Control strategies for the two DOF trajectory following are studied and applied to the prototype USM. Vibration amplitude control is employed for speed regulation. The first trajectory following strategy is a step-by-step interpolation. The second strategy is vector decomposition control. Three pulse width modulation (PWM) methods for the exciting voltage regulation are investigated. These methods are compared and verified by several experiments. The key is to keep the phase differences of the three vibration constants and small exciting voltage distortion while the exciting voltages are changed for simplifing the control process and obtaining good control performance. The vector control method has advantages of small trajectory following error, smooth moving and low noise.展开更多

This robot control system, which is based on a single-processor structure, can run on general industrial computers. Owing to using Windows NT's real-time extension RTX, the control system can achieve good realtime performance and friendly user interface in one general-purpose operating system. A three layer hierarchical architecture of control software is proposed to make the system more scalable and flexible. Furthermore a communication and configuration system is implemented to enable modules to communicate with each other, which make the control system scalable and flexible.展开更多

The ER principle of direct current (DC) brushless motor was studied, the motor mathematical model and PI control method with torque close-loop were built. This control method was applied to pure EV and the real road tests were evaluated. The ER control does not make any significant uncomfortable influence brake feeling and can save about 10% battery energy based on 3 times economic commission for Europe (ECE) driving cycles.展开更多
