Qualified staff (including teachers and administration) is the necessary condition for high-quality education of students. The qualified staff (university teachers) can only be internationally competitive when they do high quality research andactively participate in the university management. Government and industry set up the "boundary conditions" for universities, but they should not interfere into the internal self-governance of the universities, and should respect academic freedom. A world-class university has its own Triple Helix uniting education, research and innovation. A few specific examples of practical realization of such "sub" Triple Helix are given, which are based on personal experience of the author during 24 years of his work as a professor at leading universities in the USA, Germany and Japan. Though some findings and conclusions may have limited use in any particular country, there are universal features that should be present in any modem university interested in increasing its impact on local environment, concerned with interaction to local government and local businesses, and striving for top positions in international rankings.展开更多

However, what specific content should be included in the second level discipline has become a very important issue. What should be taught to students or how can they adapt to the needs of the social market aroused a wide attention. For this case, the National Ministry of Education has given a clearly provision for economic statistics' core courses, but whether these main courses can reflect the actual needs and characteristics of economic statistics or not still needs some considerations and discussions. This article started from the angle of the studies on China and the U.S. Journals concerning economic statistics. Using text mining by R, a recent mainstream statistical analysis software, gives a comparative analysis on the contents of economic statistics for recent decades. We created wordcloud about the contents of core statistical journals by R which can help us visually examine the course of economic statistics discipline development for the comparative study. Besides, we drew a conclusion that there were significant differences between China and America's economic statistics, the main difference is the United States pay more attention to the exploration of new methods and be able to adapt to market demand, the development of China's economic statistics are still more traditional, it need a better understanding of the multi-disciplinary knowledge of education, such as Bayesian and dynamics. Another is that the curriculum of China's economic statistics are corrected for China's actual situation, a new training program pay more attention to students' practical ability and social practice. There are a lot of practical problems remain untouched or unsolved which need efforts of decades probably.展开更多

The aforementioned rural communities are at a socioeconomic disadvantage concerning to the local economic development policies. It was taken a rural society with socio-economic conditions at a disadvantage, level 1 in the classification scale of 1 to 5 of Colombia, several associations were organized in each one of the affected municipalities with strong agricultural vocation to train them in profitable production strategies, authors performed technical and technological support for 12 months. In synthesis, there were meaningful differences among gross income per month of people who worked in the projects of the Young Rural Entrepreneurs, a fact confirmed by the P-value 0.00000005 (Prob. 〉 F) and the F-value 29.3, both denote the significance statistic for this case is best gross income per month of persons covered by the program, this implies that for a person of the rural community it is more meaningful economically linked to the SENA's Young Rural Entrepreneurs, in contrast to search for jobs in the informal sector, there is even an average value of 530.000 COP/month (about 265 US/month) higher than the statutory minimum wage for 2009, equivalent to 497.000 COP/month (about 245 US/month).展开更多

It is particularly crucial for satisfying the needs of the ever-growing population in developing countries. Agriculture is the backbone of the people and the economy for developing countries, particularly in highly populated countries such as India, China and South East Asia. The world population is anticipated to rise to 8.3 billion by 2030 and to 9.2 billion by 2050. By that time, to feed the growing population, food production must double to keep pace with the escalating food demand. Agricultural commodities showed increases of 58.9% in import dependency ratio (IDR) as compared to 32.2% in 2013. Thus, this study attempts to review and explore the challenges of food security as well as the opportunities of the seed industry in Malaysia.展开更多

Reactions to increased inequality in China, as elsewhere, have treated inequality as a pathology when in fact it is more usual than equality, and possibly more functional in terms of social and individual development. The problem with inequality is not that it exists but that it may be poorly conceived, especially in public discourse, and consequently that it is inadequately managed. Inequality extends well beyond questions of income and wealth to the distribution of power, of gender and of generation. Healthy societies require more even wealth distribution but they also require a wider appreciation of different types of inequality.展开更多
