The dynamic stiffness method is introduced to analyze thin-walled structures including thin-walled straight beams and spatial twisted helix beam. A dynamic stiffness matrix is formed by using frequency dependent shape functions which are exact solutions of the governing differential equations. With the obtained thin-walled beam dynamic stiffness matrices, the thin-walled frame dynamic stiffness matrix can also be formulated by satisfying the required displacements compatibility and forces equilib-rium, a method which is similar to the finite element method (FEM). Then the thin-walled structure natural frequencies can be found by equating the determinant of the system dynamic stiffness matrix to zero. By this way, just one element and several elements can exactly predict many modes of a thin-walled beam and a spatial thin-walled frame, respectively. Several cases are studied and the results are compared with the existing solutions of other methods. The natural frequencies and buckling loads of these thin-walled structures are computed. 展开更多

The grisliness after-effects can be induced by explosion accident with the collapsing of the structures, the demolishing of the equipments and the casualty of the human beings. Isolation belt constructed between the blast point and the construction is one of the useful design schemes for blast resistance. The nonlinear procedure ANSYS/LSDYNA970 is used to simulate the contact detonation and the isolation belt of blast resistance filled with the air or water respectively. The results indicate that the maximal damage can be caused by the contact detonation, and the isolation belt of blast resistent filled with water can reduce the damage greatly. 展开更多

This paper presents an effective approach for updating finite element dynamic model from incomplete modal data identified from ambient vibration measurements. The proposed method is based on the relationship between the perturbation of structural parameters such as stiffness and mass changes and the modal data measurements of the tested structure such as measured mode shape readings.Structural updating parameters including both stiffness and mass parameters are employed to represent the differences in structural parameters between the finite element model and the associated tested structure. These updating parameters are then evaluated by an iterative solution procedure, giving optimised solutions in the least squares sense without requiring an optimisation technique. In order to reduce the influence of modal measurement uncertainty, the truncated singular value decomposition regularization method incorporating the quasi-optimality criterion is employed to produce reliable solutions for the structural updating parameters. Finally, the numerical investigations of a space frame structure and the practical applications to the Canton Tower benchmark problem demonstrate that the proposed method can correctly update the given finite element model using the incomplete modal data identified from the recorded ambient vibration measurements. 展开更多

Dislocations are of great importance in revealing the underlying mechanisms of deformed solid crystals. With the development of computational facilities and technologies, the observations of dislocations at atomic level through numerical simulations are permitted.Molecular dynamics(MD)simulation suggests itself as a powerful tool for understanding and visualizing the creation of dislocations as well as the evolution of crystal defects. However, the numerical results from the large-scale MD simulations are not very illuminating by themselves and there exist various techniques for analyzing dislocations and the deformed crystal structures. Thus,it is a big challenge for the beginners in this community to choose a proper method to start their investigations. In this review,we summarized and discussed up to twelve existing structure characterization methods in MD simulations of deformed crystal solids.A comprehensive comparison was made between the advantages and disadvantages of these typical techniques. We also examined some of the recent advances in the dynamics of dislocations related to the hydraulic fracturing. It was found that the dislocation emission has a significant effect on the propagation and bifurcation of the crack tip in the hydraulic fracturing. 展开更多

The dynamic conditional correlation(DCC) model has been widely used for modeling the conditional correlation of multivariate time series by Engle(2002). However, the stationarity conditions have been established only recently and the asymptotic theory of parameter estimation for the DCC model has not yet to be fully discussed. In this paper, we propose an alternative model, namely the scalar dynamic conditional correlation(SDCC) model. Sufficient and easily-checked conditions for stationarity, geometric ergodicity, andβ-mixing with exponential-decay rates are provided. We then show the strong consistency and asymptotic normality of the quasi-maximum-likelihood estimator(QMLE) of the model parameters under regular conditions. The asymptotic results are illustrated by Monte Carlo experiments. As a real-data example, the proposed SDCC model is applied to analyzing the daily returns of the FSTE(financial times and stock exchange) 100 index and FSTE 100 futures. Our model improves the performance of the DCC model in the sense that the Li-Mc Leod statistic of the SDCC model is much smaller and the hedging efficiency is higher. 展开更多

We determine structure parameters of the highest occupied molecular orbital(HOMO)of 27 dimers for the molecular tunneling ionization(so called MO-ADK)model of Tong et al.[Phys.Rev.A 66(2002)033402].The molecular wave functions with correct asymptotic behavior are obtained by solving the time-independent Schr(o|¨)dinger equation with B-spline functions and molecular potentials which are numerically created using the density functional theory. We examine the alignment-dependent tunneling ionization probabilities from MO-ADK model for several molecules by comparing with the molecular strong-field approximation(MO-SFA)calculations.We show the molecular PerelomovPopov-Terent'ev(MO-PPT)can successfully give the laser wavelength dependence of ionization rates(or probabilities).Based on the MO-PPT model, two diatomic molecules having valence orbital with antibonding systems(i.e.,Cl_2,Ne_2)show strong ionization suppression when compared with their corresponding closest companion atoms. 展开更多
