Problems in the above researching field are generalized in this paper. For instance, the point selection is relatively simple; the selection of wave band, frequency and duration during the application of TEAS apparatus are not unified; and observation indices mainly remained in the aspect of biochemistry. It also prospects the future directions of TEAS relieving exercise-induced fatigue including selecting acupuncture point by differentiation of symptoms and signs, setting uniform standards for TEAS, and studying the mechanisms of TEAS relieving exercise-induced fatigue by testing gonadal axis, adrenal axis, gene and protein .展开更多

Acupuncture-like therapies, including electroacupuncture (EA) and transcutaneous electrical acupoint stimulation (TEAS), become more popular world-wide. Increasing evidence has demonstrated that EA and TEAS are effective in treating gynecological disorders, especially infertility. This present paper describes how to select acupoints for the treatment of infertility from the view of theories of traditional Chinese medicine and how to determine critical parameters of electric pulses of ENTEAS based on results from animal and clinical studies. It summarizes the principles of clinical application of EA/rEAS in treating various kinds of reproductive disorders, such as polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), pain induced by oocyte retrieval, diminished ovarian reserve, embryo transfer, and oligosperrnia/ asthenospermia. The possible underlying mechanisms mediating the therapeutic effects of EA/TEAS in reproductive medicine are also examined.展开更多

Methods: Clinically, 30 cases of the patients with acute seizure of migraine (ascending phase) were selected, in TCD abnormality, and divided randomly into the treatment group and control group, 15 cases in each group. In acute seizure of migraine, Neiguan (PC 6) was punctured with electric stimulation on the healthy side of the patients in the treatment group and Xuehai (SP 10) was punctured with electric stimulation on the healthy side of the patients in the control group. TCD was determined in the patients 30 min before and after the treatment. Results and conclusion: After transdermal electric stimulation on Neiguan (PC 6), the velocity of intracranial blood flow was obviously slowed down, indicating that transdermal electric stimulation on Neiguan (PC 6) can effectively relieve the spasm of intracranial blood vessels and also shows its relative specificity.展开更多

Methods:A total of 60 patients with infantile facial paralysis were divided into a treatment group and a control group by the random digital table, 30 cases in each group. The treatment group was treated with half puncture plus transcutaneous acupoint electric stimulation. The control group was treated with routine acupuncture. Before and after treatment, House-Brackmann (H-B) grading was used to evaluate the sick children respectively. The total effective rates were compared between the two groups after treatment. Results:After 6-course treatments, the total effective rate was 96.5% in the treatment group and 80.0% in the control group, there was a statistical difference between the two groups (P〈0.05) in comparison of the total effective rate. After 6-course treatments, H-B scores were all elevated than those before treatment in the two groups (P〈0.05); there was a statistical difference between the two groups (P〈0.05). Conclusion:Half puncture plus transcutaneous acupoint electric stimulation is better than routine acupuncture in curative effect for infantile facial paralysis.展开更多
