size evolution were established. 展开更多

AM60B magnesium alloy was refined by MgCO3 and its microstmcturat evolution was investigated during partial remelting. The results indicate that MgCO3 is an effective grain refiner for AM60B alloy and can decrease the grain size from 329 pm of the unrefined alloy to 69 μm. A semisolid microstructure with small and spheroidal primary particles can be obtained after being partially remelted. The microstructure evolution can be divided into four steps: the initial rapid coarsening, structure separation, spheroidization and final coarsening. Correspondingly, these four steps result from the phase transformations of β→α, α+β→L and α→L, α→L and two reverse reactions of α→L and L→α, respectively. One spheroidal primary particle in the semisolid microstmcture usually originates one dendrite in the as-cast microstructure. The variation of primary particle size with holding time does not obey the LSW law, Dt^3-Do^3=Kt, after the semisolid system is in its solid-liquid equilibrium state. Longer heating duration makes the primary particles more globular, but it makes their size larger at the same time. 展开更多

The organizational structure change of enterprises should be subject to the change of strategy,and strategy change is the reaction to the environment change.This paper studied the expansion strategies and evolution paths of hotel groups in China by a survey in 2007,in which the research objects were 91 hotel groups listed by China Tourist Hotels Association.The conclusions are drawn:based on the two dimensions of unification management function scope and the unification management degree,hotel groups can be divided into four strategic types,including strategically concentrated group,close function group,widespread alliance group and loose union group.Simultaneously there are three different expansion paths:stability path,growth path and undulation path.About 72.5% of Chinese hotel groups have a stability or growth expansion path. 展开更多

The effects of mechanical activation in a planetary mill on the structural changes and microstructural characteristics of the components of ferruginous quartzite beneficiation railings generated by wet magnetic separation process were studied using X-ray and laser diffraction methods. The results revealed the relationship between variations in the mean particle size of activated powders and the milling time. The crystallite size, microstrain, lattice parameters and unit cell volumes were determined for different milling times in powder samples of quartz, hematite, dolomite, and magnetite from the beneficiation tailings. The main trends in the variation of the crystallite size of quartz, hematite, dolomite, and magnetite as a function mean particle size of powder samples were revealed. Changes in the particle shape as a function of the activation time was also investigated. 展开更多

Directional solidified(DS) turbine blades are widely used in advanced gas turbine engine. The size and orientation of columnar grains have great influence on the high temperature property and performance of the turbine blade. Numerical simulation of the directional solidification process is an effective way to investigate the grain's growth and morphology,and hence to optimize the process. In this paper,a mathematical model was presented to study the directional solidified microstructures at different withdrawal rates. Ray-tracing method was applied to calculate the temperature variation of the blade. By using a Modified Cellular Automation(MCA) method and a simple linear interpolation method,the mushy zone and the microstructure evolution were studied in detail. Experimental validations were carried out at different withdrawal rates. The calculated cooling curves and microstructure agreed well with those experimental. It is indicated that the withdrawal rate affects the temperature distribution and growth rate of the grain directly,which determines the final size and morphology of the columnar grain. A moderate withdrawal rate can lead to high quality DS turbine blades for industrial application. 展开更多

Thermal-induced transformation of wetting behaviors on laser-textured silicon carbide (SIC) surfaces was discussed in this work. To investigate the transformation, a quenching experiment was conducted and an X-ray diffractometer was used to measure the residual stress. The experimental results demonstrate that the significantly enhanced hydrophilicity was induced by the increasing thermal residual stress of SiC materials after the aqueous quenching. It was found that the decrease in the contact angle increased with the increasing quenching temperature. Quenching at 350℃ led to the change of contact angle from 89.28° to 70.88° for the smooth surface, while from 72.25° to 33.75° for the laser-textured surface with depth 8 μm. Further, the surface hydrophobicity was enhanced by the release of thermal residual stress after quenching, thereby leading to an increase in the contact angle over time. The transformation of wetting behaviors on laser textured SiC surfaces can be achieved mutually by the aqueous quenching method. 展开更多
