Comprehensive Evaluation on Urban Sustainable Development of Harbin City in Northeast China

It is an effective way in realizing urban coordinated and sustainable development to establish a series of in- dicators and to evaluate urban environmental and socioeconomic development. According to the characteristics of Harbin City in Northeast China, an indicator system including five subsystems and 37 indicators was established for comprehensive evaluation on urban sustainable development. The development indexes of all urban subsystems and complex system were calculated quantitatively using the comprehensively integrated methods composed of Principle Component Analysis, Analytic Hierarchy Process and weighed index method, and then the comprehensive level of ur- ban sustainable development and the degree of urban interior coordination were analyzed. The results indicated that 1) the overall urban development presented an uptrend, however, the interior development was not well balanced from 1996 to 2006; 2) the development in each subsystem presented a strong fluctuation; and 3) the development in re- sources subsystem showed a downtrend. Based on those results, the suggestions of urban sustainable development were put forward at the end.

Economic analysis in product design——A case study of a TCM dietary supplement

An approach for the economic analysis of chemical product design is proposed. It takes into account of customers' preference on product quality and economic considerations such as pricing, profit, market share, capital investment, and operating cost. The activities needed to support business decision making – identifying product quality, estimating product cost, calculating financial metrics, and performing make–buy analysis – are discussed.The design of a Ganoderma lucidum dietary supplement, a traditional Chinese medicinal(TCM) product, is used to illustrate all the activities in this approach.

An Analysis on the Spatial Distribution of Population Aging Pressure in China

Based on comprehensive analysis of the impact of population aging to social and economic development,a comprehensive evaluation system including 18 indexes was constructed for evaluating regional pressure of population aging on social and economic development.Using statistics data of 31 regions in China from 2004 to 2008,the pressure of population aging on social and economic development,was comprehensively evaluated by using the factor analysis method.The spatial distribution of population aging in China was also analyzed.This study is to provide scientific basis for government to make strategies of coping with population aging according to regional pressure of population aging on social and economic development in China.

Nowadays, the policy of encouraging the development of SMEs, starting a business has become a popular choice for many people. Alongside entrepreneurial talent, the legal environment and system design are also very significant for SMEs＇ surviving. This Article provides the successful experiences of SMEs in YIWU, including raising sufficient capital from private finance, highly autonomous forms of enterprise, as well as thinking highly of intellectual property. This article analyses the current problems of SMEs from both legal and economic perspectives, and gives three proposals： legalising underground lending system and creating private banks, introducing the Limited Liability Company into China, and providing the road for transforming intellectual property rights into easily realisable interests, for the purpose of building a more advantageous developing environment for SMEs.

Study On the Influencing Factors of Energy-Saving and Environmental Protection Industries in Shanghai

By using principal component analysis, this paper selected some appropriate influencing indicators, and constructed multiple linear regression models to predict the development of energy-saving environmental protection industry（ESEPl） in Shanghai. The Influencing Factors can be categorized into comprehensive economic factors and environmental factors, and GDP of the second industries and the total industries GDP in comprehensive economic factors have the strongest correlation, while in the environmental index factors, the total discharge of waste water has the strongest correlation. On the basis of influencing factors study, the regression model shows that by the end of 2020, the industry investment will reach 89.788 billion RMB, which proves that the development of ESEPI in Shanghai would grow continuously and dramatically.

Comprehensive Appraisal of Provincial Low Carbon Development:A Case Study of China

In this research,the Factor Analysis model of measuring provincial low carbon development in China has been constructed.Based on data from 30 provinces,an empirical study was developed to measure comprehensive low carbon development using the Factor Analysis model(Principal Components method and Normalized Varimax Rotation).The results reveal that the provincial marks of low carbon development are generally low and only nine provinces have high marks(more than 0.80).The results also show significant regional disparity.The provincial marks of the eastern region are higher than both the middle and western provinces of China's Mainland.All of the provinces with high marks(more than 0.90) are located in the eastern region,and those with the lowest marks(0.60) are located in the middle region.Furthermore,regional disparity in low carbon development follows the same pattern as economic development in China.Finally,some suggestions for decision-makers are presented.

CRUDE OIL PRICE FORECASTING WITH TEI@I METHODOLOGY

The difficulty in crude oil price forecasting, due to inherent complexity, has attracted much attention of academic researchers and business practitioners. Various methods have been tried to solve the problem of forecasting crude oil prices. However, all of the existing models of prediction can not meet practical needs. Very recently, Wang and Yu proposed a new methodology for handling complex systems-TEI@I methodology by means of a systematic integration of text mining, econometrics and intelligent techniques.Within the framework of TEI@I methodology, econometrical models are used to model the linear components of crude oil price time series (i.e., main trends) while nonlinear components of crude oil price time series (i.e., error terms) are modelled by using artificial neural network (ANN) models. In addition, the impact of irregular and infrequent future events on crude oil price is explored using web-based text mining (WTM) and rule-based expert systems (RES) techniques. Thus, a fully novel nonlinear integrated forecasting approach with error correction and judgmental adjustment is formulated to improve prediction performance within the framework of the TEI@I methodology. The proposed methodology and the novel forecasting approach are illustrated via an example.

A DECOMPOSITION METHOD OF STRUCTURAL DECOMPOSITION ANALYSIS

Over the past two decades, structural decomposition analysis (SDA) has developed into a major analytical tool in the field of input-output (IO) techniques, but the method was found to suffer from one or more of the following problems. The decomposition forms, which are used to measure the contribution of a specific determinant, are not unique due to the existence of a multitude of equivalent forms, irrational due to the weights of different determinants not matching, inexact due to the existence of large interaction terms.In this paper, a decomposition method is derived to overcome these deficiencies, and we prove that the result of this approach is equal to the Shapley value in cooperative games,and so some properties of the method are obtained. Beyond that, the two approaches that have been used predominantly in the literature have been proved to be the approximate solutions of the method.

On the economic analysis paradigm of historical materialism

The economic analysis paradigm of historical materialism is marked by a basic framework that embodies the distinctive features of historical materialism. As a consciously applied scientific method of analysis it is a reflection in the mind of the objective dialectics of the economic realm, consisting of applying the analytical fimctions of Marxist economic categories and principles and grasping the dialectical elements in the analytical approach of historical materialism. Compared with the analytical method of Western economics, the economic analytical method of historical materialism is markedly more scientific and advantageous. It is innovative in theoretical terms due to the scientific nature of historical materialism.

China＇s Choice of Analytical Models for Its Anti-Monopoly Law

Modem analytical models for anti-monopoly laws are a core element of the application of those laws. Since the Anti-Monopoly Law of the People＇s Republic of China was promulgated in 2008, law enforcement and judicial authorities have applied different analytical models, leading to divergent legal and regulatory outcomes as similar cases receive different verdicts. To select a suitable analytical model for China＇s Anti-Monopoly Law, we need to consider the possible contribution of both economic analysis and legal formalism and to learn from the mature systems and experience of foreign countries. It is also necessary to take into account such binding constraints as the current composition of China＇s anti-monopoly legal system, the ability of implementing agencies and the supply of economic analysis, in order to ensure complementarity between the analytical model chosen and the complexity of economic analysis and between the professionalism of implementing agencies and the cost of compliance for participants in economic activities. In terms of institutional design, the models should provide a considered explanation of the legislative aims of the law＇s provisions. It is necessary, therefore, to establish a processing model of behavioral classification that is based on China＇s national conditions, applies analytical models using normative comprehensive analysis, makes use of the distribution rule of burden of proof, improves supporting systems related to analytical models and enhances the ability of public authorities to implement the law.

The Decoupling Relationship between the Expansion of Urban Construction Land and Economic Growth in Jilin Province

In order to explore the relationship between urban construction land and economic development, this paper uses a decoupling model to analyze the decoupling relationship between expansion of urban construction land and economic growth in Jilin Province. The results show that from 2000 to 2015, the decoupling of urban construction land expansion and economic growth in Jilin province tended to be reasonable. The paper divides urban decoupling into three categories. The first type consists of ideal cities, including Liaoyuan and Baishan. The second type includes basic ideal cities like Changchun, Tonghua, Songyuan, Baicheng, and Yanbian. The third type consists of non-ideal cities, including Jilin and Siping. This paper puts forward relevant measures to promote the further decoupling of construction land expansion and economic growth in order to realize the sustainable use of land resources.

Comprehensive evaluation methods for dam service status

More than 87000 dams have been built in China,and about one third of them are risky projects.A number of high and ultra-high dams are being constructed in China's western region.The current dam construction practice tends to focus on socio-economic benefits and neglect the environment and ecology.Furthermore,periodic examinations are intended to ensure the structural safety of dams.This paper proposes a general evaluation principle for dam service.This principle stipulates that dam projects should have maximum socio-economic benefits and minimum negative effects on the environment and ecology.To satisfy the general principle of mutual harmony,socio-economic benefits,dam safety,environment,and ecology are analyzed,and the evaluation methods for dam service status are discussed.Then,a fusion algorithm of interlayer assessment is proposed on the basis of evidence theory and the fuzzy comprehensive analysis method.Finally,a comprehensive evaluation model is established.Example analysis shows that the proposed theories and methods can fulfill scientific assessment of the service status of dams.

Measuring Nonlinear Dependence Between Time Series Based on Correlation Dimension

In this paper, it is proved that the correlation dimension estimate of a nonlinear dynamical system with its multivariate observation series is the same as that with its univariate observation series. Based on this result, an inference method is presented, and the Nonlinear Dependence Coefficient is defined. This method is designed for testing nonlinear dependence between time series, and can be used in economic analysis and forecasting. Numerical results show the method is effective.
